because no one can really, properly judge what goes into it as so many things are hidden. with a budget that huge im sure they could of played around with some things and given them the door in the master to the balcony?! how is that not the first thing you would do up there lol
I think the porch was more for the aesthetics of the home not for practical use otherwise I think they would've chose that option during the renovation. Plus the door Joanna put in the picture wouldn't be appealing to look at everyday, it looked really out of place and boring. Just my thoughts though
where is this house located? i need to know that it's in the middle of nowhere so i don't feel so bad that my unrenovated 1000 sq ft apartment is twice the price of this place after renovation.
Yael Abramowitz The show is based in central Texas, around the Waco area. If you look at a map, it might seem like it’s in the middle of nowhere, but it’s actually pretty convenient to everything. Sorry! 😉
shinyam75 it wouldn’t be that expensive. By the looks of it, the carport looks to be enough room for a single car. A single car garage on average is 12x12 which would make the price to pour concrete at $800 to $1,500. If the carport can fit 2 cars then it would be a typical 24x24 which would make the price to pour concrete at $3,000 to $4,000. Then a garage door would be about $800 to $1,500 (it depends on the quality and design). Then the price for the back wall and running electrical would be anywhere from $500 to $1,000. So the overall price for adding a garage to their home (on the higher side) would be around $7,500 to $ $8,000 P.S I know because a had my carport (very similar to this house) changed to a garage.
i dont understand why not try to come in under the budget...just cause they had the money to spend doesnt mean the designer needed to go and spend it all
