    What is RAST?
    From the level of feedback from you, our customers, SWING Ram Air Section Technology (RAST) is our most important contribution to date under this premise. RAST is a technical design element that makes paragliding more predictable for you by dividing the canopy into different pressure zones. The glider behaviour is more stable and easier to control, especially in turbulent conditions.
    What RAST does for the individual pilot varies.
    Experienced pilots can use RAST to better exploit the performance potential of their glider even in challenging conditions. Beginners and schools especially appreciate the support provided by RAST during take-off.
    With RAST, the air equalisation flows inside the paraglider canopy can be regulated through defined openings. This applies both when inflating (take-off) and when deflating. In case of pressure loss, e.g. caused by collapses, the relative internal pressure of the CORE section increases, while the BUFFER section absorbs the introduced energy by deformation.
    Furthermore, RAST can be used as an additional tension level to the leading and trailing edge, which has a positive effect on flight comfort. As RAST connects the ribs over the entire profile height, the construction has a stiffening effect and reinforcements and/or stiffening elements can be saved, or even completely replaced, by this special construction method.

    Flying safety is certainly important. But before we fly... these launches with RAST... Almost effortless forward launch. And very calm reverse launch, even if the wind speed is comparable to the trim speed of your glider

    Der Gewinn an Sicherheit ist deutlich. Ich bemerkte eine leichte Schrumpfung an der Extrados, wo sich die Rast befindet. Könnte es in dieser Region zu einem Verlust durch Luftablösung kommen? Besteht mit der Zeit und Hitze die Gefahr des Schrumpfens?

    Don't understand the explanation what is wrong with the Agera. I've bought a second-hand one with 20 hours and haven't flown it in South Africa yet. Should I be worried or concerned?

      No, but trim it.
      Originally the tips were a little fast.
      People weren't as comfortable trimming gliders in 2019 when agera was released

      No, there is no reason to worry as a satisfied Agera RS pilot. The Agera RS is a really beautiful, safe and high-performance paraglider. The Problems we had, was in production to reflect the production margins in the series. For example, a third was rejected after quality control, because the smallest differences in the sensitive tension setting of the Agera RS had a negative effect on handling. The gliders sold were previously flown in, trimmtuned and tested at great effort. You as a satisfied Agera RS pilot have one these and we wish you lot´s fun and manny more beautiful flights with it.

    Airlock technology was used with great succes on parachutes early 2000's. Never got really popular as users would struggle after landing because the parachute wouldn't collapse.
    Shame really

      When I first heard of RAST, I thought about Brian Germain's canopies straight away. Only ever saw one in the UK and yes, it was a pain to deflate
