Good content but you are going to need a team behind and in lower mmr it’s not gonna happen. As a main ursa I’m very touched by this and I think you should have talked about battlefury as well because you can recover from not being able to gank alone Also, you could have talked about cliff skipping with the q and when to use enrage (pudge dismember etc..) a little bit more I’m not flaming you, and sorry if it sounds offrnsive Anyway, thanks for being the best dota content creator!
@@georgepapa1938 How long ago was that? I started playing about 5-6 years ago and Ursa ult gave like 3x fury swipe damage and Viper w gave you more right click damage against low hp hero's
Aghs on Ursa is good against Void if he targets you in chrono. You can use the Enrage while inside which makes it impossible for him to kill you or do stupid amounts of dmg
Damn BSJ great guide. Your hero guides are so cool, I learn a lot indirectly about the game in general as well. Those must be so much work. Thank you so much.
Also just a good tip to add and get a habit of is popping overpower in advance so that when you jump in for a kill, overpower will be off cd again and can do another 6 attacks in succession. Because overpower buff has longer duration than it’s cd.
This so much. I play a good amount of Ursa and it's always devastatingly painful to see Ursas that don't jump into a fight with their overpower stacks already up and about to come off cd again.
I'm a 4.9k carry player and still learned so much, particularly in the midgame mindset and when to play around your team or when you can get your team to play around you
all that into consideration viper offlane seems like a really good hero to shut down ursa, disables fury swipes with break, can kite him to death with infinite slows and could build halberd if he wants to.
My Ursa game is either an easy win or a devastating loss. I once tried buying battle fury when I was losing, but it turned out to be the wrong choice. Although, small decisions like leveling overpower first, not buying mask of death, buying wind lace instead of orb of venom might have been the answer. Hopefully I can put all this knowledge into practice.
Theres alot of commentary in the beginning I thought was good to get the fundamentals of ursa but I have a lot of thoughts to share on this hero: #1 I find that playing ursa by inventory slot is never enough especially vs a versatile team where I have to deal with invis, evasion, or illusions. #2 I think that Wind ranger is my #1 enemy hands down, because I'm not killing that hero any time soon since its the only hero that has 100% evasion at any level. Wind ranger is also a great early ganker meaning by the time I'm ready to fight the wind ranger with a MKB, the WR is already farmed as well with possibly invis. #3 I agree that hitting your target is the most important thing but I also think that continuos combos is key to URSA. You did not mention how to use empower properly. Regardless if using blink or the diffusal slow. If you're going for a gank you want to preemptively turn on empower. Especially with an abyssal blade. What you can do is, blink in. with empowered fury swipes later game, and hit him 9 times and watch the stun meter. the moment the stun meter is almost over you hit him with the abyssal to extend the stun and empower again to scratch him 9 more times back to back. Peksy heroes that like to hide in the back like sniper, pugna, lina, drow, silencer. Not many can handle 18 back to back swipes from ursa with the abyssal extension. So in summary you really don't have enough item slots to handle them all. I usually try to avoid playing ursa in a game against illusion heroes so that I can omit battle fury because you really don't have much room for it. Shoes|Basher or Abyssal|Blink is already half your arsenal and those are staples. If you play without shoes late game its hard to triple kill. You still need 1 slot for dust for pesky invis rats You still need 1 slot for at least a morbid mask to roshan (hopefully your team can find a paladin sword, sad its the only real lifesteal neutral) You still need 1 slot for BKB, Linkens, MKB You still need 1 slot to temporarily hold your aegis. I usually swap our my morbid mask late if no room. When it gets really late, I try to sneak up on invis heroes and perform my back to back abyssal combo and kill them before they can invis out. The same applies for hard to kill heroes like Slark, Dark willow, and Sladar that really wants to bash me back. I might swap out the blink for a silver's edge late because of the crit damage and the break ability against certain heroes like Bristle.
BSJ I'm a little confused. Pretty much at the 1:00:00 mark you talk about how good it was that you went in and had your team waste spells on you so tinker could wipe them, and I agree. But just a couple minutes before that you got done saying how important it was for you to recognize that *tinker was itemizing to go in first*, so you wanted to itemize to follow him into fights. So these two ideas seem to be at odds with eachother? 🤷♂️
Basically what he is saying is, if you have a farming mid which is most of the time when you pick Ursa, it is important for you to play as position 2. You will take fights whenever the mid wanna fight, just like how you will follow a position 1. Tank spells and let the carry do the work. Ursa is a hero you almost never pick unless you can make sure you can snowball or make space for your farming mid like medusa.
@@flashnimi but his reason for itemizing that way was stated as going in after the mid, then he takes this whole team fight and expends the enemies resources first for the Tinker. Seems contradictory
Thanks for the surprise guide; I recently played a game of ursa (2,1k shitpub) and rather than build to overwhelm with diffu and bkb, I built to take shit and eat everything the enemy team could throw at me. I had a mid sf and an offlane bloodseeker so I felt that I could get away with building for durability rather than rushdown. idk how well these guides hold up in the shit pit where none of us know what game we're playing but I'm down to try the diffu build you're pushing
Skadi or abyssal on ursa? Skadi feels good cause attacks constantly slow enemies allowing ursa to land more hits but abyssal gives a reliable lockdown and fast nuke. I personally like skadi but i find myself buying abyssal more often. When is 1 better than the other or when to buy both?
It can depend a lot on the opposition lineup and what you need in order to chomp on them. I.e a skadi won't do shit to an AM who can just blink away from you.
BSJ, when playing against illusions heroes as Slark, would you ever consider going Battlefury? I usually go Mjollnir but tried it once and it kicked butt. Thanks for the videos.
in my opinion i would say mjolnir is better. you can self-cast it. it gives attack speed, which slark benefits from a lot, and illusions are not gonna be a problem anymore with all that lightning.
since ursa is so fight dependant, wouldn't it be great to play a 2k smurf game with this hero? I imagine it would be very challenging to win a game like that
Great content, I watched all of it and is very detailed. One thing I would add, from personal experience, is that you need to be disciplined when going HG with Ursa. You can and should provide vision for your team by running in first with enrage several times, but this can also backfire if you over play it... Just a final hint I think is an important part of the hero
I am not a ursa player, but this helped me a lot to understand how ursa gameplay is. not a long ago, an enemy ursa was leveling our team to the ground, I was playing slardar, he never run into me, but I was preparing to counter ursa, I was playing position 2, I built deso and assualt curiass, at late game I got a good chance to stack my ult Twice on him, I literally killed him in four shot. Slardar is a great counter against Ursa

Highest winrate doesn't mean it's the best. A lot of the times, you select that when you're already winning so you take the talent so that you're even further ahead. Take for example the -20s healing ward talent on jugg (+13% WR) you take it when you're ahead and can just push for the win
