Great review as usual. 250 hp is awesome for this type of vehicle. $42K for this one vs run of the mill, boredom of CRVs, Toyotas, etc for roughly $40K. But I suppose an extra 70hp comes at a price of $2K for this Ford. The only disappointment is total lack of physical buttons for climate control. Awesome review! Thank you!
I had a 2001 Escape. It was probably my favorite car I owned after my Army days. This one had the 3.0 liter V6, which was quick and drove smooth at 80 mph. This XLT model had a column shifter and plenty of legroom because it had no console. I loved that car. As soon as a floor shifter was put on them, I didn't like them anymore. Thanks for the positive review, because I know when the first ones came out with this new body style, I heard a lot of complaints.
Glad I found this video. I have had my 2023 PHEV for a little over two weeks now and was searching for some good videos on some of the controls. The 2023 Escapes are so new that the dealership I ordered mine from hadn't gotten much experience on the Platinum and PHEV specs, and between the bare bones manuals both printed and imbedded in the SYNC I was having some confusion on some of the controls. The Platinum options looks nearly identical to the PHEV, and the brief run in of the features answered many of my questions.
Ehhh, I think this Escape's interior is pretty competitive against the Tucson Limited. Not as feature heavy maybe, Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis have that on lock right now.
The Tucson has a very nice interior, but has an extremely underpowered engine.....and critics agree. The difference is under the hood. The Escape has a 2.0 Ecoboost engine that leaves the Tucson sputtering. And Hyundai seriously needs to redesign those tail lights! WTH were they thinking??? I'll take engine & performance over interior glitz any day.
I miss when new vehicles were affordable. Bought a new 2019 Escape SE about 4 years ago pretty much fully loaded for $26k. Now cant even get a base Escape for that. Way out of my price range now. In my opinion this and so many like it are way overpriced fir what they are. I was wanting a new vehicle but with these prices will keep my current Escape. Love the new Escape just way overpriced
I don't understand why anyone would buy one of these and not either the hybrid or the plug-in hybrid. It's in those latter two that the Escape really shines.
I love my B&O stereo it has to be the one of the best systems in cars and the driver assist packs are also top tier. However I think the best way to speck one is with the 2.0 ecoboost and AWD.
Cars powered by 3 cylinder engines are here to stay to the advantage of manufacturers. I just don't have confidence in their reliability and would get the Escape hybrid instead.
@@tomfrattarelli1365Hyundai Kona, Tucson. Kia seltos, sportage. Toyota Rav4. They all have ventilated seats for their premium trim. And prices are way less than escape platinum.
Definitely overpriced, you can get a stline select trim for 36k MSRP and it has 95% of the features, and if you qualify for Ford family discount and rebates that comes down to 31k.
Like the way this car looks, like the way it drives…..but as soon as I get into one of these vehicles I just ask why Ford. The interior of this car is so cheap and tacky compared with what the competition are doing for the same price. They really need to get rid of their design team and employ some people who will start designing interiors that don’t look like they are for 10 years ago.
I like the exterior of the RAV4, but the interior is old fashioned at best. It hasn't changed in years. It needs a serious update. Oh yeah, and the car has zero pick up.
Had the same Escape. It jumped to new Explorer ST and never looked back ! Both great but ST is phenomenal
Thanks for the serious, complete view. I'm sold!
I love this car i have two of them one is a 2017 platinum and a 2019 2.0L quick and good gas mileage
Someone who respects ford
Finally! A fantastic no nonsense overview of this model. Well done!
Thanks so much!
I'm thinking of buy a new 2023 Ford Escape.
The value trick is to get the lower trim levels with the right options that suit your needs. You can save $5,000-10,000 doing that.
Yep, most definitely
@@NothinButCarReviews maybe I should get this car. Because this Ford Escape is making sort like an a smaller 🚙
But in this case, if you do that you're stuck with a shitty engine.

Glad I could help, trying to review a PHEV Platinum here soon.
Amazing! I have a 2019 Ford Edge which I believe has the same 2.0L Ecoboost as this Escape. Being lighter probably makes it even more responsive.
Yes, it's a street beast for a Ford Escape.
is it possible to update cluster design to new one in Escape of previous years? I mean before update. This one i like very much.
I wouldn’t think so, but might be possible.
Cheap flat black plastic trim onThe platinum trim?.?
The fact that this stickers for the same as a fully loaded tuscon or santa fe is insane. The interior is so cheap compared to them

This is my dream car right here

Get a used Lincol Corsair with the 2.3L

D stands for Drive
R stands for 🔄
P stands for park
The current gen Explorer needs an infotainment screen size like this.
It’ll probably get it next year or the year after.
This is better then my mercury milan modern and they still make fords
Great review. Looks like a smaller Edge.
I absolutely hate the front of my 2022. They should honestly recall just the front face and redo the face’s on 2020-2022😊
why did you buy it if you didn't like it?
HP and Torque ?
250/280
Cant wait this facelifted version in Europe.😊
You won't be disappointed!
Does this guy have an obligation to Ford ? I admit it's a nice car .

42k for this? what the hell?
Ope 😳😂
What do u recommend?
I agree with your comment, I'll add to your comment.. WTF 42K for this?

I really don't get those types of HUDs. Why don't they just do what Acura does?
😬🤷🏾♂️
Cuz then you’ll be paying Acura prices.
This really needs ventilated seats at this point. All of the competitors do.
Yeah, that would’ve made it a 10/10
not for a small suv. none have ventilated seats.

To much glare to see the sticker price
I gonna afford it over the other SUV's also.
To me for the price of this vehicle, if you can afford that, why do you care about fuel mileage? Lol.
Hell nah, bro. It's overpriced by about 7 grand.

Ford Kuga??! 🤔
2023 and manufacturers still putting those old fashion heads up displays in...pathetic!
Very basic, cheap looking interior for “platinum” trim. Looks like $30k ish
I thought it was pretty competitive for the segment. 🤷🏾♂️
For a car like this 26 mpg just ain’t it in 2023…should be minimum high 30s
Plug-In hybrid is going to be the way to go I think.
Does better than 26 if you don't get into boost. Beats both city and highway epa number by 1-3mpg depending on how heavy footed you get.
Show me a small SUV with 250HP and high 30s MPG. Name it.
42k for that boring design, amazing
$42,595??? 😄😂🤣 What a friggin’ JOKE!!! Can you say “OVERPRICED”? This thing should be AT LEAST $10,000 less!
Guess you haven't priced anything recently huh?
Faker Kuga 😂 . URAL the best electro car, 2000 km free energy! Made in Russia.
Nothing gentle about this guy's handling of buttons, knobs, levers, .... 42000 for an Escape? No thank you.
RAV4 interior is way nicer
You should not be driving if you are blind!

Tuscon loaded is a better deal than this.. Ford, Buick.. All nose dived into a mud puddle..
No matter how they change it FORd is still JUNK. I had 3 prior escapes and everyone of them had issues, and recalls.
Don't worry. Jesus lives you.
overpriced
Well, everything is these days. 😩
Whay is better?
