- An SUV exploded in a Bethesda driveway, and the owner and his family say they’re fortunate to be alive. The Hill family is definitely counting their blessings. FOX 5's Shomari Stone has the story.

It’s annoying companies only escalate situations when the news reaches out to them.
what's more annoying is car makers who don't know how to make safe cars after having decades of experience making cars !!!
Glad to hear everyone is alright and safe..
That’s not spontaneous combustion. That’s faulty wiring. Two totally different phenomena.
MAINSTREAM MEDIA SUCKS ASS BECAUSE THEY WILL ALWAYS LIE TO THE PROTECT THE CORPORATIONS. 😏
Nissan want the car to sit in their driveway for 6-8 weeks? They clearly dont want to know what the problem is because by then they will never be able to tell what happened...
Hey Mr Stone, if you hadn’t have worn those gloves and showed the camera the broken glass and burned rubble, I would never have known that there was a car-b-que in that driveway.
Very dramatic, isn't he?
Vehicle fire results in spontaneous speculation.😆
That's one of the reasons why I don't like gas dryers or even ovens.
It is psychological damaging the car companies need to be fully accountable
If this was a Hyundai, Kia, or Tesla, the news would've gone crazy.
This story has enough drama all on its own without these lame reporters desperately trying to over-dramatize all the details.
Time to call an attorney !
Holy shit, thank god the car wasn’t in the garage. That’s so scary. Nissan needs to take care of them n make it right quickly
It's not an electric car this time. Please listen to the story first.
It's was definitely an electrical problem though. Old cars with carburetors never caught fire
@@markwilliams4525 never? 👀
Hybrid cars with both gas / electric power use high voltage, around 380v. So there's more danger compared to regular cars.
@@tomtom1541 c'mon people now people now..
I'm glad I don't live in a house that is attached to a garage.
Talk about over dramatizing an event, leave it to the msm.
He did mansplain that quite a bit....
It sounds like the recall repair was not performed correctly, since they had to take it in twice. Also, was the ABS light on again?
Because of the way automobile technicians are paid these days (flat rate) there have been cases where a part or parts were documented as being replaced, but never were. Some jobs take longer to do than what is "allocated" by the manufacturer, so the technician doesn't even make minimum wage when performing the service, so they don't actually put in the time to replace the part, but mark that they did. Not saying that's what happened here, but that's something that should be considered.
Now let's see how long it'll take
The object that is refered to as a rim is in fact a wheel, the outer edge of the wheel is the rim.
ABS system draws great current.
If this was Tesla car you know the media will go crazy with the news 😂😂😂.
Wait for EVs , it will be much worst
ICE cars are more fire prone, but I do agree that EV fires are more dangerous
@@drowe2 that battery runaway situation is quite scary, the length and methods to put out these lithium fires is concerning also. No more cars in the garage unless its detached from the house.
@@fredbegin3850 yeah I wouldn’t buy one - that’s for sure
scary as hell
Nissan initially declined to provide the family a loaner until the family contacted the news. Terrible company with terrible products.
Was it electric
No, most likely from the wiring
Was it an electric car?
This was a 2015 Murano and not EV or Hybrid. The fire would have taken a lot longer to put out had it been
@@drowe2 ok thanks
A little to dramatic
6 to 8 weeks??!! Are you kidding me??!! What a joke. Shame on Nissan. Trying to play this catastrophe down??!!
6-8 weeks?!
But but but I thought only EV could catch fire like that
They're way more likely to
When I first heard about this, I thought I was going to hear about an
EV!!!!! THEY go up in flames the same way!!!!
WHAT IS NISSAN INVESTIGATING IF THEY HAVEN'T REACHED OUT TO THE FAMILY YET? OH, THEY'RE INVESTIGATING & LOOKING FOR A WAY TO DODGE ACCOUNTABILITY.
O o o Devil in my Carrrrrr
Tell me it's insurance fraud without telling me...😂
Nissan = Datsun. People under the belief that just because it's Japanese it must be better.
lol. should’ve bought an American car.
😮😮
Laaaaaaw suit....
#SMMFH!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Probably a squirrel made a nest somewhere near the exhaust manifold which caused the fire.
Stop buying electricity car
Not an electric car, it was from an internal combustion engine SUV. The fire started from the actuator pump seal from the ABS system. Nissan had already recalled the Nissan Murano. Listening and comprehension is important while watching news stories.
@erictaylor3897 The man's point is "don't buy electricity car"...story notwithstanding.....however from the story, we can add this flamethrower Nissan to the do not buy list.
@@timothyslaughter476 This has zero to do with the video. He has no point. He would have been better off saying don't buy a Murano which caused this fire. Go watch an electric vehicle video and make your point there.
@@erictaylor3897 Au contraire mine friar....his point is don't buy electricity car...its a waste of money and not the ultimate direction we'll be driving......we trust Henry Ford....you trust the DIPSHIT AOC!!!
@@erictaylor3897don’t be so sensitive

Alignment shops also charge customers for no work done to the vehicle. You drop it off they do nothing to it they call you and say it's ready, you pay them money for no work done to the vehicle, and Away you go. Now that's the great way to make money when you have no mechanics in your shop cars are coming in and leaving the cash register is filling up and nothing is being worked on.
Everyone who owns a car needs a trusted mechanic....Going to a different shop every time you need something done is an excellent way to get ripped off.
