      It doesn't have that much power. It seems barely adequate and that's with the car completely empty. Add another 500 kg and it'll be struggling.

      I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder because the interior looks like rubbish the mazda CX9 is miles ahead of the interior of this car and cost less.

    • @benjaminsmith2287

      Ride quality, yes. Interior, not any more, in my opinion. But the quality is there. The style is subjective. Mazda Cx9, Volvo xc90/xc60 are more stylish to my eyes.

    You know a 4 cylinder turbo is pretty strong when it’s “good enough” to put in a 4,700 lb $50K SUV. Underpowered? Maybe a little, but it still moves adequately when you need it to. VW AG’s AE888 engine is pretty remarkable.

    I got same exact q7 2.0t as this one except my interior leather is brown with black headliner and 20" wheel. I traded in my 2010 q7 diesel for it. I took five kids and my wife to see eclipse with cargo carrier on the roof drove 600 miles from PA to TN. With lesser weight than previous model. 2.0t power is enough for me. Very smooth acceleration. Engine is quiet when accelerating under 3000 rpm. My previous diesel model was louder even IDLING. Q7 is family car just like caravan. I take my 2018 BMW M4 convertible out when I want more power. I take my 2015 Honda Accord out when I want fuel efficiency(for work), I take my 2015 Toyota Tundra out when I need to haul stuff, last but not least, I take my 2004 Honda Accord v6 coupe (my first car) out......eh.....I just want to LOL. See! different vehicle for different occasion. Perfect!

    I have the 2019 I’m not a speed racer it drives really nice the 2.0 it’s plentiful to get on highway and it’s smooth too . If u wanna drive racier you can put it in dynamic mode and you will feel the torque . I leave it on comfort or auto most of the time . It also has more torque than my old Q7 with the 3.6 liter engine I like it a lot and it’s fun to drive too :)

    • @alexvega7527
      @alexvega7527 3 роки тому +1

      @superfuresh it’s been great so far I love it and my better half and best friend drive it love it too . I had to get a replacement tire because of a nail . That was 500 bucks at audi they balanced and did there thing like it never happened . I got it certified with 5000 miles . It has 12000 miles now I took it in for service and I bought the audi care . They did 20000 mile service on it they changed oil and brake fluid . That was covered . The alignment was fine but they suggested so I got that and had to pay 225 because the tires are expensive and to be safe they also rotated the tires too . The audi care was 1400 and it covers all maintenance to 50000 miles . I change oil every 5000 miles I don’t trust the ten thousand mile thing . It drives great on highway great passing power and the bose is broken in and sounds great too . I turn off surround and audio pilot . Every one likes the google maps on the screens they look neat when you see a baseball field or trees and water :) reliability so far has been great ! Just like my old Q7 3.6 ! Let’s not talk about my 2.7 Allroad 🤣🤣🤣 that car was a nightmare on elm street ! Always broken ! And I put thousands in it trying to keep it alive it lasted 6 years till I had enough and traded it for the Q7 3.6 my best friend felt bad for me he gave me 2000 bucks for it and sent it to the auction 😂😂😂. He owned a dealer at that time he no longer does car sales tho he’s in finance now but they rent the property out .

    For those who complain about small engines, go buy your old school v6 or v8 then. The companies who failed to adopt changes won't survive, technology only gets better anyway. Most consumers aren't car enthusiast like us, big engines only thrive in niche brand and models.

    • @IKhanNot
      @IKhanNot 7 років тому +6

      What's old school about the 3.0T motor? That's far better suited to a vehicle like this. I drove the 2018 Audi Q5 with this 2.0T and it's brilliant but the Q5 is far lighter and won't be carrying 7 people plus their baggage. Smaller FI motors are fine but there's a limit.

    • @search4unknown
      @search4unknown 7 років тому +7

      Small engines are fine in smaller vehicles. The Q7 is Audi's largest SUV. At least throw in a V6 supercharger or the V8 twin turbo. You cannot ask for a premium price and throw in a dog shit V4 turbo.

    That's a really nice car. Sounds really quiet unless you're going over bumps. Also sounds like the engine is working a little too hard, probably not as refined as a V6 would sound. I'd still buy one of these though.

  • @benjaminsmith2287
    @benjaminsmith2287 4 роки тому

    Honestly, you don't need the 6. The 6 sounds nicer but the 4 sounds fine. Mostly I have a radio or music on anyway and once you're cruising, you don't hear much of anything and this car is quieter than most. For the way most people drive this car, which is only accelerating hard to go up hills or pass or merge onto the highway, the 4 does the job.

    I remember the times, when we've had engines that could've easily go beyond 300-400k...

      AE888 engine has been around for over 10 years. It’s got an iron block which doesn’t hurt for longevity. Makes 300 hp in the Golf R and these can withstand 400+ hp without needing to upgrade pistons, rods etc. Its the plastic components that fail first, like most engines.

      Tehgziz Lauw - I totally get what you mean but the fact is that these cars are a direct reflection of what is actually bought by actual consumers. If people didn't buy cars like this they would not be on the market. People like to see cars with big naturally aspired engines. They like to see cars with manual gear boxes. They just don't buy them. A company can not work by producing what they can't sell.

      *Good power
      *Decent torque
      *Good fuel economy
      *Durability
      Then I don't care, honestly. They can put a two cylinder quad turbo in the next gen Q7 if they want to, as long as it gives the above.

    With how hard these engines will need to be pushed they probably won’t last long. Especially being turbo’d and with long oil drain intervals. But at the same time the intended design works, engine may be small but you are able to utilize 100% of it. What’s the point of having like 400hp in a Escalade when you may only use 60% of the power most of the time?

    • @IKhanNot
      @IKhanNot 6 років тому

      Honestly before buying this just get the TDI motor. The internals are strong and the torque output is great for it's size which will push a heavy Q7 with ease. At worst, you need to install a catch can system in the diesels to prevent oil/carbon deposits in the intake and intake valves. Because Audi doesn't sell as many TDI models (in North America at least) dealers will discount them quite a bit and the proven fuel savings will make for the slightly higher price than other models.

    I too am getting sick of these 2.0T engines slapped in 2.5 ton SUV's. Only brand trying to refine and retain the traditional V-6's is Toyota notably in sedans. Perhaps trying an enthusiast appeal. They kept theirs more up to date than Honda, which is partly why the Accord dropped the V-6 option but the Camry retained. Who ever saw Camry as the enthusiast's choice?

      Actually the same engine they use for the new A4 too. Audi's most powerful 4 cylinder and in it's class :D
      252 bhp isn't too cheap though. Plenty of power to get the Q7 around, especially in cities.

    • @Tonyx.yt.
      @Tonyx.yt. 7 років тому

      in it's class?
      are you kidding me? in europe there's a lot of more powerfull 2.0 4L than 252hp audi engine.
      and 250hp 2.0 turbocharger gas engine cant match in torque against the most common engine for this kind of vehicle in europe, the 3.0 v6 turbodiesel, 370nm is ridicolus low torque for a full size suv, a similar power 3.0 v6 have 550-600 nm and even with lower consumption.
      there's no reason to chose this engine other than fake homologation test and slight lower price

    I understand Volvo's rationale for the 2.0L in the XC90 as they are a small company with small R&D budget. At least the XC90 has a twincharger to make up for the small engine. Audi however...what are you doing?

  • @search4unknown

    Putting a 2.0T in an SUV as big as the Q7 is a sin. Absolutely horrendous to buy that. At least put in the 3.0 Supercharger or the 4.0TT.

      If you live in urban areas I do think a 4 cylinder with 252 BHP should be more than enough, plus it get's some better mpg

    I wish they made it sound more like BMWs with Active Sound Control (e.g. 5 Series, 4 Series) I know it’s fake but it makes it sound like their six cylinder engines.

    I get that the gas law are horrible in Germany but really, a 2 litre engine for a Q7, that's a lot for such a small engine...this version is for those that only care about the luxury and the feel of the car not the performance

    Trust me people complain about small engine in a suv !! Belive me in some country with a traffic jam and bumpy road like Cambodia u can own a car with v8 or v12 but u can never push ur car over 30km/h in city or more than 150km/h in Province road haha plus petrol way not cheap too!! Choose wisely
