Let me know if you have any suggestions or feedback, and let me know what I should cover in part 2! Download the Victoria BC (Rural) from poplarponderosa: mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/97469/Any Save game: mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/100121/Any
This should be the tutorial built into the game. This is absolutely brilliant. I’ve played thousands of hours across CS1 & CS2 and I’ve learned from this video. It’s absolutely superb and I can’t wait for number two. Suggestion for number two, would be to slow down for a moment to recommend to new players, what trees and bushes you use, so they can make note of them.
Thanks for the very kind words. After spending so many hours on it, I’m glad to know it was helpful. And great suggestion for part 2! If you think of anything else I should cover let me know!! 💡
Keep it vanilla and guide us by showing us what BIG expenses and services you choose first to make it work in terms of development (college, recycling center, electricity production) post 10k population.
Fantastic! This is exactly what CSI transplants need to get started in CS2. Please keep going and show us how to create mass transit especially trains.
@@College-Builder I need a deep dive on outside connections and getting people to arrive in my city by bus or train rather than cars or taxi's. Thanks so much!
Very awesome video. Haven't done much CS2 since it came out, all the bugs have been annoying but lately its been better. Your video has me wanting to jump back in and have some fun! For your next video, I hope you focus a little on Transit, like buses or maybe Trams? Maybe Porter what an LRV system? Keep up the great work, got my Sub!
Thanks for the comment and suggestion! I have definitely enjoyed playing but also looking forward to seeing what else they come out with and future fixes. Has there been a particular bug that has bothered you or is it just in general? And great idea on the transit. I will add that to my list for the next episode!
Sooooo, i've noticed that i had watch 2 other videos of yours without going with it probably only because you were playing with Unlimited Money and Unlock Everything. But this one, loved it! I hope for weekly video of this serie to follow along CPP, Infra, Impe, and others. Editing is great, voice is soothing, explanation are clear and the end result amazing. Hopefully you wont use Unlimited Money and Unlock Everything in futur series so i can watch these too! I'll be there for the next one. Merci.
Hi there, thank you so much for the kind words and feedback. I definitely plan to continue this series although sadly I won’t be able to weekly, at least not for right now. I will do some others without unlock all in the future but I also plan to continue with my Marathon Cove series. Thanks again, I really value the feedback and appreciate you watching!! 🙏☺️
Oh that’s fun!! I didn’t look at any maps of the real area so my guess is that my build doesn’t resemble real life at all. Hopefully it’s not too bad 🤣🤣🤣
Great tutorial! I will take your guidelines into account. The only thing I missed was the lack of public transportation, but hey, it's an American town in the end 😅
Haha yes it needs public transportation for sure! I am thinking of covering that in part 2. What type would you like to see? Maybe buses or trams? Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!
Not just talk but this is a REAL professional tutorial. Fantastic work and much appreciated. I'm following along as this is my first build to learn the game but my money continues to count down when I'm not paused, and I see yours is not. What am I doing wrong? Do you have a money mod?
So glad you liked it! And sorry to hear about your budget. I'm not playing with any mods that impact money or game mechanics. When you look at the budget tab, where do you see your biggest expenses? Also, how many tiles have you unlocked? I didn't cover tile upkeep in part 1 because I didn't need to get to it yet, but that will be in part 2. Unlocking a lot of tiles costs money.
@@College-BuilderThanks for the reply it is mostly Tile upkeep. Tile Up keep is 10,501,416, Service Upkeep is $8,106 and Service Trade is $62. I do have a lot of other mods in the game but I didn't personally unlock anything unless a mod is already doing it. Is there a place I can see how many are unlocked? Thanks for the response, I'm really enjoying this game and want to get it going lol!!! edit...I just tried to build a road outside of my tile and I could not so I'm assuming only 1 tile. edit edit...I just looked at mods and I had 529 tiles from another tutorial I was following but abandoned and am now following yours. I'm going to log in now with this disabled, fingers crossed
@@College-Builder Its fixed after disabling the tile mod. Thank you for your fast reply it helped me immensely. I'm subbed and I look forward to your 2nd video in this series.

One thing I really like to do early is to reduce the fees for both water and electricity to zero. For a very small impact to your budget you get a huge boost to both happiness and corporate profitability. You citizens have more spending power and level up faster. Businesses do likewise.
Hello! I cover some of how to use Lumina in this video, ua-cam.com/video/I7d4wInIjBM/v-deo.html - I think around 14:47 or so. Let me know if that works for you or if I can help more!
🥰 haha ok thank you ☺️ I actually recorded my commentary from this episode twice. I didn’t like the first version so then I started over from scratch. 🤣 I appreciate the comment and support!
Its awesome but, and i mean that with no judgment, i personally dont understand how people manage to play with anarchy and move it.. they should come with the vanilla actually
I totally get it! I’ve become so used to playing with Anarchy and MoveIt that it was a real challenge to me to play this city without them! I would be curious to see them implemented in vanilla. What do think about Traffic mod in vanilla?
@College-Builder once youve played with roads in CS2 its pretty impossible to go back to CS1, and the road builder seems like a must now. But its also good for beginners to start 100% vanilla, it makes total sense
100% agree. Road builder seems like it would be an amazing addition to the base game. For me, the most important mod that is missing was originally called extended road tools (I think) and is now added to anarchy. It allows you to add quay walls, bridges, etc. with the click of a button. I am already not sure how I will play without those in my vanilla build 🤣🤣🤣
I just watched someone before this and they said a few mins in that you should just use a mod and so I went elsewhere, and you did the same thing. Just felt like I should mention this time, as a beginner, who’s trying to play the game as it was designed. And straight away you say to not use the things already in the game. Is there a guide that’s not downloading new maps? I feel like games are built the way they are by the developers with the things and challenges they care about. What I mean is I wanted to learn how to play, not to learn that you can’t play and you’ve got to download things to be successful. Or is that what you’re saying? That you can’t? All due respect and thanks for the video though.
Hi there, I truly appreciate the comment and understand where you are coming from. The developers actually built the game so that you should be able to download custom maps and play on them. There are many intro guides out there that start on one of the maps that come with the game. I thought about doing that, but then I figured the vanilla maps had been seen so much that a fresh map would be more fun. At least, that was my rationale. I approached my build as I would approach it on any other map, including the vanilla ones. I think you can play the vanilla maps quite successfully using the approach I show. I didn't introduce any mods that impact the games mechanics, economy, pathfinding, etc., so that someone who wants to learn to play vanilla can do so. I admit I introduced a few mods that change the game appearance, but that was personal preference and they don't impact game play. I could have produced the exact same video without those appearance mods. For me, those appearances are just personal preference. I hope that is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions and thank you for the feedback!
A US american planner who builds the highway as a ring road and doesn't just turn it into a straod through the middle of town? Mind blown! ;D No, seriously, I'm looking forward to what you will do with this "tutorial" city as you seem less focussed on making it look like an american city and more on teaching good (modern) design principles. I got the impression watching your other series that you would build a city *quite* differently than the US still does if given the chance (i.e. not faced with all the political hurdles any project has to jump).
@@College-Builder I mean, focussing on technology, education and walkability as core values is a great start. And I really like how you manage to make your cities look really unique and characteristic by utilizing such simple things as parks and paths really creatively. The adherance to a strict grid still makes them look inherently north american, but this one would rank among the most liveable places out there.
I understand that perspective. I have enjoyed playing modded builds a lot but also really enjoyed playing without game changing mods in this build. I will be curious to see what other quality of life mods they add and how the game progresses in the future.
