Wow heather is amazing! Can we please get a tutorial from her on how to add liquid/paint pigments to resin? Would love to see how to create opaque castings for doll making
This was great and really well presented. Clear and well paced. Thanks Heather. I’d love to see a part two which included sanding and joining parts that have been powdered. What are the best ways and products to use when assembling a multiple part cold cast bronze, for example?
Hi there! This is a good question for our tech support team, can you send them a ticket here? www.smooth-on.com/support/ticket/add/agree/ Thanks for watching!
As a customer support agent, I can provide information based on the training data provided. However, your question about the behavior of Cast Magic pigments on resin and the need for a transparent coat of paint is not covered in the training data. I recommend contacting Smooth-On technical support for more specific advice on this matter. They have the expertise to guide you based on your specific application.
Something tells me that the folks on this channel are experts on using Smooth-On products for odd ball applications. What I want to do is use a very soft silicone to inject into the hollow cavity of a golf club to dampen sound. Specifically for the Ping i500 club. These clubs almost always are made with a small screw "port" that would allow access internal to the club head by using say a industrial syringe. The hole is small about 4 mm diameter. The idea I am having is mix some Shore 00 grade and inject via syringe and tubing into the club at about a 10th of the volume to fill. What I am not sure about is whether or not the lack of air exposure inside the club will be a problem for curing. Has any one ever tried something similar? The silicone would be left inside the club permanently and should reduce the awful hollow sound. Any thoughts, advice, cautions ??? Thanks
I wish to do life casting (so obviously fast setting) to make a mold I can pour resin into for repeated use. Recommendations? Hoping I don't have to do alginate, to pour plaster, to seal plaster cast, to put in dragon skin for resin mold, but thinking I may have no choice? Or can I directly put the body parts into the dragon skin? Not sure if it would set fast enough.
Heather is Awesome! Best instructor yet!

As a newbie to this, what do you recommend as a good starting point? I plan on making glow in the dark jewelry eventually. Thx Heather. From Rilla:)

I am too learned a lot from smooth on video and try punished props on here as well
Is a third cup necessary? Could the A cup be poured into B cup and stir a little longer to reduce air bubbles? Thank you.
We recommend a third cup, as this insures measured amounts are accurate.
Do the cast magic pigments come off resin if I hold them with my hand? Should I apply a transparent coat of paint?

Does it matter which part A or B that the colorant/pigment is put into?
The pigment could be added to either, but many people choose to add it to the Part B of a urethane resin.
