BLACK PENTAGRAM is my favorite UM song.
Congratulations on falling down the rabbit hole that is Unlucky Morpheus! I've been listening to music for nearly fifty ears, and I can say in all honesty that UM is one of the best bands I have ever heard. Outstanding! They have an amazing back catalogue of songs stretching back over a decade, but for me they are at their absolute best since they added violinist Jill a few years back. She just makes their sound complete, and helps take their music to another level compared to so many other bands. I've yet to hear anything from them that is less than excellent. And as for their live performances -- well, they're on my bucket list! It will require a trip to Japan, but they are so, so worth it!
Love this song and I love that this band has a violinist.

Guitarist Shiren (headless Strandburg), was a member of the first Kami band
Bassist Ogawa Hiroyuki, got his start in the band Trick Box after Mikio Fujioka (BM Guitarist who died in 2018) recruited him to play.
Guitarist Jinya and Violinist Jill, perform in projects with Isao Fujita (BM Guitarist)
Fuki also works with Isao, he was the guitarist in her last solo live show. Then again it may be easier to name who Fuki has not worked with in the Japanese metal industry.

UM is one of my favorite bands. Their music style includes neo classical, speed metal, metalcore, melodic death and other elements. I recommend 《black pentagram》 live as the next one!🤘🏻

My 2nd favorite band after Lovebites, absolutely love them, world class musicians all of them.
This song was on the 1st album they ever released 2009, an album they did a remake of in 2015. The remake was the last album before they became a full time band, before then it was just Fuki (singer) and Shiren/Yuki (everything else) with the odd guest, live they used to have friends help them out, in the end the friends became full members.
Jill (violin), to start with I don't think Shiren knew how to write for the violin as he can't play it, so sometimes it seams like she is a 3rd guitarist and in the background, but over the years she has come more to the front, even to the point of having a instrumental sub unit and an EP to promote her (not that it was put like that, appart from Ogawa (bass)) called Quadratum . Now it's more "We have a violinist, and we know how to use her". I like your translation of the song title, but it's more commonly known as:
'Judgement is Laid Down Before Humanity'.
The whole band is great, and the singer Fuki is one of the hardest working people in Japanese music.
Her discography is ridiculous, spanning many bands, collaborations, and solo efforts.
For something very different, check out 'Take My Chance', by DOLL$BOXX (pronounced Doll's Box).
DOLL$BOXX is a group that combined the core musicians from Gacharic Spin, with Fuki on lead vocals.
Besides being a great song, the music video for 'Take My Chance' is also a fun poke at the Idol scene.
I am very happy that you discovered Unlucky Morpheus. When I first heard Band-Maid almost 3 years ago, it started me on a deep dive into Japanese rock and metal. Unlucky Morpheus is easily in my top 5 along with Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila and Asterism. If I had to pick my favorite Japanese vocalist, it would be Fuki of Unlucky Morpheus. Asterism is a young trio that primarily play instrumentals. There is a song called Dawn that is an 8 minute instrumental masterpiece and the guitarist gives one of the best live performances on guitar that I have ever seen (up there with EVH that I got to see live in 1979). ua-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/v-deo.html

The song by Unlucky Morpheus that I would like you to listen to is
"Carry on singing to the sky", "Angreifer" and "Dignity of Spirit".
Among them, "Carry on singing to the sky" is a song that praises underground singer "Andre Matos" and pays homage to his famous song "Carry on".
This song is sung in English by Fuki!

Bit of a odd song for a first UM reaction, but they don't disappoint. Insanely talented , and you didn't even see near the full extent of Jill's (violin) capability. May I suggest "Unending Sorceress" or "Cadaver/Revadac" for UM. To see Jill at her best, check out their covers of Yngwie Malmsteen"s "Far Beyond The Sun" Dream Theater's "Dance of Eternity," or Van Halen's "Eruption" all under the name Quadratum.

Ahhh Fuki! THE hardest working woman in JMetal! She's crazy! She started in 2005. And since then she has put out 20+ Albums through her various projects. Unlucky Morpheus is her main band. But she also has a side project with the girls from Gacharic Spin which I think you should check out. Doll$Boxx is the name. Good starting point "Shout Down". They did videos for all the songs so they are easy to find. And while your there. Gacharic Spin is probably pound for pound THE most talented band you will ever run into. Well worth checking out. Good place to start with them is Some of their newer stuff. "Mindset", "I wish I". And for live shows...They are just off the chain crazy/energetic. worth watching!

A FB friend posts updates whenever he acquires Fuki releases. He well into the 90s of CDs and DVDs which feature her, incl animes… I remember it equating to a product every six weeks for well over a decade straight… has to make her one of the busiest or most sought after or something…

Do check Doll$Boxx, Fuki songs but with all Gacharic Spin musicians! Video for all 14 of their originals. Song Take My Chance (2012) has the best reactionable video, Dragonet (from their only other studio release, 2017) is cool tho, literary?, blue haired drummer Hana sings in English “Dominated the ancient world’s wars, his name is Dragonet”, about the last dragon being banished to cry blood from the stars forever… or anything from their live dvd (2018), think basically every song is there too plus 3-4 bonus tracks…
