- Ryan tests the 2012 Range Rover Evoque. Is this new crossover coupe good enough to drive blindfolded? Jessie gets to play Guinea Pig. The 2013 Honda CR-V has a cameo. Thanks to www.dirtfish.com for the use of their offroad course.
I have an Evqoue Prestige and has more ground clearance more side profile tires. Had a nasty winter storm and got through it with ease. The Evoque has definitely have offroad capability! Wont rock climb walls but can dish out what mother nature spits out!
Amazing camera work, and my favourite car show.
dislike for the blindfolding, i mean come on! whats the point
The ZDX would have been interesting, but when we filmed this we just came off of doing two other Acuras and were feeling a bit Acura'd out.
Blindfolding has nothing to do with off roading.
Love evoque
Sick of the weight comments, the Evoque weighs the same as a Mustang GT ,understand a sports car 3,700 lbs not heavy.
I totally understand, The '12 TL and '13 RDX where great video's, thank you for doing them! Maybe if you guys feel like you can do another after a while, the '13 ZDX is getting a redesign and possibly (Not confirmed) EarthDreams Tech (Direct injection).
LR - are the greatest! Have LR4 - it's very gooood! =))
I agree, who drives any car blind folded and what does that prove. I have a 12 RR Evoque it handles great, but I'm not stupid enough to drive it blind folded.
"Best" is a strong word to use with Range Rovers. I guess the Classic was the least bad (better term) and everything since then have been steps backward, one after the other. Maybe Tata ownership will last longer than both BMWs and Ford's and give the company some stability with which to regroup and rebuild.
Range Rover Evoque vs Acura ZDX is more reasonable. IMO. Can you guys get ahold of a 2013 Acura ZDX once they are released after this fall? That would be cool.
Well that's 9 minutes I'll never get back.
In the VW Tiguan it does
Probably. I own one and to be honest I'm feeling a little frustrated at it right now.
=)
Very goooooooood
Oh, well, the LR4 would be choice.
Blind folded thing was stupid
realistically this car will likely not be scaling any mountain just an occasional hike into the woods, people who do serious off roading don't buy anything wearing a Rover badge
:( I love the ZDX
Agreed, really didn't see the point of the whole blindfold thing.
what's the music at 8:00?
That test made me dislike this video :(
I believe the 2005 CR-V could have done the course no problem but idk
Maybe, probably, they had around 8.1 inches of ground clearance. As did the previous 1st gens. The earlier CR-V's were a lot more capable than today's, 6.7 seems really low. But I'm sure a majority of CR-Vs dont see dirt anyway. Ironically mine did, all the time, and every winter it would plow through 20 inches of snow easy with some nice snow tires. It probably wasn't so much the point of the video though rather just to see of the Evoque was adequate enough. Which is barely is.
Though offroad/softroad Evoque vs offroad/softroad Subaru Forester. The Forester would probably eat it up. NOT with the style and the fit and finish of course. But on the street and off it.
They should have used the Forester as a bargain comparison. The Forester Turbo also has a 2.0 liter engine, but has more HP, more TQ and better fuel mileage. Accelerates quicker moving hundreds of lbs less. Higher ground clearance with 8.7 and better center of gravity with the flat engine.
But the Evoque is sexy, and sex sells.
What, the one where they drive from Arizona to LA? Yeah... seen that. Still looking- it's not like you want to believe anything Top Gear has to say about cars (at least when it's nominally British) anyway.
Not sure what the point of the blindfold was?!?
kiitos
@1:09 land rover?
Range Rover evoque is my dream car
at the time of this comment, my mum bought this exact car but never drove it in sport mode, now my dad drove it in sport, and i was the first VICTIM of sport mode (we didnt crash, it is just really throaty and STUPID light)
What's the point of blind fold again??
It seemed like a good idea when we filmed this segment 5 years ago.
I understand you guys are trying to be fun and different... But... ummmm... I really didn't get much information out of this video... Most people who drive range rovers do seem to buy them solely to look good. That being said, take the looks out and it's as effective as a CRV getting you from point a to point be with considerably worse mielage. Can you do some more realistic comparisons like maybe to similarly priced cars in a closer to real world experience?
I find it difficult to believe a Land Rover has only 8.3 inches of ground clearance...
I so wish it was a little cheaper like $58,995.
I don't get it....... a CRV can do it so an Evoque can do it with the driver blindfolded? I guess I'm STILL looking for a convincing video of the Evoque going offroad
What's the point
I would say no, no it isn't
Birds box 😁😁😁
Stopped watching at the blindfold thing. Figured the presenter had run out of things to say.
Honda CR-V все таки дешевле в два раза... Смысл сравнивать? Range Rover Evoque ясен "перец" Лучше как внедорожник!!! Но и CR-V хороший АВТО для города и небольшой пересеченной местности...
compare to CR-V? Feels More... Expensive lol
i think this is better than jeep ??? entahla... mngkin kot...
the Range Rover Evogue is better than Jeep Cherokee and The Range Rover Sport blows away the Jeep Grand Cherokee. To the idiots saying Jeep is better, stop smoking weed and doing crack and you might be able to afford a Land Rover if you stopped spending your money on drugs and you will see your brain functions return when you stop doing drugs!
Zzzzz. Yeah you too smart
I can believe this ultra-cheap looking micro crossover with a 2.0 costs 50Gs... hello over-priced Ford Kuga. I'm sure it handles well, but this price is not justified. "shut up and take my money"
La
it should have 300 hp
She's cute , but the whole blind fold thing was dumb
This car looks just plain wrong in real life.
Jeep is better
