This thing is mind blowing! Super easy to fly and insanely aerobatic. One of my all time favorites from Horizon.
We absolutely LOVE our UMX Pitts! And let me tell you, don't let the size fool you. This thing has ample power, and a surprisingly amazing flight time for a 300 mah battery. TBH, I wouldn't even mess with flying on 2S unless you only plan on flying scale, in which case it flies great and you can save a few bucks flying on 2S. However this is one of the most fun UMX planes I've ever had my hands on and strongly encourage others to give it a shot! We've got some great content on our channel if you want to learn more! you guys need to make a umx sport cub that has this same brushless system, longer wings than the sport cub s2, oversized flaps, and the same cowling battery hatch.
Can we have another decent scale Spitfire at some point? A UMX version with true scale lines (not oversized tail feathers) and SAFE would be cool but if not, another 1.2m would do.

Memories :) this was a super and almost industracble umx. You can go so crazy with her.
I tried the industructable part of that and I can safely say that a terrible pilot like me can crash many times and it eventually breaks 😂

Well done Horizon Hobby! Not only have you brought back a classic but youve improved it too! In the UK these planes slip under the 250gr weight category and so dont need to be registered and can be flown pretty much anywhere - smart move!

Awesome! My first umx planes 10 years ago were the parkzone sukhoi su-26m, t-28 and I had the beast 3d. One I missed out on was the Icon A5. Amazing how far UMX has come!
I bought one of the old ones last year I think it was my favorite plane of course I'll have to order this aswell formation flying here we come !!!

That plan is jamming😲. I use to have a park flyer like this and it was such a great slow flying stunt machine, I don't know if I could keep up with this plane.
You can easily fly it slow...much slower than you might expect! It's even easier to fly than the larger 850mm model :)
@@HorizonHobbyProducts that's good news. I use to fly a lot of your older planes and Helis, but fell out of the hobby a long time ago. Now I have a RC air field down the street from me and watching people fly again is starting to get to me. I'm feeling the need to get out there.

IT's already tame as it is!!! There has NEVER been a Pitts with flaps. Would be rather silly!!!
@@scotabot7826 I agree. I like things scale. At the same time, lack of flaps has kept me from buying planes that don't have them. As for this Pitts, Im not quite sure yet about getting one. I have the 850mm one and love it. I'm probably going to hold out for the next new umx models versus a re-release. But I expect a umx turbo timber V2 is next up.
@@shortbiggie I'm sure the UMX Cessna 182 is very close to being re-released. I was hoping for a UMX Christen Eagle, The UMX Pitts flies so well, I will get one for a backup for the one I have now. It really is one of the best flying UMX planes there has been. I have the 850mm as well, and about 5 more Pitts in a various sizes. Pitts and Eagles have a very special place in my heart!
@@scotabot7826 yah it's a tough call early in the year. I have four umx Timbers and two are the turbo. These are my front yard go-to planes. They are fantastic fliers. I like that the umx Pitts is peppy, but I would hope it also flies well slow so I don't have to land it hot in my driveway. Question for you: my umx Timbers fly great with a 2S 430mah venom battery. How do you think the Pitts would handle the added weight of that battery? I think it is 20 grams heavier than the 3S 200mah the plane is rated for. I think it would come down to available room to place it further aft to prevent being overly nose heavy.
@@shortbiggie i'm sure it would do fine if you could get the CG worked out, but yes it would land a little hotter. Remember weight is the enemy in these UMX planes, but i've seen people do some crazy things with them (weight wise) and they still flew ok. The new one looks to me like it will fly just as slow as the older one. I can land mine very, very slow in a 3 point attitude, and with a little head wind, very slow with about a foot roll out, but my CG is very aft.

I was pretty excited to see this UNTIL I found out I can't use my IC2 3S batteries with it. These work great with my UMX A-10 and the Ultrix 600mm. I gather the IC2 battery is likely too large and heavy for the little bird.

Dang it Horizon. 1st I get Draco, soon will be getting the 90mm Viper and the all new 1.2 T-28 and now this?! Uggghhh You’re trying to deplete me of my money.😂😁. This is definitely a future fleet member.

@@scotabot7826 In a few weeks to sometime in the spring, Horizon will be re-releasing the Eflite 1.2m T-28 in a better than ever package. Horizon’s 1.2m warbirds are extremely popular as they are easy to fly and can fly in smaller spaces than a 1.5m and retain scale features. Did you know the P-51 is the only 1.2m warbird available right now? They had a 1.2 Corsair, P-47, T-28, and a P-39, but they have all been discontinued. But some will be brought back with upgrades, including the T-28 and Horizon might bring back the Corsair.
@@johnsons74thsquadron74 Sounds great!!! OH Yeah, I remember now. It was the real good looking one with the taller scale gear. That was a scale looking bird, as I almost pulled the trigger because it looked so good.
@@scotabot7826 That’s definitely what made it stand out. It had a taller landing gear than what most Trojans like the FMS 1.4 have. That did give it great prop clearance, but it was only 3s powered. It had scale like power, but lots of pilots these days want more than scale power and Jason even mentioned on the innovation video of Draco that Horizon likes to push the flying envelope. Pretty sure this T-28 will have 3 and 4s capability and will have Smart. I can’t wait for it to come back.

They are a little late to the show...many installed SAFE Rx system in the original UMX Pitts years ago, well those that wanted it that is...some used the Rx out of a Habu first as it is installed standing on it's side made it a challenge and a fun project...then out came the UMX Timber and many used the SAFE Rx set up from it and there are multiple threads about that process.......Glad to see another UMX plane come out and the Pitts is a great model ,BUT sure wish they would bring out more UMX planes instead of the same few over and over...boggles my mind as to why that is not happening, especially with the FAA attempts at limiting the hobby and regulating it away...when sub 250 is the way to go....BUT instead of creating more aircraft that will sell based on that FACT, we see very few, one must ask these companies WHY ? 🤔
When is the release date? At HH it shows “Next Shipment February 2022”. Is that accurate or just a default entry?
Container shipping is still a bit of a mess these days, but they are currently on schedule to arrive at our warehouses and begin shipping out late this month (February) or early next month (March 2022)!

@@HorizonHobbyProductsthanks for the reply I got one and love it I’m more of a beginner as I fly on 2s and also have a Umx citation that I haven’t flew I’m quite some time that I brutally crashed but yeah the pits is easy to fly and nice scale and I am maybe going to try a roll today hopefully I don’t fail 😂
