Hey! I Here's another song from my favorite game and soundtrack - DKC 2! It was composed by the wonderful David Wise, and was inspired by/based on "Theme from Antarctica" by Vangelis! I've been wanting to cover this song for so long and I'm glad to finally share it. :)
Michelle... Will you marry me? I promise you I will learn to play an instrument and we will play video game songs till we became an old and adorable couple.
You made a British man actually feel. Caught the nods to Stickerbrush Symphony at 1:37 and Aquatic Ambience at 2:46 ;) Just...simply incredible. You are the only subscription of mine that I manually check, waiting for your next piece, to then only sit through a bunch of your music each time. As a VG composer myself, there's just something about your voice that runs over your songs like silk that I can only aspire to replicate in my own work! To echo the sentiment of others here, the Donkey Kong Country 2 soundtrack is truly something special and I do hope to see more covers for that from you! To both you and your brother, keep up the heavenly work!
Michelle, this is so amazing. When I was seven years old, I saved up money for a whole year by doing chores around the house to buy a Super Nintendo. It came with DKC1. It took me a whole year to beat that game, and then one Christmas I got Donkey Kong Country 2. The first game was an unbelievable adventure and it was my favorite video game ever. I had no idea that DKC2 would be even better. DKC2 took me on a mystical voyage that lasted another whole year (I was a bad gamer so it took forever to beat games). It influenced my life in myriad ways. It made me interested in fantasy games and books. It also made me realize that music is a powerful emotional journey unto itself. Two decades later, I still listen to the soundtrack. I go on walks in the woods around my house with it. And when I found your channel last year, I started listening to your DK covers regularly. You are amazing, and I think it's so great to discover someone who loves that music as much as I do.
DKC2 was definitely one of my favorite games, too. I remember buying it while I was on a trip out of town and arriving back at home in the middle of the night because of weather delays. If you haven't played it yet, you definitely need to try "DKC: Tropical Freeze". I don't have a lot of time for games anymore, but it's one of the few retro games that really does justice to the original.
David Wise may be a genius, but the people he's inspired have so much skill and ability and its really heartwarming to see more work based on his scores. Keep up the amazing work!!
@@michelleheafy You have a beautiful voice Michelle, thank you for your DK contributions, I love enjoying all the different versions everyone uploads on UA-cam
Wow! I'm lost for words. This is the best cover of one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite composers. You're doing something that I could only dream of doing. You've earned yourself a subscriber! I don't know why you don't have more subscribers. Keep up the wonderfully awesome work! David Wise would be proud! God bless!
I can see whiy this made it to the MSU-1 iteration of DKC2. Your interpretation of the song is so beautifully performed! I always wondered where it originated from, and at LONG LAST, I found it!
I've never hit the subscription button so fast in my life. GOD DAMNIT. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. Made me shed a tear. It pains me that I haven't discovered this channel earlier.
It's been several years and I still can't get over how you threw The Flower Duet in there. DK2 was my all-time favorite childhood game, and I've listened to this song for decades. I'm a musician myself, and I would never have thought of that. I never 'heard' it until you did it. And now it feels like it completely belongs there, and the original is absent something important.
Hello! I'm a fan of the DKC series (especially DKC2). This video is the most perfect and special gift every fan of the game could receive. It is possible to notice all the love and effort that you put into this work and you can be sure that it was worth it. You will be able to make each heart a little warmer with all this affection :). The result was wonderful. We can only say thank you, from the heart, thank you very much! S2
You Know what's best? When you enter in a Icy stage in DKC series you always get the feeling of the chilliy and snowy land. Mostly, when I first entered the Artic Abyss, and heard the Snow-bound land for the very first time, its melody captivated me from the beginning from the end. In her cover, michelleheafy gave the best shot on the music, to feel the nostalgia that almost made me cry. Now, I wake up and think: this song cover made my Day. Let's listen: In a Snow-bound Land. Congratulations for the video!
Awesome cover, Michelle! On your last DKC2 cover, I mentioned I hoped to see In A Snow-Bound Land next... so happy to see it :) The white tops were a cool (get it?) touch for the song! As always, the DKC references are so much fun to try to find-- I heard Stickerbush Symphony at 1:40, and I loved the Aquatic Ambiance reference at 2:50. -David
Your covers have been inspiring me to continue my musical endeavors for years now, Michelle. Seriously, thank you so much for these quality pieces of art that you work so hard on. They’re simply beautiful and motivational to listen to
This is beautiful! You have such a soothing voice Michelle! Thank you for making and sharing this! DK Country 2 is one of my favorite video games! There Isn't enough music played from the series aside from Jungle Japes and Stickerbrush Symphony!
Was just thinking about your stuff yesterday, wondering when we'd get the next awesome video and bam here it is! This is out of this world, thanks very much!
Something about this song just has a surreal effect on me. Never mind who you are, but all the precise factors are in place that in my mind, this is a masterpiece. Thank you for creating this!
Another one of my favorite video game tracks of all time and you once again did Donkey Kong Country 2 justice. DKC2 is one of the greatest games I've ever played and its stellar soundtrack is definitely one of the reasons. Great work, Michelle :D
DKC2 has such a way to capture emotions and feelings. Your music perfectly recreates the vision Wise had in mind. Great as always! PS: I hear those little nods to Stickerbush Symphony!
Your covers are the best! DKC2 is my favorite OST as well so it's amazing to see so many covers of it in one place, and done so well. Also interesting that your keyboard's wave sequences sound a LOT like the original game I notice... plus for this specific song your voice is perfect for that choir/vocal melody :P. It all fits really well.
Thanks for returning to make more awesome covers! I've always gotten a wonderful vibe from ice and snow levels in DKC games and this one has such a lovely serenity to it. Though Joe by The Cranberries really sounds nothing like this piece, I seem to always get reminded of it when I hear that song. Specifically, the mandolin riff in its chorus.
Glad to see you are back up here and with our favorite game at that! As I go through your page, I see consistent improvement. I like this one even better than the Forest Interlude and the Forest Interlude is still my favorite track from the game; THAT is how obvious it is to see the improvement in your works. Keep it up!
First time I heard it, a goosegumps was running on my back. Trully fascinating! Hey, DKC 2 is my favorite game too. So I'm very grateful to all your work. Seriously, keep doing these the most awesome covers I've ever heard! Thank you very much and wish you best!
@@michelleheafy Oh wow! That's great news! I'm looking forward to it so much! Thank you very much for your effort and for informing me! Such a good news and it's so intriguing. Just one question: Would you like to cover any of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild", "Sonic Mania" or "Super Mario Bros. 3" soundtrack? It have to be very impressive and cool, I'm sure of it! P.S. Greetings from Russia :D
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I definitely plan to cover something from Breath of The Wild. I have a few ideas, and it just moved up on my list. :) I also love SMB3 music! Greetings to Russia! :D

yay a new somg :) thank you. also i find it great that in each video every individual 'voice'/video performance is so different. what i mean is, the 'singer' in the top left is concentrated on the camera and plays with the audience (for example a wink here, a smile there), while the 'singer' on the bottom left is completly in her/your own world. this really add to the whole ensemble and help to draw the viewer into the video. i always wonder if this is on purpose or just depends on what day you recorded it.
