Thanks for the info. Loved your video. Question: Will this also shine or make my LVP glossy? J am a little dissapointed with my LVP because the salesman says it has high gloss but when they installed it, It was not and looks very dull and bland. No gloss at all. Please help…
Hi thanks for the tips and the no- no's. Unfortunately, I used "Brite" product on my LVT and it is awful. How should I remove it? Any advice greatly appreciated!
I have a slab home with laminate/vinyl plank flooring. I was told by the contractor who built my home that string mops would leave too much liquid...... I used a string mop in my older home but this new flooring had me worried.
Can I just do level 2 cleaning only on my LVP flooring that is click type and not glued down. I’m not supposed to get the floor wet but just damp mopped. I do I damp mop with a string mop?
I remember watching this a little over a year ago. We were waiting for our first home to be built and I was trying to educate myself on how to keep my new home clean. The minute I finished watching this, along with some other videos, I headed to amazon, ordered some glass bottles, Mrs Meyers solution, ended up getting the rubber maid spray mop as I couldn't find the O Cedar one, got a bunch of extra microfiber pads and lots of microfiber cloths. Now, since we had our home first week of november, I have been using solution #1 every other day, sometimes everyday if needed. I haven't had to use solution #2 more than 2-3 times max! And those time were because it was spring and we obviously had no paved driveway yet. So much mud and dirt. I love solution #1. It's amazing. Takes little to no time, I actually do the whole house since I use the same method for my vinyl and laminate floor as well. It's great. So so so thankful to have found your channel last year. I find myself coming back to it quite often! I'm about to tackle my patio sliding door tracks this weekend. Could not find a video on it, which I think you did tell me already there isn't one. I forget lol. I will do my best without your assistance, lord help me! 🤣🤣🤣
How much alcohol do you put in a bucket. I use that mop but i cut up old towels so i don't have to buy those cloths. Also doesnt alcohol dry out the vinyl?
The alcohol worked. I don’t know if it’s good for any kind of vinyl floors, but probably once in a while is just fine. If someone’s floors are like mine, then it might be necessary to use alcohol. I don’t which type of flooring this though, so I can’t say. I just did a 50-50 solution of peppermint method floor cleaner with water, just diluting it because yeah it was leaving sticky residue which was definitely the main problem I think. This stuff is supposed to be OK floors and not need to be rinsed, but that is just not the case. I then added a few tablespoons of alcohol. It smells, but we can walk on the floors now without our feet turning black. Literally, all I’ve done is mop and sweep and mop, driving myself crazy. Every single day, only to have black feet. I really think it’s the alcohol that did the trick. Anyway, thank you so much for the tip and the video! Yes it worked! The alcohol may be killing flies too, so that’s good.
Glad you got it figured out. Yes 50/50 is alot of cleaner. More than likely you will meed to do a rinse after that due to the strength of the concoction👍🙂
@@CleanWithConfidence well it’s one of those mop n glo type of cleaner. It’s supposed to be ready to go and no need for anything , except squirt and mop… definitely not for vinyl even though it say hard floor and vinyl. I diluted it with 50 percent water. I even tried my friends swifter which specifically says vinyl as well, it it, too, was leaving sticky residue. Maybe vinyl just needs to have a rug. 😂 Vinyl just needs a very specific type of cleaner. How can so many products get it wrong?
@@CleanWithConfidence Well, I didn’t want to buy stuff in case it didn’t work, so I worked with what I had. Now that I know it’s going to work, I’m gonna switch to the Ms. Meyer’s. They have that exact one at the store. 😂I’m sorry but I just broke it down to what you said about residue, alcohol and cleaners. It made sense to me on a root of the problem level! Yes, I am gonna try it. I just already tried a few things and didn’t want to buy a bunch more junk.
@@jamieott7080 gotcha. There is a consistent fact in mopping that applies to everything regardless of the concoction and that is when a cleaner is left on the floor it will ultimately produce a sticky residue if not rinsed off. You can get away with not rinsing if the concoction is heavily diluted though. The strength of the concoction in this video is a good mixture where you shouldn’t have to rinse. I should also mention that the concoction and method in this video is for everyday maintenance. Once a month or every two months, it might be a good idea to pull out a good old fashioned string mop and thoroughly clean the floor that way. If you dont know how to use a string mop I made a video entitled “How to Mop” I would recommend that video to you👍🙂
I just moved into an apartment with all vinyl floors and it has to be cleaned nearly every day. We don’t have huge traffic. It’s just dust… dust and grime and everything seems to just stick, lots of lint, I just can’t believe how much work this floor is. Maybe there’s a sticky residue, I don’t know. I’ll try it. Anything at this point. Haha he is funny… he is new school.

I tried a cleaner to take off patchy polish job. . That left a terrible bare patch. Now using ammonia and soap and water. The discoloured patch is still there. What should I try next.
Hello Thomas my name Dean I've been a professional home cleaner for about 2yrs. I have client how is an owner of McDonald's. His office is above the McDonald's that being said many of the employees go upstairs with their greasy work shoes. Now it has build up onto the vinyl floors. I've tried your method with the Dawn Dish Soap and ring mop. And it didn't do anything. The owner was gone away so I didn't have him as a client for quite a while. Yesterday and today was when he asked me to come clean. I literally spent most of the time cleaning the floors trying my best to get the sticky grease off. It was still sticky after I eft but not as bad. Oh another thing does humidity play a factor into vinyl flooring being sticky. Any info is greatly appreciated.
I know you don't recommend wax however I'm looking to get a high gloss look on my vinyl wood floors. Is there a way to achieve the look without damaging the floors?
Watching this at 3:30 am starring at my string mop laughing 😂 I’m gonna try this, thank you. I’m 25 “new school” wondering how I found myself on the floor with a string mop at 3:30 am. Never thought I’d be pushing around an old school mop.
Is this solution of rubbing alcohol, Mrs. Meyers, & water safe to mop when you have pets? I love my spin mop. I guess because it wrings out most of the water.
So I need to Disinfect the Vinal plank flooring in my Salon... Would Level one with the alcohol Disinfect? With the pandemic we are in I need to kill viruses and I am lost when it comes to my vinal plank floors.. help!
I was randomly browsing ways to clean LVP floors I literally just had that installed in my apartment and I was using a Swifer Wet Jet and was wondering if that's good for LVP floors or not! Was thinking surely there's a better way! Thank You for the excellent advice!
Is the swiffer wet jet solution considered abrasive solution?? I used the swiffer wet pads and afterwards read from my flooring company website saying to only use ph neutral products and don’t ever use cleaners with any detergents so I’m wondering if the suggestions in the video meet that standard thank you
Just got premium vinyl flooring installed. I already have the O’Cedar pro mist. Does it matter what strength the alcohol level is? I have seen 99% and 70%.
Hi there I accidentally used industrial strength vinegar on my brand new vinyl floors . I think I stripped them bc they get so dirty so easily. They absorb everything. What can I put on them now to to restore them ?
I just bought a house with this type of flooring, I've never had anything other than carpet and stick tile flooring. I'm still struggling with keeping the wood floors clean. It's tough!
Uh oh... I think I used too much spray cleaner on mine for the initial cleanup after contractors were here. Got the dreaded dull residue! Time for the string mop?!
Hello. ❤️ I have just completed a post construction clean of a new home where there was a flood a few months ago causing a buildup of muddy clay on the new floors in the basement. 1500 sq. I spent hours with a microfibre mop. Washing rinsing etc. It still seems dirty and grey looking. Can you suggest what I can do to get them back to the original state? I feel as though the home builders have left it sit to long and is now embedded. Help please. 🥺💗
Perhaps a soft deck brush followed by a string mop?... The problem with microfiber mops is the fact that they don’t really get into the grooves/pores of the flooring.

Won’t the tubing alcohol take the shine out of the floor??
How much water ? I do t know how big the reservoir is and I don’t have that same mop!🤗
How my oz of solution will fit in the bottle? Or how big is the bottle? I'm trying to use the solution, just need to know how much water to add to it.
Loved the video! Is it the same for wood plank flooring?
No ma'am, I actually have a different video for how to clean hardwood floors: ua-cam.com/video/cHfBpM4lQzo/v-deo.html
Glorious presentation
thanks
Thank yoooooou ! I just moved in my new spot and its all hardware flooring. Your the best !!!!!
Happy to help
I know you don't recommend wax however I'm looking to get a high gloss look on my vinyl wood floors. Is there a way to achieve the look without damaging the floors?
You would need to purchase a high gloss flooring in that case👍
Watching this at 3:30 am starring at my string mop laughing 😂 I’m gonna try this, thank you. I’m 25 “new school” wondering how I found myself on the floor with a string mop at 3:30 am. Never thought I’d be pushing around an old school mop.
Lol glad you enjoyed the video🙂
Just blue Dawn dish soap and warm water in the O Cedar works great too.
Yes sir
@@CleanWithConfidence works so great!
Your Videos like many of us are saying Are Great! You are gonna keep getting the 🙌🏾 Hi-Five just because. Thank You Sir!
Thanks Mr Gerald! Glad you enjoyed the video🙂
Is it okay to use level 2 on a regular basis, say every week?
Is this solution of rubbing alcohol, Mrs. Meyers, & water safe to mop when you have pets? I love my spin mop. I guess because it wrings out most of the water.
Of course👍
Does this work for newer o cedar models that hold 20oz of liquid
Yes sir
So I need to Disinfect the Vinal plank flooring in my Salon... Would Level one with the alcohol Disinfect? With the pandemic we are in I need to kill viruses and I am lost when it comes to my vinal plank floors.. help!
You never use disinfectant on vinyl flooring you will damage the flooring.
How much Mrs Meyers to use? Mine has a sprayer on the top. 1/2 teaspoon or 1 teaspoon?
Is the isopropyl alcohol formula safe for pets? I have a puppy
Of course👍
Thank you so much! Its really helpful!! 😊
Thank you for this. I was about to buy a steamer today at the store and my gf told me to research first lol
Happy to help!
Yes actually I have asked for a steamer for Christmas. I did some research and it is not recommended to steam clean vinyl, even tho it’s waterproof.
Getting my lvp installed as we speak. Level 2 is my kind of mopping. Thanks for the tip
You are welcome!
Is Bona Hardwood Floor Polish High Gloss ok for vinyl plank floors (not the cleaner) or does it contain wax
If it doesn't say Vinyl flooring on the product do not use it.
I was randomly browsing ways to clean LVP floors I literally just had that installed in my apartment and I was using a Swifer Wet Jet and was wondering if that's good for LVP floors or not! Was thinking surely there's a better way! Thank You for the excellent advice!
Happy to help!
Is the swiffer wet jet solution considered abrasive solution?? I used the swiffer wet pads and afterwards read from my flooring company website saying to only use ph neutral products and don’t ever use cleaners with any detergents so I’m wondering if the suggestions in the video meet that standard thank you
Loved the video btw just want to make sure its ok on my floors
What's yhe frequency? Is weekly too much?
Just depends on how much foot traffic you have and how long the floors stays clean👍
Weekly should be good.
Just got premium vinyl flooring installed. I already have the O’Cedar pro mist. Does it matter what strength the alcohol level is? I have seen 99% and 70%.
It wont matter the strength either will work👍🙂
Thanks friend, your advice worked great on my floors!
Happy to help!
I used that and got black streaks all over the floor. LVP. How do I get the black streaks out?
Sounds to me like the mop head you were using was dirty. You would need to change the mop head and start with a clean one.
I’ve been using this for awhile. Love it
:)
Bro! I just got Vinyl plank floors, I've been looking for a good cleaner! This sounds awesome!
Glad you enjoyed the video!!
Hi there I accidentally used industrial strength vinegar on my brand new vinyl floors . I think I stripped them bc they get so dirty so easily. They absorb everything. What can I put on them now to to restore them ?
Sorry to hear that!! I am not sure what you can do to restore them actually. You may call the manufacturer and see if they have any advice for you.
I just bought a house with this type of flooring, I've never had anything other than carpet and stick tile flooring. I'm still struggling with keeping the wood floors clean. It's tough!
Totally new to this floor.
You’re my FAVORITE PERSON!!!❤️
Thanks for the encouragement🙂
