Great to see someone is recognicing any of the dancers in this clip. What was his name and do you know the name of his dance partner? Also, did he ever tell anything about being a part of this obscure movie? Thank you in advance.
@@killerdillr yes he did and up until seeing this footage we had an old cassette tape with him on it. He was an amazing man he married my Grandmother after knowing her for 2wks and they were together 23yrs and had 5 children together. He ended up being saved and a Pastor! Feels good to have memories of him. 💖
@@divinej802 he was born in Texas and moved his family to California when My Mother was 2yrs old. He never taught the grandkids but many of us are great dancers like him. 😃
Life was hard for Black people back in those days, but they had joy in their hearts, and their music and movement reflected that. This is from my parents generation, and look back on these times with great happiness.
What do you mean by this? What was The Rose Room? Talking about the defunt ballroom in Harlem? I am familar with many of the defunct ball rooms and smaller places in Harlem, and I curious what do you mean by this name
@patriciaannpat What kills me about Republicans is that they think that almost 5 minutes of black people dancing is the only way it could have possibly been back then. But that's like judging Our time now based on a Jersey shore rerun. I dont live like them and I bet you dont either and we still manage. I dont know of one Republican or Democrat that would say that in 1947 black people were still on plantations. There was injustice and racial killing(like lynchings) but no slavery.
My Grandfather is dancing with the young lady in the black skirt with white stripes. Rest well Gramps I miss you❤
