You sold me.... ordered from AMZN. Nice price. Thanks for all the time you put in producing your videos! They have been a major help.
It is my favorite tiny powerstation, seems near perfect!
Superb review, and I love that you very ably mix practical information with deep technical detail. Not everyone can do that and still offer approachable explanations for the neophytes. Thanks.
Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate you watching and commenting.
just ordered now, and was able to triple dip on the savings.
The best thing about the River 2 is that Ecoflow has a 5 year warranty that comes with it.
I didnt even mention that, excellent point! In addition to that, it's company that will actually be around to honor that warranty. Some of the new companies make one system and disappear...
Another great Video. You are an incredible salesman. Thanks for all of your help!
I’m trying to help prospective buyers out more than I’m trying to sell for companies. When I get excited, it’s almost one in the same though.
XLNT Video, thank you Brian. Just ordered one for home as a UPS for the wifi router, wifi camera DVR, magic jack phone and PC. Much appreciated !!
Sweet! I know you’ll love it, thanks for watching.
I just got one refurbed direct from ecoflow for $115 solid deal. The UPS is a great perk i didn't know it had. I have a saltwater reef tank, and I dread the power going out while im on vacation. This helps me greatly!
Great score! Thanks for watching the video, I'm glad I helped out.
I ordered mine from Amazon 2 days ago for $199, and got a free solar cable. Very happy with the Delta 2 we got recently. Ecoflow has great customer service.😎
It’s so exciting to see how aggressively they’re pricing the systems. They are excellent and priced to sell!
Brian, a quick note to follow up on my purchase of the Eco Flow River 2.... originally I purchased it as a power unit for back up but it wound up in the Whacker.... worked fine there.... but I recently installed it in my home office and it now protectes my cable modem, wifi router, magic jack phone, and the wireless camera sercurity system. I tested the transfer speed with a simulated power failure and it works great. Plenty of power to run those items for several hours. Once the house and home office remodel is down I will add the office PC. Thanks again for the great advice.... stay healthy & safe.
Awesome set up! We got a ton of value out of this device, using it in these situations. Thank you for the follow up.
returning this model to get the river 2 max. the river 2 wasnt able to power my electric paddle board inflator. 100w max vs 126w max
Great system, its a shame the smaller model didnt have enough oomph to run the inflator. The max is great, youll be happy!
So this got me looking at comparable items out of curiosity and on paper, the Bluetti EB3A 268wh seems....better? Similar cost ($240 for Bluetti vs $200 for River2 with current promotions/coupons). But for the Bluetti: 10a on the DC output, 200W solar input (8mm so I don't need to go buy a new cable or convert to XT60), simultaneous solar+ac input, UPS functionality, internal AC brick. Slightly longer for full charge, but does do 80% in 30min. The design isn't quite as clever but at least the handle folds down. I don't need either (lol) but I now like the idea of using something like this primarily as a UPS knowing it can serve other duties.
As always, I appreciate/thank/curse you for bringing stuff to my attention haha! Isn't it amazing how so many similar items are produced with minor deviations in functionality which we agonizingly weigh against each other to find the best value or to support whatever use case we dream up that we already have 5 other ways of doing but the new shiny thing does it a little better in some way.
Really, you can’t go wrong either way, they’re comparable. I should have given the EB3A a shout out, but they were over $100 more like last week??... lol
By my preference, the river 2 wins pretty clean.
It includes a car charger, 20% more cycle life on battery, Bidirectional USB & I think the interface is a lot better. The EB3A does have the wireless charging pad, which some will prefer. Bluetti plunged the price for the river 2 release but still costs more. They were getting over 300, love to see they dropped to $240.
@@DIYOutdoorLife You know, that's another sticky point with all this stuff. Depending on the day of the week you happen to look, prices can fluctuate a LOT. No question though - for $200, that River2 is some pretty fantastic bang for your buck in the current landscape.
@@RM0818 I love it when they start competing w pricing… lol. Ecoflow is now giving a $65 light for free with the promo codes on River 2😂
Brian- Thanks for the review and sale info. While I was saving toward a DC travel cooler, we decided to take advantage of the sale. Since this will have more use at home and camping over the cooler, it was a pretty easy choice. Especially with the UPS capabilities.
The additional 8% code was not accepted at check out. However it maybe becuase I took advantage of the other promotion for the free ecoflow camping light/powerstation with purchase of the River 2.
Back to saving for my cooler. Lol
Oh bummer, many got both. I wonder if they stopped letting people triple dip… lol. That light looks awesome, I wish we got one! They charge $65 for them.
What fridge are you looking at?
@@DIYOutdoorLife I am happy others were able to take advantage of the triple dip. I am still very satisfied with my $165 savings on the PPS and light! Thank you for the heads up!!
Currently I am looking at the bougerv 30 and the Vevor 48. Not committed to either at the moment, likely wont purchase until early spring... but you know Black Friday and Cyber Monday may change that. Haha
I have decided not to incorporate the cooler into my galley mod. This way the unit can travel with us in our vehicle as we leave camp and go explore. That opens us up to going larger with the 48.. i think the 56 would be to large for us (only 2 ppl). Why go bigger and have to worry about powering it if it not needed?
As always, open to suggestions!
@@girlmeetscamper it’s a great deal, happy you got one.
I have nothing but positive things to say about the BougeRV fridge, never tried the Vevor. I’ll keep you in mind for coupons as they come in on fridges.
Was wondering if you'd be covering this one. This looks like a good possible replacement for the battery backup my computer is connected to. Power flashes are common here as well so having a UPS for sensitive electronics like that is a must.
I’ll send you a PM, it can absolutely do this but will depend on the power supply for your computer (how big). They have a couple bigger models that might be better suited.
I got into the PPS game early, back in 2017. I bought a Suaoki 220 to take with me on a solo camping trip to Key West. It was stolen in Shenandoah National Park when I plugged it in to the washroom outlet to charge it, and came back late in the afternoon to find it gone. I would have it still if it had been able to charge as fast as this one can.
That’s awful… people can be lame.
Like you said, this one you could watch.
@@DIYOutdoorLife You know what's ironic about these portable power stations? They will last a very long time if used correctly, but every year or so now it seems some new feature comes out that makes the previous version feel "obsolete", and you get "PPS envy" (you'll see what I did there). I have five of these suckers now for a total of about 3700WH combined. I don't need any more of these things, and yet - ONE HOUR CHARGE TIME! WOW!
@@twloughlin haha… I laughed out loud. You are absolutely right, it’s like the computer revolution… great today, old news tomorrow. The prices are getting exciting though, that’s great news.
Crazy good review man, keep it up!
Thank you for that, I really appreciate it!
Brilliant review sir 😊
Thank you, I really appreciate you watching.
I have just purchased one of these, it’s great for my iPhone iPad and charging drone batteries, fantastic device 😊
@@stephenwhittle7451agree... love it for the same reasons
Hi I got one last week only I haven't worked out how to do a slow charge ,looks like I might have to have the app I don't like digital though ,I bought a C plug and lead went to charge it up and the plug is over heating so it could be a faulty plug so won't use it as could go on fire ,im a bit Dyslexia so it took me a while how to work out how to charge by plug and his to use solar panel ,I don't understand about the DC bit yet ,I also have a DC to a DC of which I don't understand what that's for 😱 ,Thanks 👍🤗🇬🇧
It sounds like you got an undersized USB-C. It's important to remember that a unit like this can draw a lot more current than something like a phone, you have to be very careful and choosing the right cables. Look for one capable of 120 W.
Check out your owners manual to learn more. Is there a reason why you're trying to charge it slowly? I can't remember off the top of my head whether you need the app to do that, there might be another way found in the manual.
Good thing that Ecoflow switched to LFP batteries. It will definitely last me longer than any other power station.
A ton of value with this one for sure!
Thanks for the assist with my question.
Thank you for supporting the channel, it helps a lot.
I agree that the price of the River 2 it outrageously low and that is why I am purchasing one.
Really impressive entry price. Most of the people who used my promo code got a $65 free flashlight in addition to two more discounts. $215 plus the free light
To save time put that price of the product in the description BIG DOG
Thank you, still new to this… lol
$215 USD with a free $60 Ecoflow light. It’s a legendary deal!
@@DIYOutdoorLife no doubt No Doubt I appreciate it you're doing great man I'm just saying about the price thing is cuz for people who can't afford it and then they see it it makes them feel bad at the end this way you know up front if you could afford it or not so the video get you up not down ... at the end
@@ms863 I hear you there for sure. I
Made a typo I’m changing now… it’s $215 w the light!
@@DIYOutdoorLife- Brilliant. uP^ We GO
Some 12v appliances, like 12v refrigerators, won't run if the 12v power supply is unregulated, so make sure that if you're buying a generator, the 12v is regulated... I know this because I had a generator that was 12v unregulated, and the fridge wouldn't run. 🤗
You can change the setting on the fridge to low and itll work, Ive had to do that as well. In this case, the PPS has regulated dc though 👍
How many MaH would this hold? Like power brick holds 10,000 mah.. with this capacity ?!
MAH assumes a known voltage and isn't really the accurate way of measuring these. For instance, your power brick might be 10,000 MAH at 5 V for USB. This unit can do 5 V, 12 V, or 120vac.
We use watt hours for systems like this. It's 256 W hours. If it helps you compare, this could charge a standard phone around 19 times.
At same pricepoint, late 2023... would you still choose the EcoFlow River 2 or the AC2a from Bluetti? Use case is CarCamping to run heated blankets and fans, charge iPhone/iPad.
Id go with the river 2, I prefer their platform over bluetti
Great content Brian!
Thank you for watching!
Aside from being cheaper than the previous model, it does charge faster.
It’s nice to see the development of PPS!
One thing I like about the River 2 is that it only takes 60 minutes to fully charge it.
Yea, 30 minutes actually gets you most of the way there… lightning fast
Could this be used as a UPS for a pellet stove? Not to run it long term, but just to keep it going and removing smoke for the half hour it would take me to get my gas generator running. Pellet stove without igniter uses about 100 watts.
Absolutely. It's a perfect application for that!
Hi i would love a review of the ecoflow 220 bifacial foldable panel.
Me too, let me see what we can do.
Does this operate at 60 Hz A/C default out of the box not 50 Hz?
Does it operate a device less than 10 watts with out shutting off as other makes do?
Want to buy but need to know these two things.
Thanks
60hz for US market. The controls in the app allow you to adjust auto shut off, you can make it so that it does not turn off regardless of the draw.
good for wifi backup with some led lights
Definitely
It’s even cheeper right not for cyber Monday
It’s like they’re giving it away… Lol
@@DIYOutdoorLife I know right 😂
An electric novice here. (Seriously!) Although you are reviewing the River 2, I just purchased the Delta 2 but figured my question would work well here too.
I have a small teardrop whose electrical system is powered by an ACDelco Voyager Marine/RV Battery system (95 AH). I just purchased an EcoFlow Delta 2 (with plans to later on purchase solar panels) and am thinking that I can use the Delta 2 to recharge the ACDelco battery via the electrical cord that brings in shore power to the RV. And when I get the solar panels I can recharge the Delta 2 as it recharges the ACDelco (I hope!).
Is this possible or even practical? The wiring setup for my Vintage Trailer Works XTR Off-Road is pretty simple with an exhaust fan, interior and exterior lighting and USB plugs for charging phones, etc. There are no plans for other electrical devices to power at this time.
Thanks for any assistance you might be able to give me.
Short answer, yes, it will work doing what you said. The reality is it a little bit more complicated and several things will determine how well it works. Using the power station to charge the camper battery will be very very inefficient, but it may still work and satisfy your needs.
There are a few tricks that can help. If your camper has a converter, you might have more success disconnecting the battery and plugging the camper into the delta directly. If you run things, efficiently, they might even last longer this way, rather than recharging the camper battery… trail and error will teach you a lot.
Here’s a video on the channel where I talk about some tricks doing what you’re suggesting. If you dig around in our old videos, we have several more that address tips and tricks in this area.

@@DIYOutdoorLife I can't say I have a converter. There is a Foxsur Pulse Repair Charger 12v 4ah - 100 ah (Labels in English AND Russian!) but aside from a 4 Pole Terminal Block, that's about it. I guess it's probably best right now to just use the EcoFlow Delta 2 as a backup for charging phones, camera batteries, etc. and be really judicious on using the marine battery until I can better understand how to optimize camper electrical systems. Thank you for your response and help!
@@LateNiteGrafix no worries. Don’t be afraid to do what you’re saying, it’s not bad for anything. When I say it’s not efficient, you’re just not getting the most out of it. Of course that’s better than nothing so test it out and see if it works for you.
Thanks for watching.
i have a massimo 100 watt solar panel.
any idea what adapter i would need to charge the river 2 with that solar panel?
i want to get this river 2 for my niece and i have several massimo solar panels.
Hey Mark, massimo panels come with a variety of barrel connections. This plug that I am linking will go into the XT 60 of the EcoFlow and accept a barrel plug. Should be easy peezy to find the right connection.
Thanks for watching!

Question: with the PTC does that also have surge control. If I Have TV connected while also connect to A/C shore power
Great question, short answer yes. Since it is an actual switched UPS, it’s slightly different than PTC. In either case, there’s protection on the input side that is drawing from utility power. This in fact does work like surge control. It will not have the same professional ratings as dedicated surge protectors but does offer more protection than direct plug. For extremely sensitive applications, plug the PPS into a high-performance surge protector and now you have the highest degree of both.
@@DIYOutdoorLife Thank you for your reply.
Hi Brian, just bought this unit on the Valentine’s Day sale, questions, can I bypass my renogy controller directly to a 100w bouge rv panel, to charge the unit with a XTC60 to MC4 cable, or is it better to go through the controller? Also has there been any firmware updates to increase any of the efficiency. Thanks in advance
Hey Chris, definitely bypass the charge controller, the one built into the river is top notch and all you need. There has been some firmware updates, I'll have to run some more tests and see how theyre doing. GREAT power station, highly recommend.
How is this in comparisons to the BLUETTI EB3A it seems to be about the same price and very similar.
It’s comparable, I should have given the EB3A a shout out.
It was over $100 more just a couple weeks ago, love to see they dropped to $240. I’d say you can’t go wrong either way.
@@DIYOutdoorLife thank you I appreciate the information and you make a valid point as always. Love your content keep up the great work.
Bluetti has TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. River warranty 5 years.
Bluetti warranty 2 years.
So it's just a/c chargeable, it's not solar chargeable ?
We talk about solar. It has a high quality MPPT built in as well. 3 hr charge time w solar.
Since I can’t find any mention of it, I’m assuming it doesn’t have wireless phone charging built in to the top of it? Not a deal breaker, but is a miss by todays standards.
Great point, no wireless charger. I definitely should’ve mentioned that.
If you were running a cpap machine, how many hours/days can you get out of this before having to recharge?
Completely depends on the CPAP. There are some new models that are pricey that this system could run for days.
Do you know the wattage draw on your unit? it should be on the back.
@@DIYOutdoorLife It says 90watts
@@DIYOutdoorLife Anyways, I ordered it because based on your great review, I think it will still be worth it. Thanks Brian.
@@ericwynne4519 90w seems high. That would be under 3h runtime. Is there a way to turn the humidifier off on it? That really helps.
@@DIYOutdoorLife Sorry about that. The pdf specs on the brand says 5.61 amps at my current pressure. It has no wattage listing.
