    I wonder if in next decades the trends will go back to build walls to separate spaces, and all these programs are "so many open spaces are a waste of space, let´s have a room for every different activity"

    • @sunshineallover6
      @sunshineallover6 4 роки тому +32

      I've totally wondered this too! And especially now with whole families being stuck quarantined in the same house - separate spaces are precious! haha

    • @CheezusTO
      @CheezusTO 4 роки тому +15

      Maybe... Open spaces are good in bringing natural light in so it’s fitting for a small place. But it’s not environmentally friendly since it consumes much more energy to heat up/cool down a big open space. I think open space should be reserved for smaller houses/apartments. It would be on trend as our generation is more indebted, I.e. can only afford smaller houses, and we’re also more environmentally conscious.

    My only issue is the style of curtains. A lot designers make them to long. As a skilled marker of curtains, for decades, they should be 1-2 inches from the floor depending if its a bedroom or not.

    It's a beautiful house. Especially the front.
    In the beginning of the video I caught a glimpse of a small, shabby house on the other side of the street. This may indicate that the couple will be unable to sell their house for a price high enough to get back the money they've put into it.
    I've read this has been a problem with other homes that Chip and Joanna have remodeled.
    The rule of thumb is to never buy the biggest, most expensive house in the neighborhood. It's smarter to buy the smallest, least expensive house in the neighborhood because the bigger ones help the smaller one to appreciate more.

    The new house after renovation is beautiful, but I liked the charm of the old house. If it were mine I'd just do a fresh coat of paint and leave the rest be. The old round windows were beautiful, I was very sorry to see them gone and every curve of the house was replaced with straight linear lines. Maybe that's why the house lost its charm.

    That they changed the rounded windows into square ones is a crime and a shame because they gave the house so much more character and beauty. I am sorry to say but I truly dislike it. I don't understand what's wrong with the designer to make such an awful choice. WHY!?!!!????? WHY make it like every other house, why won't you embrace the uniqueness and charme of the building, the details that made that house beautiful. Very disappointing I must say.
