I had the same problem with the black Hose Q connector leaking

I have only used a few times the launchpad but I’m unable to get it to the rated pressure without leaks because the black plastic part that is on top of the stainless steel tube has defective thread causing the air to leak
Is there a way to fix this issue

Thank you for reaching out to us, although it is better to contact us concerning support issues via the email address on the product box and included business card or on our website. Please correct me if I am making any wrong assumptions as I try to understand the issue. I assume you have a Standard model of our StratoLauncher IV. The black plastic part that you refer to is the Hose Q-Release that the nozzle is seated into when mounting a rocket. The stainless steel tube that you refer to is the aluminum manifold (or launcher body), which the Hose Q-Release screws into. It is possible that the threads could be defective on this Hose Q-Release, but highly unlikely. What creates the seal between the Hose Q-Release and the launcher body is the rubber washer inside the launcher body below the threads. If you have added any Teflon tape or glue to the black threads on the Hose Q-Release, then it will leak because it will be deforming the plastic threads by adding bulk and pushing the threads away from the interior of the launcher body. The threads on the Hose Q-Release do not require anything. The rubber washer will create the seal without any further additions. Make sure there is a rubber washer in the launcher body.
If the leak is occurring above the Hose Q-Release where the nozzle seats than make sure that the black clamp-on cable stop is not too tight on the Hose Q-Release. The outside sleeve on the Hose Q-Release should move freely and not bind. If it binds than a leak could occur between the Hose Q-Release and the nozzle. Also, check that there is an O-ring on the end of the nozzle or it will leak there as well. Please contact us if you have further questions or the information above does not resolve the issue. We look forward to hearing from you and getting you launching soon.

This video shows top two threaded holes occupied by plug screws. But such screws were not in the kit, and photo on front of kit shows a gauge, and a different fitting occupying those two holes. Suggest you update the video or otherwise clarify, thanks.

Thank you for your comments. There are 3 versions of the StratoLauncher IV, Standard (which is what this video is about) and the Deluxe and Ultimate version. They all perform the same, but have difference features at different price points. You can see the other assembly videos here:

Thanks for the quick reply. This clarifies things. But the link in the kit or maybe printed on the box was to the Standard video (at least, the text-based link; didn't use the QR code). @@StratoFins

@@markh.9698 The QR code should take you to a PDF of the appropriate launcher in the box whether that be Standard, Deluxe, or Ultimate. The printed URL should take you to the support page stratofins.com/manual/ which lists all the manuals for all of our products and one would select the launcher model you have.
