The thing that ticks me off about people who talk shit about working out online is that the human body has so much variability that it is damn near impossible to make sweeping statements about what would be a universal improvement for everyone. Almost no workout principles will be 100% beneficial for 100% people. Source: I spent six years in university to study human biology in health and disease, don't make me break out my copy of Guyton Hall's Textbook of Medical Physiology.
