Of course because was more of a lyrical savage back in the 90s and early 2000s he was showing his worth giving us good verses with JayZ and Biggie back then.
Eminem definitely outperformed Jay Z, but I wouldn't skip Hov's verses since they're pretty deep, so I wouldn't say it's a carry
Drake 100% carried Jack Harlow, how is this up for debate. It's one of the best examples of an artist being carried
drake had a better verse but i dont think he carried jack, jack also did pretty well

Jack really didn’t have a chance on that song but I think Drake had borderline verse of the year on that joint. My favorite line was “the crib’s on his will like motor homes” 🔥
Fr, I normaly don't like Drake's newer stuff, but props to where it's due, Drake bodied that beat. "Whips and Chains like a dominatrix", "I'm getting so rich, my music is not even relatable" and others were a goated verse

Honestly id have to disagree that Nicki carried Monster, obviously, it's an amazingly explosive verse and obviously the best one, but, Kanyes verse was also fantastic, Jay-Zs verse is super enjoyable, and Justin Vernons Intro and Outro perfectly compliment each other and the track itself.
Rick Ross's verse was weird because its an intro to a song that, already has an intro
Carried in my mind is when the song is taken to a far higher level then what it would’ve original had been w/o the feature. Drake cared Church Hill Downs bc that while the song would be good with jus Jack on, it’s now a SOTY contender bc of drake.

I don't agree with that definition. Carried in my opinion is when the featured artist delivers a strong performance but the main artist has a bad one or a mid performance.
I think Jack Harlow's performance on Churchill drive is very good.
And of course Drake was muchhhh better than Jack.
But in truth no matter how good the feature performance is. If the main performance isn't good either you're not getting a SOTY contention spot..
Because no-one wants to replay a song where the main performance is trash or mid.
By your definition it'd be easy to say if a feature outdoes the main artist then they carried which just becomes the case of perform better than your feature or you're being carried

Like I feel most of this list was “who had the better verse” so many times they admit the counterparts had great or good verses or hooks. So how can it be carry’s? Carrying a song means to me at least there’s a bad song that one person verse turned around.

My takes:
1. Kodak ruined Drowning by A Boogie
2. Drake carried Jack Harlow on Churchill Downs
3. Everyone pooped off on under the sun
4. Lil Baby carries Wants and needs but Drake also plays his part really well
5. Everyone did well on CAN'T SAY
6. To me, musically speaking: Everybody killed it on Control- Big Sean had a great verse w hella quotables and underrated wordplay + imagery, we All know what Kendrick did, but I think most of the other stuff he does is in itself better than the actually name dropping part. Jay Elec does his thing w imagery, lyricism, and effortless flow to match the vibe, double entendres on double entendres, and the way he exits w the "Jay Electricity, PBS mystery" part always gets me
Culturally speaking: Kendrick murdered not only everyone on the song but half the game. So he carried.
8. Nicki carried, Ye is decent, love Ross for his 15 seconds, Jay's verse is wack, I'm surprised it made the final cut of MBDTF given how selective the album was.
Everything from there to OUT WEST I think everyone killed it. Thugger carries out west.
And for Survival tactics, imma say Capital STEEZ carried but both of em had really ready good verses and that's even crazier when you think of how young they were at the time of that release.

On the songs I’m most familiar with,
Drowning: i liked the song kodak didn’t ruin or carry it
Control: Kendrick carried, and I’m not even really a Kendrick fan
Monster: Nicki minaj didn’t carry, but jay z’s verse was bad
New choppa: they both did great, love this song
Renegade: jay z did great, but Eminem did better and brought it to another level, so I’ll give him the carry
66: i kinda like yachtys weird flow on this, so i wouldn’t say trippie carried
Out west: thug carried. Travis scott came in great, but imo his verse dipped as it went along
I find Yachty on 66 on par with Trippie, like I think Trippie and Yachty contrast so well, and I find the bars Yachty brings is as enjoyable as Trippie's vocal performance.
