A historical profile of Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto by the Old Toronto Series. / oldtoronto / oldtoronto Researched, shot and edited by Morgan Ross.
Yes, that is sad. They could have done so much with it in that park. A cafe, an arts centre, a cresh and playground; all kindsa stuff. But it is still one of Toronto's lovelyest parks, and I LOVE the dog area! Trinity Bellwood is not quite as great as High Park, but then, I believe that High Park is one of the portals to Heaven, so very few places are as good!
In the early 00s an architectural firm drew up a blue sky plan to "daylight" the Garrison Creek which used to run through T-B Park and included options to uncover the bridge.
A local pipe dream is to dig out the Crawford St. bridge and restore it to its former glory, but the idea has never really gone anywhere due to funding priorities.
I'm sure people are rolling in their graves seeing Trinity Bellwoods now occupied by tents and used syringes in the children's playground. I guess you can't stop progress.
Every time I see a picture of that old building it hurts. So gorgeous, why is gone ughhhhh, Toronto.

Lived on Crawford Street as a child and am intrigued that a bridge is still there and unnoticeable. 🤭

Unlikely but would be great.

Yes to know how pathetic the tax paying citizens of Toronto are in their self centred lifestyles. Hope you don't fall through the cracks you created.
