    • @RamirosLab

      The short answer is yes, but not robotics in the common use like ROS2, but for camera control such as focus tracking using YOLO. So… yes, but not like that.

    Super excited about this! If it's as accurate as described this could be the perfect indie camera tracking solution for micro budget work. Were you able to perform any successful tests in-studio with a cinema camera?

    Have you worked with the Xvisio SeerSense DS80 yet? I'm still VERY new to the VP world, and I picked one up to use for camera tracking in Unreal. Seems like there's a lot of potential in that camera/sensor.

    How would this program and device compare to t265 and aximmetry for virtual production? Would the zed2i with the plug-in allow for similar capabilities as them within ue?

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, technically it does. The only difference with Mo-Sys is that you need something to track, such as markers on the floor or ceiling.
      Mo-Sys patented "the use of randomly placed markers", which, in my opinion is not patentable since this was being used for years in post-production. Mo-Sys patent shouldn't exist.

      @@RamirosLab I see.
      At the end of the day, would it be fine for me to return my intel t265 and order the zed2i as my main camera tracker? If I were to use what you’ve shown in the video would it allow me to utilize the zed2i as a tracker pretty much like the vive tracker does natively?

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому

      @@UuU1001. ... there is nothing "natively", but "support" is the key word. ZED2 keeps giving support with LiveLink integration the same way Vive gives you support with LiveLink integration.
      Intel RealSense integration with LiveLink was thanks to a random developer (no disrespect), but not directly from Intel support. Same goes to ZED where they have developers actively adding support.
      I am not using ZED as a camera tracker but specifically as focus assistant that is doing an amazing job.
      If you sell the T-265 there is a lot of people willing to buy it.

      @@RamirosLab hello, a follow up question. Would there be a use of holding on to the intel t265? I noticed that you said that you would prefer to hold on to it. For me I would just like to have a camera tracker for simple virtual production purposes. Zed2i looks like it has more features and support. Is there any reason that I should hold onto the t265 (some unique feature over zed2i)?

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому +1

      First check that on your path you don't have any other character than alphanumeric... if you have weird ascii characters, that might be the main reason.
      To eliminate those errors what I do is to place the project on the lower level of your disk inside a folder with only alphanumeric characters (and make it also a short name)... most of the time those errors are due to exactly what the error message says, the full path exceeds the max amount of characters.
      Keep the file path short and simple.

      Not really. I noticed later that the lens was at 50mm and it was very accurate on previous tests, but I want to do a full test with a calibrated cinema lens and a good camera at the studio. I don't have perfect lens calibration with my setup because I am using a Viltrox speed-booster adapter and that threw off my calibration.

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому +4

      ... also, compared with the T-265, I don't see any sudden jump of frame, nothing. You might see here because I do a lot of cuts on my videos, but straight forward recordings it looks fine. But again, a studio test is the best test.

    • @RamirosLab
      @RamirosLab  2 роки тому +3

      ... also ... in my opinion, (even with the T-265), the best way to track space is to look at the ceiling with random IR lights or at the floor, with again random markers on the floor. I might make some tracker stickers also to randomly place on the floor for the studio test. There is one python script that I wanted to test for ever... this is the right moment for this project. I have to train the environment and train it for 10 minutes increments. That could be fun.
