The general consensus i have been getting from the class setups in this game: 1. the ammo capacity lower upgrade usually is a great option if you wish to upgrade ammo 2. Monolithic suppressor 90% of the time is the way to go if you want to suppress 3. Strippled griptape is always a solid choice 4. It's almost always more important to focus on speed rather than recoil control 5. slug rounds are useless 6. tighter pellet spread > wider 7. You should always use sleight of hand for smgs

Some barrels also help with this. Unless you’re using an AK, Scar or Oden mobility and ADS is almost always what should be prioritized. 5. Tru 6. For shotguns, sure. 7. Especially for the P90 and MP5. With the other SMGs you can get away without SOH imo.
The sks is great. However there is a bug to where its camo challenges are the same as the new pistol, and when you complete the challenges for the sks you get gold on the pistol even if its level one. And sadly completing the pistol does not give gold for the sks.

I have a Chinese Type 56 SKS! It’s super light, a lot lighter than it looks, and the recoil is very manageable despite the larger 7.62mm round it fires.
I do also and I'm not sure how yours is lighter than mine. I have an AR in 7.62 and it weighs a quarter of what the sks does. Sks seems to handle recoil a tad better. If I went to battle, give me the AR
I got a Type 56 Semi during the military training in China. That's the first gun I touched. Hope IW could add an attachment to change it to Type 63, which is baiscally a full-auto SKS. China developed it to counter lots of Soviet AK in Vietnam army, during Sino-Vietnamese War
@@Deamien94 IMO in warzone this really good if u playing teamplay, in solo its suck for long range fights, I could down a lot of enemy with this gun, but unable to finish them at all. Kar98Ok have more damage and more chance to kill enemy, but for active gameplay SKS still more suitable for me.
Jake 50-200m is where I usually keep them at because I’m not getting into gunfights where the Grau can engage me with the SKS, you’re right tho, but keep in mind that the SKS is a 2 shit headshot at any range and mixing one headshot in with 2 body shots gives you a 3 shot kill at a comparable fire rate to the FAL. At the least (meaning stupid far away and only hitting limbs) you’ll get a 5 shot kill. But tbh, with how powerful the SKS is, there aren’t many non-viable class set ups for it

In my opinion, when recoil testing, I think it should be tested from range. So that the bullets are more far apart and we can see the recoil control clearer

Bullet velocity doesnt matter at all except in extreme ranges in ordinary mp the Maps are to small to notice any bullet drop. It only makes some difference in GW and warzone in extreme ranges.

The EBR was instantly my favorite gun when I started playing this a little over a month ago, but the low ammo capacity and recoil that made any attempt at a rapid second shot just fly over their head at anything more than SMG ranges always left me feeling like I had to be super cautious and hang way back to avoid getting severely punished for missing even a single shot. While the headshot damage on the SKS won't guarantee a one shot kill, that low recoil and bigger mags makes me think it will be much better in those midrange fights where a marksman rifle should be amazing, without feeling like you'll get punished for being somewhat aggressive. This might actually let me try to capture an objective in hardpoint with the SKS, unlike with the EBR where I tend to have to hang back a ways to avoid getting shredded by an MP5 or M4.

Range reductions exist on all weapons with bullet velocity reductions. This has been in the game since launch. I made a video about it quite awhile ago and it seems like a lot of people are still learning about it.
I did some calculations and against an enemy with 3 plates on Warzone assuming that you are shooting them in the upper torso or the lower torso within the first effective range you have a 731 MS time to kill. Since thats over ALL ranges assuming at least uper-torso shots, that aint half bad. Each headshot will likely decrease your shots to kill by 1 per shot, thus bringing it down to 4 shots to kill for one headshot(~550 MS) and 2 headshots will bring it down to 3 (~360 MS). 3 is the best you can get though, 2 headshots should not kill a fully armored target. So I think it could be decent in Warzone, excelling at the range where assault rifles drop off but before Snipers are needed due to distance, but I’m not sure. Even at range it really seems like it flat out outclasses the EBR.

Voor Achter Yes, it is strictly poorer than Assault Rifles in a head-to-head but it becomes more competitive at the point where the required shots to kill for ARs increase due to range. Headshots also make the weapon more potent by quite a bit and may make it more worth it, but I’m unsure. Gonna try it out tonight probably.

I love this gun! I just started playing with it this morning before work. -sidenote- playing any COD early in the morning generally gets you easier lobbies. It is a beast! Fast fire rate, strong damage and low recoil. I'm a huge fan so far. And I haven't even leveled it up all that much. Can't wait to try your loadouts. Thanks, man!
It's my second favourite marksman rifle. I still prefer the crossbow, just for the fun factor, but the SKS is my favourite for actually wanting to do good.
Hey Ace, I know these class setups have always been for multiplayer, and that was always great, but what about Warzone loadouts? I guess I'm just curious as to if you'll do a separate series for Warzone or if you could even just add a couple Warzone setups at the end to show the difference between the attachments that are good in multiplayer vs. the ones that are good in warzone, and how they differ. ZaneMain it’s way harder for him to test warzone because there’s no private matches. That’s why he doesn’t bother because he’d have to test stuff in a real match which would be a pain in the ass to keep track of in real firefights. Your gonna have to try stuff out in warzone yourself which means I would just look at what he said about the gun in MP and build my warzone class off of that while maybe making a change or two to help it more in warzone. Like for example using a much longer barrel then he would in MP etc.

Or even just at the end do 2 more mock up classes for Warzone, he wouldn't have to put like overkill with an MP7 on there, just the basics, this gun is better at medium range, this gun goes well with cold-blooded or double time, the weapon swap speed is slow so use Amped, that kind of stuff, it was just a suggestion
I LOVE this gun. I tend to use the GI Reflex, monolithic suppressor, ranger grip, sawn-off, and 10-round mag. Makes it SUPER fast, and easy to hit headshots. I also sometimes switch out the suppressor for the longest barrel for longer range maps.

That said it’s mind boggling how inconsistent the private matches that @TheXclusiveAce uses vary from the real world public matches. This thing is anywhere from excellent, to a hit marker dog poop. Might be interesting to see a SKS vs. EBR video. Feels like they can be used for pretty similar situations given that the SKS outclasses the EBR in most things.
Here's a break down. It sends out a ping where you are facing in a 180 circle every 3 sesonds that pings where the enemies are at the time of pinging. It does not move if they move however. It also shows the distance in meters that they are from you. If they have ghost they will not get pinged. The distance it can ping is about 50m.
This is gonna be lengthy, but seeing as this guy is the only cod guy I actively follow and support, I'd like to see this particular community benefit from the epiphany I had the last couple days playing so please read, and benefit from this yall. So I got the renetti and have been maining it the last few days. I realized that I can take a primary with 9mm para rounds, and pair it w renetti for more ammo. Since I'm still goin for gold with my uzi that's what I paired it with. Using the 50 round mags, plus fully loaded, I got my ammo pool at spawn to be 273. I just unlocked the sks and I was like hmm......so holding that same concept in mind, i put the sks as my primary, set the ak47 as my secondary, with the drum mag and fully loaded. Bam that spawns you with an sks with an ammo pool of 420. This is amazing for holding back and locking down a lane with a RIDICULOUS amount of marksman rifle rounds. So then I was like HMMMMM.... And so same concept: ebr primary, set as desired, paired with a scar with big mag/fully loaded. Totally works as well. Ebr with over 300 rounds. Happy slayin bois. Hope I encounter some people running this set up. Its gonna be one of my main classes for a while for sure.
It's not too hard to do it yourself from his multiplayer TTK numbers if you want to. Base HP is 100, and each plate adds 50 HP. That means 3 plates = 250 HP. So all you have to do to find fully armored TTK is take the regular TTK and multiply it by 2.5. Then you can compare that to that big table Ace did of Warzone TTK values for each weapon to see how it stacks up. The only thing that would change is headshot TTK because it's obviously not 0 ms anymore with armor and that can't be multiplied. That you would have to calculate for yourself. Take headshot damage (100), divide the amount of health a player has by the damage (health would be 250 for 3 plates), round up to the closest whole number to get number of shots needed to kill, subtract 1 from that number because the first shot is assumed to be instant, then work that out with the rate of fire. The method I used was to divide the rounds per minute by 60 to get rounds per second, then divide the number of shots needed by the RPS to get your TTK. So, for example, it would take 3 headshots to kill a fully armored player. So the number we use is 2, because we're calculating the delay between shots after the first shot. Rate of fire is 328 RPM ÷ 60 = 5.46 RPS. 2 shots ÷ 5.46 equals 0.366, or 366ms time to kill. That math wasn't really necessary in this case though, because Ace's video already tells you that a 3 shot kill with this gun takes 366ms, so we can tell that's our TTK as soon as we work out we need 3 shots to kill.

@@eldonhill4840 thats not entirely accurate. The multiply by 2.5 to find ttk in warzone is flawed because there is damage overlap. Like yeah this will kill in x time at 100 health, but those 2 SKS bullets will deal OVER 100 health. Unless you're dealing damage like 25, 50, 20 etc (numbers evenly divided into 100), the ttk at 250 health will probably be faster in most cases than the result you'd get multiplying by 2.5.
I love how the SKS shoots the same round as the AK47, and it does so much better. The AK47 was made to replace the SKS. It shouldn’t be this godly. I love the SKS in real life, I own one.
In real life the AK47 outclasses the SKS in almost every department. The SKS is notoriously inaccurate. Doesn't matter if you own a Russian or Chinese one.
I’ve got a question about the extended mags, you say that they don’t affect ads time, but do they affect it when they’re paired with other attachments? Like if you have the stippled grip tape does the extended mag reduce how much the stippled grip tape increases ads time?
In some situations yes. On their own, the mags dont make enough of a difference to change anything at 60 fps, but if you start adding those little fractions of frames together you can start to see some difference. Also, If you play at a higher framerate, it may make a difference on its own.
I hopped on for the first time in a couple weeks to check out the sks and hoo boy the using the classic sks stock is my only real option just for that authentic sks experience and good lord it's a shredder I love it
xBOBOxFebreez the EBR is intended to be used with some sort of optic, where the recoil is much more manageable. The 3.5x thermal, cronen, and sniper scope are good ones.
Fun fact: Sks 10 round mag reload is WRONG. The 10 round actual magazine is non-detachable, so you have to open the chamber and load the rounds in from the top
The EBR has more than just range over this. It has a guaranteed one-shot head shot at any range, and better 2-shot ranges, only going to 3 if you hit limbs at really far away. Its a lot better to kit for more situations. It also doesn't have fake recoil, so its more intuitive to use. I like it much more than the SKS, and I came in to the game late and actually used the SKS first. That said, I do still really like the SKS for what it is.
This gun is absolutely lethal when you rig it with all the aim down sights mods. I lived the ebr but this is my nee favourite gun. Slight of hand is a must with the 10 round mag though
A weapon being OP is based on how it compares to other weapons. This gun kills faster than any other semi auto or automatic weapon in the game, at every range. It makes the fal and ebr totally irrelevant. Its extremely broken and needs a huge nerf.
Awesome gun and after seeing the hipfire spread, maybe the challenges aren’t bugged. If so this is the first DLC weapon to differ in camo challenges. I still am suspicious that something is wrong simply because the camo challenges are exactly the same as Pistol challenges. Curious to see what other people think. 🤔

No, the Focus perk that DMR’s and Snipers have does that. Aiming Stability refers to idle sway. Better Aiming Stability equals better first shot accuracy.

SKS will get beat out by a good EBR player at range. It may fire faster, but it has noticeable spread while firing, even ads. Most people are running the SKS as an AR from my experience.

FireheartSamurai SKS rifles are still extremely common on the secondhand market. Depending on condition and manufacturer, they typically range between $200-$600. You can find them for sale on various gun auction sites, like Gunbroker. If you’re willing to do face-to-face transactions you can definitely find them on firearm classified listings in your state like on Armslist. Check out any gun stores in your area that sells used guns. They’re bound to have a few. Gun shows are also a good bet, I typically see a ton of SKS rifles at gun shows in my area.

Those ten free tier skips we got really helped out. Got the SKS last night. Really enjoying it, but I must admit the unique attachments are rather lackluster. The 10 round mag should have been a full auto conversion 10 round mag or something a little more interesting.
Ebr-14 buff? My favorite gun but falls behind the sks in every way. Sks has barely any recoil, 30rd mag, and 2 shot kill exactly like the ebr 14. Maybe a slight increase in area of one shot kill, reduced idle sway, or some other stat boost. Any of those would put the ebr back into viability

The SKS is a top-tier marksman rifle to me. It has tons of potential, and it competes well with some EBR-14 users. I haven’t unlocked it yet, but if I have time today I’ll grind to it at tier 31 of the season 3 battle pass.
Efir well this is not an AR type class. So they wouldn’t be nerfing because of that, they would be needing it because it’s too op compared to other marksman rifles.
How is it trash compared to those weapons lmao. This gun kills faster than all of them and drops enemies in one shot all the way out to 50m via headshot, respectable fire rate and magazine and handling for a marksman (can be built to be as swift as an ar). The grau is overrated anyway, shit has the 2nd lowest ttk of all assault rifles and is only good for players who cant handle m4 recoil.
I have had loads of fun with this gun since I unlocked it, I'm hopeless with snipers but this gun and the ebr which was my first gold gun I really enjoy.
One thing I feel IW needs to add is the stock magazine capacity of weapons in the "Ammunition" tab. The SKS has 30 round and 10 round magazine sizes as "aftermarket" but unless you are IN GAME, you don't know what the count is when trying to deck out your weapon. This is with ALL weapons too.
One interesting thing is if you put a stock on the gun you get a beautiful layer of wood added to the gun

The EBR also gets a special stock attachment that turns it into metal.

At the least (meaning stupid far away and only hitting limbs) you’ll get a 5 shot kill. But tbh, with how powerful the SKS is, there aren’t many non-viable class set ups for it

In my opinion, when recoil testing, I think it should be tested from range. So that the bullets are more far apart and we can see the recoil control clearer

Bullet velocity doesnt matter at all except in extreme ranges in ordinary mp the Maps are to small to notice any bullet drop. It only makes some difference in GW and warzone in extreme ranges.

The EBR was instantly my favorite gun when I started playing this a little over a month ago, but the low ammo capacity and recoil that made any attempt at a rapid second shot just fly over their head at anything more than SMG ranges always left me feeling like I had to be super cautious and hang way back to avoid getting severely punished for missing even a single shot. While the headshot damage on the SKS won't guarantee a one shot kill, that low recoil and bigger mags makes me think it will be much better in those midrange fights where a marksman rifle should be amazing, without feeling like you'll get punished for being somewhat aggressive. This might actually let me try to capture an objective in hardpoint with the SKS, unlike with the EBR where I tend to have to hang back a ways to avoid getting shredded by an MP5 or M4.
This is my new favorite weapon. It's absolutely amazing and outperforms the M14 most of the time

Range reductions exist on all weapons with bullet velocity reductions. This has been in the game since launch. I made a video about it quite awhile ago and it seems like a lot of people are still learning about it.

I did some calculations and against an enemy with 3 plates on Warzone assuming that you are shooting them in the upper torso or the lower torso within the first effective range you have a 731 MS time to kill. Since thats over ALL ranges assuming at least uper-torso shots, that aint half bad. Each headshot will likely decrease your shots to kill by 1 per shot, thus bringing it down to 4 shots to kill for one headshot(~550 MS) and 2 headshots will bring it down to 3 (~360 MS). 3 is the best you can get though, 2 headshots should not kill a fully armored target. So I think it could be decent in Warzone, excelling at the range where assault rifles drop off but before Snipers are needed due to distance, but I’m not sure. Even at range it really seems like it flat out outclasses the EBR.
Alex Hooijschuur the only problem with the SKS in Warzone is that it uses sniper ammo and you can only hold 40 bullets at a time.

Voor Achter Yes, it is strictly poorer than Assault Rifles in a head-to-head but it becomes more competitive at the point where the required shots to kill for ARs increase due to range. Headshots also make the weapon more potent by quite a bit and may make it more worth it, but I’m unsure. Gonna try it out tonight probably.

ZaneMain it’s way harder for him to test warzone because there’s no private matches. That’s why he doesn’t bother because he’d have to test stuff in a real match which would be a pain in the ass to keep track of in real firefights. Your gonna have to try stuff out in warzone yourself which means I would just look at what he said about the gun in MP and build my warzone class off of that while maybe making a change or two to help it more in warzone. Like for example using a much longer barrel then he would in MP etc.

Or even just at the end do 2 more mock up classes for Warzone, he wouldn't have to put like overkill with an MP7 on there, just the basics, this gun is better at medium range, this gun goes well with cold-blooded or double time, the weapon swap speed is slow so use Amped, that kind of stuff, it was just a suggestion

I LOVE this gun. I tend to use the GI Reflex, monolithic suppressor, ranger grip, sawn-off, and 10-round mag. Makes it SUPER fast, and easy to hit headshots. I also sometimes switch out the suppressor for the longest barrel for longer range maps.

Here's a break down. It sends out a ping where you are facing in a 180 circle every 3 sesonds that pings where the enemies are at the time of pinging. It does not move if they move however. It also shows the distance in meters that they are from you. If they have ghost they will not get pinged. The distance it can ping is about 50m.
This is gonna be lengthy, but seeing as this guy is the only cod guy I actively follow and support, I'd like to see this particular community benefit from the epiphany I had the last couple days playing so please read, and benefit from this yall.
So I got the renetti and have been maining it the last few days. I realized that I can take a primary with 9mm para rounds, and pair it w renetti for more ammo. Since I'm still goin for gold with my uzi that's what I paired it with.
Using the 50 round mags, plus fully loaded, I got my ammo pool at spawn to be 273.
I just unlocked the sks and I was like hmm......so holding that same concept in mind, i put the sks as my primary, set the ak47 as my secondary, with the drum mag and fully loaded. Bam that spawns you with an sks with an ammo pool of 420.
This is amazing for holding back and locking down a lane with a RIDICULOUS amount of marksman rifle rounds.
So then I was like HMMMMM....
And so same concept: ebr primary, set as desired, paired with a scar with big mag/fully loaded. Totally works as well. Ebr with over 300 rounds.

It's not too hard to do it yourself from his multiplayer TTK numbers if you want to. Base HP is 100, and each plate adds 50 HP. That means 3 plates = 250 HP. So all you have to do to find fully armored TTK is take the regular TTK and multiply it by 2.5. Then you can compare that to that big table Ace did of Warzone TTK values for each weapon to see how it stacks up.
The only thing that would change is headshot TTK because it's obviously not 0 ms anymore with armor and that can't be multiplied. That you would have to calculate for yourself. Take headshot damage (100), divide the amount of health a player has by the damage (health would be 250 for 3 plates), round up to the closest whole number to get number of shots needed to kill, subtract 1 from that number because the first shot is assumed to be instant, then work that out with the rate of fire. The method I used was to divide the rounds per minute by 60 to get rounds per second, then divide the number of shots needed by the RPS to get your TTK. So, for example, it would take 3 headshots to kill a fully armored player. So the number we use is 2, because we're calculating the delay between shots after the first shot. Rate of fire is 328 RPM ÷ 60 = 5.46 RPS. 2 shots ÷ 5.46 equals 0.366, or 366ms time to kill. That math wasn't really necessary in this case though, because Ace's video already tells you that a 3 shot kill with this gun takes 366ms, so we can tell that's our TTK as soon as we work out we need 3 shots to kill.

@@eldonhill4840 thats not entirely accurate. The multiply by 2.5 to find ttk in warzone is flawed because there is damage overlap. Like yeah this will kill in x time at 100 health, but those 2 SKS bullets will deal OVER 100 health. Unless you're dealing damage like 25, 50, 20 etc (numbers evenly divided into 100), the ttk at 250 health will probably be faster in most cases than the result you'd get multiplying by 2.5.
Run the SKS with stopping power and you can get one shots to the chest at medium range and 1 one kills to the neck at longer ranges. So OP

I’ve got a question about the extended mags, you say that they don’t affect ads time, but do they affect it when they’re paired with other attachments? Like if you have the stippled grip tape does the extended mag reduce how much the stippled grip tape increases ads time?
In some situations yes. On their own, the mags dont make enough of a difference to change anything at 60 fps, but if you start adding those little fractions of frames together you can start to see some difference. Also, If you play at a higher framerate, it may make a difference on its own.
If you put a charm the ads speed reduce. No charm is OP

The visual recoil isn’t as bad as the ebr. That gun is straight diahrrea to use

Fun fact: Sks 10 round mag reload is WRONG. The 10 round actual magazine is non-detachable, so you have to open the chamber and load the rounds in from the top

The EBR has more than just range over this. It has a guaranteed one-shot head shot at any range, and better 2-shot ranges, only going to 3 if you hit limbs at really far away. Its a lot better to kit for more situations. It also doesn't have fake recoil, so its more intuitive to use. I like it much more than the SKS, and I came in to the game late and actually used the SKS first. That said, I do still really like the SKS for what it is.

A weapon being OP is based on how it compares to other weapons. This gun kills faster than any other semi auto or automatic weapon in the game, at every range. It makes the fal and ebr totally irrelevant. Its extremely broken and needs a huge nerf.

Those ten free tier skips we got really helped out. Got the SKS last night. Really enjoying it, but I must admit the unique attachments are rather lackluster. The 10 round mag should have been a full auto conversion 10 round mag or something a little more interesting.
Ebr-14 buff? My favorite gun but falls behind the sks in every way. Sks has barely any recoil, 30rd mag, and 2 shot kill exactly like the ebr 14. Maybe a slight increase in area of one shot kill, reduced idle sway, or some other stat boost. Any of those would put the ebr back into viability

One thing I feel IW needs to add is the stock magazine capacity of weapons in the "Ammunition" tab. The SKS has 30 round and 10 round magazine sizes as "aftermarket" but unless you are IN GAME, you don't know what the count is when trying to deck out your weapon. This is with ALL weapons too.
