Dang there’s no videos on this repair truly
New sub, really appreciate the vid. Just purchased a 2010 Mazda 3 2.0 and removing the intake today to replace PCV valve.
TC in Annapolis Maryland
Thank you!
Hi, sorry, can you help me? I have a 2010 Mazda 3 and I have code p2017 Configurable Intake Manifold Position Sensor/Switch - High Voltage and I changed the map sensor, the solenoid, I also cleaned the throttle body and it still comes out the same, thanks.
Says this worked for 2009 Mazda 6. Is that correct?
Yes, if your engine looks like the one in the video.
Nice work. I’m trying to do the same thing but my curious is do you have to drain coolant before the taking the manifold out? I will appreciate.
Thank you, no you don’t have to drain coolant
So I’m working on my Mazda 2 2011 with a very similar layout. I have 4 intake gaskets and 1 throttle body gasket. I have seen that the Mazda 6 has another gasket that goes where the emissions port is. I haven’t taken out my intake manifold and I haven’t been able to find info on that gasket. I was just wondering if in that Mazda 3 u worked on, there was another gasket apart from the 4 intake and the 1 throttle body.
Hi, on that car it was only the 4 intake and 1 throttle body gaskets. Not sure about your Mazda 6, What you can do is look up your intake manifold on line in images and see if you can see other gaskets or in the Mazda online OEM site if they list any other gaskets.
Awesome video. My son and I are takling a cylinder head gasket replacement on a 2012 mazda 3 and this was driv8ng me crazy.
Lol, no problem! Thanks for the comment
@@motorcarnutMy son and I are close to taking the cylinder head off of the block so I bought the TDC cam bar and the purple bolt you had in your video.
We are using a Chilton repair manual and a PDF I bought online to help guide us through the process. We are also video recording each part we are dissassembling and have individual labeled ziplock bags to keep bolts and nuts in.
This said, I could use some help with a few queations I have regarding timing, TDC and Cam position so I was wondering if you would consider a quick video chat sometime this Saturday when we are in front of the car turning-wrenches? We can pay for your time. Appreciate your consideration.
Sorry, as of now I don’t video chat but can answer any questions you have about the timing. Let me know.
@@motorcarnut No worries! Thanks for responding
I know the description mentions up to 2012, but can this apply to the 2013 2.0L engine?
If yours looks similar then yes.
Is it easy to install back again
Not bad
Is it ok to remove it to just clean it? 60k Kms at the moment, no issue with the car
You can if you want. Just replace the gasket.
Are the bolts in same location on 2012 Mazda 3 skyactiv 2.0 motor?
I believe so
Great video, how about a new installation?
Thanks
Coming soon!
2 big 10mm bolts and 6 medium size 10mm and yes I you clean the gunk off the flaps yes it will give your car better performance 👍. I got 2005 mazda3 SP23
Thanks for the tips!
Hello. I'm trying to replace the water hose that is behind the intake and looks likebi have to remove the intake, if i do that would all the engine oil leak?
No, just have to replace the gaskets.
Thank you very much.
No problem
Does the flaps breaking off and destroying the engine apply for the 2007 Mazda premacy ( Mazda 5 EU)?
Heard the duratec engines have that problem.
Yes it does, unfortunately.
Do you know if this is the same (basically) for a 2.5? I have a 2010 mazda 3 and was looking to do this myself.
It's different.
Hi what tools.did you use? Thanks
I believe those bolts were 10mm. I used 3/8 socket wrench and some extensions.
@@motorcarnut Thanks.
Is this the same as the 1.6 litre petrol engine?
Not sure, if yours looks like this one then I’d say yes.
Im having an issue with my manifold. Its related to the swirl flaps. Ive noticed mine are closed in the default position when it looks like everyone elses is open. Opposite to yours. At rest their closed and if the actuator pulls in it opens them. Idk how they couldve got messed up like that but it seems to be the case. Unless its different for the 2.0 from 2006.
No they should be open.
Sometimes inside the inside they fail to open I had the same thing on my you have to replace the whole intake manifold
I know
@@sergioestrada9185
Just remove them it's what I did. No negative side effects
Hi is the knock sensor in behind the inlet manifold on this engine?
Yes it is right in the middle below manifold.
Thanks!
You bet!
Thanks, that help me!!
No problem, thank you
Excelente trabajo
Thank you!
How there's nothing on the 2013? And it's definitely not the same as this one.
Because I didn't do one yet, lol. Sorry,
@@motorcarnut no I'm sorry,I should have worded it another way. I'm trying to find out how to do it. There's no video, not even a Haynes mechanic book.🤦
Try you local online library, they usually have repair manuals for free and pretty good too.
@@motorcarnut thanks I'll try them
Bro that’s what I’m saying no video at all

Thanks
