RON GOES TO THE HOSPITAL!!! OVER THE LEDGE!!!

- Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, we get a call that sends Ron, Ethan & Oscar to the hospital!!! Literally.... Thankfully, outside the hospital to help someone, rather than inside the hospital as a patient. This is not the first time we've been called to this awkward dock. To get into this dock, a driver has to back in uphill with a side grade and close quarters. This is a common result. The fuel tank is setting down on the curb and the rear "pumpkin" is over the ledge. The loaded trailer is leaning. We have overhead power lines, huge oxygen tanks, and many other hazards in the area as well as working in a confined space. This is an interesting puzzle. How will be get this back on track without rupturing the fuel tank or damaging the drive train?? Thank you, God, for blessing our family and our business. Watch as we continue to receive God's blessings. There is much more to come!!! I hope you enjoy this video!!!
We have a difficult and dangerous job and we take it very seriously, that doesn't mean we can't have fun and enjoy our work. We strive to be polite, professional, efficient, and safe...and still can have fun. I hope you all enjoy this video!!! Thanks for watching and God bless!!!

My common analogy, "there are many ways to reach 10". I could have approached this (any) job several different ways. The approach method is important, but more important is achieving the desired result, safely.
Again, a very special thank you to all my viewers, family, and friends who having taken the time to show their support. May God bless and protect you all!!!

I’m a 86 year old woman and enjoy watching you determine the best (not always) way to do jour job 👏🏻❤️🙂. You have your nemesis as in this one to work around. I watched your channel before your Dad passed. I know he would be very proud of how you have carried on.
Arc enemy! lol
Mr Ron Awesome recovery. Thanks for sharing and stay safe
I look forward to Fridays with the Pratts! Ron has an attitude of “no big deal”. He makes his customers feel at ease and respects them even when they do stupid things.
Ron make a living off of drivers stupidity 😂😂😂
@@francesstratton695while true enough, he doesn't rub it in, and for the most part tries to be polite to the drivers and not look down on them.
Being fair, once or twice he has been a bit colder to the drivers, but then again, that's been drivers that had an... inappropriate.. attitude as well, whether that was rude, or blame casting, or unconcerned by what they'd done wrong, or whatever..
Man after the second semi doing that, I would be looking at expanding my driveway... LOL
Unfortunately tow bill is on the trucking company. The ramp upgrade would be on the hospital and I doubt the hospital will incur that expense because it’s the truck drivers problem.
Sure the patients and staff at the hospital appreciate you making sure they get there food.
thank you RON and your team for this video .
good job .
Great to see you listening to the guys. You gave them the opportunity to learn when your not on the side of the road rushing to get it opened up again
Great job guys. 👏👏👏👏💪💪💪
Architect: "Oh, we don't need to worry about the loading dock!"
Drivers: "What?!" Followed by a massive facepalm. 😂
My heart fluctuated while getting it repositioned.
Taking extra time for setup is far better than needing extra time for cleanup.
I certainly love this channel!
Ron, you had me worried when the headline read “Ron goes to the hospital.” Ya got me. Great team work. I can’t imagine how difficult this was being done without assistance. You knocked it out of the dock.
Same, it didn't occur to me that the job was at the hospital.. At least until Ron answered the phone call and said where he was at...
*_Thanx Ron._*
Great coordination by all involved. I said it before and I’ll say it again you have a great crew that works well together.
Architecs need to hier a good old time truck driver as a consultant to make these dock bays idiot proof!
This dock was probably designed and built prior to having such long combinations of truck and trailer. There are many ducks that were built when all there was was a 40-foot trailer now they have 53 Footers with even talk of increasing the length even more.
it was probably designed for box trucks.
@@dalesuhre6522that isn't a 53' trailer. Probably a 35', or maybe even the one down from that.
That said, the dock may have been designed with box trucks rather than tractor and trailer combos in mind.
Thing is there are architectural standards for size and layout of a bay that are easy to look up, you dont need to hire a truck driver, you can literally look at the standard measurements and copy paste them
They need to consult a lot more than truckers in my experience. A lot of badly designed buildings out there, that sucks for everybody but the architect's ego.
Good job to Ron and crew.
Keep up with the good work Ron and team love watching your videos on UA-cam God bless
Good Morning. Thanks for another great video
Love watching.... Wow
Damn that was nerve racking 😮. Great job fellas 💪👏
This reminded of a similar situation at the college. As always great job Ron and team.
Nicely done guys!
I remember when that happened. I was leaving work.
Long time viewer here. You are professionals and I admire that. Ethan and Oscar (and Talon) have come a long way under the mentoring of Ron and his dad. With respect, I would have done one thing extra and that is blocking under the right drivers once they were lifted. My thought process is that any unexpected glitch or equipment malfunction could have resulted in a fuel tank leak. Given the location (hospital) that could have been costly to mitigate. Then again, things went smoothly.
Wow, with you standing on the driveway, the elevation of the drive over the street is obvious! I now see how it really limited the amount of lift you could do from 'below' the truck. You ended up doing it the way I first thought you would but it's a far more challenging job than I originally thought.
The hospital needs to put in a retaining wall and widen the driveway up. Looking at the curb this is far from the first time trucks have had trouble backing in
I was thinking the same thing. They have to do something to make this easier.
That is not the hospital's fault.
The drive has an excellent stub wall on it already.
Agreed; this is an architectural disaster. Surely, this wasn't the the best they could do.
Ron's been there done that. Hope he remembered to take the chains off the axels
Driver's side was so compressed I'm not sure how he could have taken off the chain after it was sitting level.
That time it worked, still I can't figure out why he jumped the curb... You fixed that problem.. 😊
to lazy to pull ahead and straighten the trailer tried to just cut it over
As a pilot friend said "a mistake and a half in a one mistake area"
As a truck driver, I want to thank you. I never hear you comment on how some idiots get themselves in these situations. Most people laugh and make fun of it. But you always go out of your way to not point fingers at drivers on your videos. And EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US have done something stupid because we weren't paying attention.
Good parking 😅😅😅😅😅❤❤
Ron doing some CSI ( Casualty scene Investigation) work in the the beginning of the mission. Great Job Ron and Midwest Crew.
Good morning!
Good morning sir
Masterful planning! You make it look easy.
It is great to have the best equipment for any job, and you have it. GodBlessyour crew.
title gave me a start..glad it wasn't what I first thought. Still some tight working conditions that aren't friendly to maneuvering even though it's not out in traffic.
I love the work y'all do.
I read the title, and was like dang Ron did a miss step and took a bad fall....
Watched the video but didn't listen really well because I was hoping that he didn't get truly hurt... then it got through... Ron was at the hospital to tow the truck out of the HOSPITAL's dock...
Failed that early morning lert test...😂😂
it was a pleasure meeting you at your shop even though you were very busy working on one of your rollbacks. i see why you need a ladder now, it's not that you are short, it is all the equipment is so big. that rollback was the biggest one i ever seen. again thank you for all that you do for those people that need a little help now and then.
nice work guys
Good job guys
Sound like that should be a 2 person delivery one to drive one to spot.
Fascinating job that was scary. I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until the wheels was on the other side of the curb. Fantastic teamwork.
I hope Ron recovers quickly. Your in my prayers. Have a good day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️.
LOL. Ron not hurt as it is over,
They were only working at the hospital, not in the hospital.
Ron scared the crap out of me with that title lol. I thought something bad happened. Don’t do that lol.
I am glad that there were no complications from the "procedure" at the hospital and that everyone is doing well afterword. Nice job all.
Ok who put that dang no parking sign upside down 😂😂 driving me nuts 😂
Note to self..... When your tires hit the curb and the truck lurches to a stop, the answer isn't more gas pedal.
I think the driver got nervous and frustrated and couldn’t handle the pressure. I completely understand it.
I watch everyone of their videos.
Kinda got slow during the summer months but winter is around the corner. Love the winter action as long as nobody gets killed or hurt.
Very tight dock straight truck only?you did a great job..🙏😊
Great video Ron in unison with Ethan
Mr. Pratt, awesome job and teamwork. I really liked how you had Ethan and Oscar do their walk down and assessment followed by the brainstorm discussion. Now this is a repeat issue for this particular loading dock. There got to some sort of improvements to the entry, truck size limitations, or signage. The driver goofed big time it looks like to start with too much power.
Ron and power lines are old adversaries. Usually he doesn't have the power poles joining the fun.
Have A Great Day Today There My Good Big Bro Ron Pratt Sir & I Am Still Praying For You & All Of You're Whole Family &All Of You're Whole Staff As Well & All That Is Involved In The Automobile Accident
Wow, that's one crazy predicament there, guys.
Ron have you ever thought about looking at getting an imported tow truck from maybe Japan or South Korea? Or maybe even out of the United Kingdom? I have seen some interesting platforms and would love to know why in the states we really don’t look at more compact tow /recovery trucks? And if given a chance would you consider going and working alongside a fellow tow company in another country to learn about different types of trucks if you were to consider buying an import?
I have considered it. One of the main issues with the shorter vehicles are America's "bridge" laws. Longer truck, less weight on a short span of a bridge, basically. There is a lot more to it, but that the basics. Thanks for watching and God bless.
Great job. The only thing i might have done differently would be to sling right rear tractor wheel along with one line on trailer. Giving a little more control and lift on actual tractor.
I love what you are doing mat and I love you trucks
Looks like that dock ramp could use a redesign.
Great job! I like seeing the team bounce ideas off each other to come up with the plan. Glad customer's truck didn't roll into Ethan's rig! lol
Have you ever gotten to a job, looked at it and said " Nope, not me".?
I think one of the reason why it went forward is it's on a down hill run. Plus all the weight is trying to be held in place by a single axle instead of tandem axles. One more thing is you don't know how good the trailer are holding
I love this channel
Saw a similar situation in Texas. They lifted passenger drives, placed large and lengthy boards beneath the drives and drove the truck forward while maintaining balance with rotator.
Could have used the spreader bar between the cab and trailer
My 5year old and I love this channel 👍
If the power lines weren't there, i would say use a spreader bar, and just come over top and just pick it up right at the axle and move it over with the boom and set it back down.
Couldn't do it no better Great Job to both of you . I hope your week is doing better.... just glad the black stay on the ground with everything else work out great.
I see the problem. The 'No Parking' sign is upside down.🤣
They need to widen that back in spot for the trucks to back in better and not drop off the edge
34:25 - my heart stopped when the truck started to roll.
Drivers should always know how much weight they’re carrying
Thats not always possible. Sysco, for example, does supply delivery (aka vegetables&fruits, sauces, paper towels and napkins, among MANY others) and the order lists MIGHT only have a rough overall item weight; but that doesn't always account for the weight of the pallets themselves.
So unless the driver visits a scale every few stops, its not really probable or practical for them to know halfway through their day, or anything after the first stop, really.
He did know,, he just didn’t want to go threw all his bills, to accurately find out.
It is very good practice to know but when you know you aren't overweight that's the biggest part.
@JacksonGuitarsPlayer03.... obviously you have never driven for a Food Service company and dont know you can't keep trac of the weight which is removed from your truck at every stop being made...my experience for doing this was in the Canadian Rockies delivering Food Service to Banff National Park hotels, and betond. So yea experience I had....This laneway needs to be rebuild to make it a wider and more manuverable for the semi's to swing into that dock.. Bad design costing delivery companies money not needed to be spent in tow services..
@@Kugelbliz just by looking at your cargo how much capacity you are loaded, the type of cargo you can visually assume the weight.
I I’m a class A holder CDL I own lowboy and a step deck flatbed trailer I was thinking about a curtain side flatbed I think about that.
I like hauling heavy machinery a lot. I also own straight dump trucks lift axle I’m thinking about purchasing dump trailers and buying some older daycab and flat bunk semis to pull them. I own a construction/ hauling business somewhat small now but slowly growing.
In this case, the power lines made the job more difficult, but not impossible. Have you ever had to get the power company to disconnect lines? Is that even a last resort option? Very impressive recovery here. Please stay safe, and God bless.
I had a relative who was a patient in that hospital that day. The entire wing they were in missed a meal because of "something going on at the delivery dock".
I'm just kidding. 😂 Great job as usual guys!
Love how Mr Ron said take the M 100 and lift the truck and trailer and set back down on the road deck False You take the M 100 you lift up the hospital and set it down 100 ft away problem solved no more messed up loading dock ramp Or is it just a HIT that a new M 100 is in order ????????
😊💪👍
Who else loves this channel?
Everyone!!! 😮😅😊
Me ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
There's a few on Facebook Reels that are haters😢
I watch it every Friday. I was late tuning in this morning
The pipe bollards are typically set in concrete below the frost line.
Typically, yes. Guaranteed, nope!
I Like your Idea Boss, as a satalite cowboy that is Lol
Great job, I came though Scott City Tuesday night on 55 and was looking for one of your trucks. Saw a policeman and a rollback but it wasn’t one of yours. I will be looking next time. Have a great weekend and God Bless your family and crew
Like front trailer lift lot boom out
Have you ever had to have electric company come and disable power lines? Great experience letting your people tell you what they think..,
I hope your luck is the most exceeding.
Hopefully you are ok, spending ❤️
By picking drive wheel would have made it so you wouldn't need so much lift on trailer. Just my suggestion or observation. Great job guys. Every win is a win. That was definitely one of those jobs that there are many solutions. That was the thing I was watching is how much lift you needed to get that drive over the curb.
Playing the "What would Middo do?" game, i'm with Ron. Any redirect off those posts risks one of those becoming a projectile. IF YOU'RE LUCKY it damages only the truck. If you're not, then who knows what could happen. I. Ight have had Ethan drive nose in to him him a better sight line to get as close as possible to those posts, but thats minor.
Watching these videos has made me a better off road recovery person. I was pretty good before, but I'm always learning and every situation is different in the minutiae.
Guess what ...no more deliveries until they fixed the dock the proper way for a combination vehicle....
Won’t happen the hospital has out grown its space. They need to relocate the dock but where?
If you can't get it in there quit driving
no the dock isn't the issue it's that the driver didn't set himself up proper to get into i and did not pay attention to the right side of his truck. the only modification i can see that might help is to cut the apron back a bit on the lft side widening the entrance a bit to give a little bit more wiggle room to set your self up
There's nothing wrong with this dock. It's quite apparent the driver is not very skilled in backing. In my 20 years of driving I've had backing into docks several times more difficult than this.
No, that’s an easy back for a single axle with a pup, driver for whatever reason had trouble.
This is the second video that I am aware of for this same location. This one was much worse than the first one. Excellent work, everybody. The ARC NEMESIS had to make an appearance...
Oh Ron we really enjoy your videos you made us laugh when you said “no, no , no 😁🤣we watch you all from Rio Medina Texas , a San Antonio suburb. Oh and you had us worried when you said you were at the Hospital 😳🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼, 😁🤣🤣
👍👍👍
M100, just pick it up and set it over, done. I once watched a video of a guy retrieve a skid steer that had an engine fire and was off in the woods. All he had with him was a rollback, and he was far from his shop. His cable was not long enough and his truck not heavy enough. He anchored his truck to a tree with a Bubba rope, and used chain as a winch extension, even redirecting off of a tree using a master link as a pulley for the chain to go through. I think he titled the video something like "Getting a deer out of the woods ".
But he said something that I remember very well-- sometimes you use what you got.
Maybe we should listen to that guy.😊
Hmm...I think I may know that guy...LOL Thanks for watching and God bless.
Thought rob fall over edge hurt self lol tk god it lorry ❤
Looking at it could done spit lines in front of refa bit
Another tough job you made look easy!
Would cutting the tractor's tires to the right have kept it from rolling into Ethan's truck? I saw they were cut to the left and thought about that... but in the end, the rim sling and the line from the rotator did its job, so everything worked out.
Food is like trash...it gets real heavy real fast
great job as always, never seen you grabing your chain off the lift axle????
25:19 sounds like something to look at getting in the future lol if you got one you would probably be the only towing company on youtube to have one and use it in videos (correct me if im wrong)
I was worried for minute I thought you got injured untill I realized you was doing the job at the hospital
Ron, that was a chalangeing job for sure. I know you did it by yourself once, but I like how this worked out better with 2 heavy-duty trucks. Yes, an M100 would be ideal for that situation, I agree. In some situations, the M100 is perfect. Other times, overkill. The same goes for tator as well, though....😂
I've watched so many of these that I am starting to think like you guys. I had the same observations as Ethan about the mud flap and the idea of redirecting from the fence post before he said it.
As soon as I saw that thumbnail I knew it looked familiar. Hopefully it's not the same driver as last time.
