I have chopped kindle wood in a similar way, drunk, without a chopping block, in the dark with a splitting axe and I don't recommend this style to anyone under any circumstance.
They say that if you see a tracer round coming at you, you have probably already been hit. Because when they load the mags it's about every 4th or 5th round that is a tracer. That means that there's 3 or 4 bullets in front of the one that you can see.
I dunno who said that because if you've been hit by the afore mentioned 3 or 4 bullets, you probably won't see the tracer round behind it. Nor would you care. I think seeing a tracer bullet is a good indication that your still alive and well.
@@lukas-bm3df logic yes but as far as loads go my dad that was in boot for the us army 73~76 said he loved tracer's and him and his buddys would load up the 1st 3 with 2 or 3 tracers and then the rest was every 3rd or 4th shot; some guys even made it ware the last round of the last 5 was a tracer and 6th7th was back to back so if u lost count you'd know you would have about 5 remaining.
Interesting! Tracers dont leave the perfect streak of color as often seen in video games. Theres jagged edges and sparks coming off from the pyrotechnic compound in the base of the bullet. This is a great reference for me as an amateur game developer working on an FPS game with an emphasis on realism to model tracer round trails more accurately. As both a developer and a gun enthusiast with actual firearms knowledge, I feel like I can produce quite a realistic game eventually.
@@JakeOfNorthIdaho much appreciated, thanks for posting these! Between your vids and other gun channels like Misha's Guns, I'm getting lots of good reference material to use. If I ever do finish this project, I plan to include every source I used for reference in a special section in the credits.
For Educational Purposes: These are all tracer rounds, most people will not be shooting at you with tracer rounds. If you are being shot at there will most likely be bullets impacting around you with dirt or dust kicking up. God pray if you do see tracer rounds it's probably a machine gun of some sort spraying, and you're only seeing 1/5 of the actual bullets being fired. If your close enough to hear the hypersonic pop, and the bang simultaneously, you're probably already hit (nobody shoots near somebody without seeing them unless you're already engaged) be sure to have and know how to use an IFAK. If you start hearing popping, then banging, you better have been rehearsing your Call Of Duty dolphin dive into prone behind adequate cover to avoid being "wallbanged" i.e. shot through cover. Even a small incline between you and the aggressor can be used such as in the beginning of the video, but MG rounds are known for a penetration depth of roughly 3ft of dirt Achieving fire superiority and maneuvering fire should be a prime objective to avoid being fixed in place i.e. "pinned down", unless retreating is a better option. @@justinr9784 I've never been in combat, but it's better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war. Wargames exist to further implement proficient strategies and remove rudimentary ones without being in the line of fire.
I loaded all my mags straight 5.56 tracer in combat (M4 carbine). Most everyone else only loaded the last 3 in the mag, not me, though. I said screw it, straight tracer it is.
@petehaack5228 are you able to generally choose your mag loading? I always wondered this, what determines the type of 5.56 ammo your able to use on a specific mission of deployment? What determines if you will use m855, m193, mk262 etc?
The reason we treat all firearms as if they are loaded is because we don't want an accident, however skilled we may think we are. I could probably go my entire life flagging the shit out of my leg, foot, arm, hands without ever shooting myself because I always KNOW when my firearm is loaded and when it is not. You should always know, but I STILL DON'T FLAG myself. The same concept applies to cutting firewood. You may go your entire life never cutting your finger off because you are "Super skilled", but maybe you won't.... Thanks for the video.
I remember the infiltration course at Ft. Benning during Advanced Individual Training basically Infantry school. We had to crawl if I remember right 100 yards with barbed wire and sand bag bunkers and did this at night. They would shoot a machine gun over your head as you crawl and it looks like it inches above. Very interesting experience. Very different in combat because I can hear the crack like a loud snap and the impact in front of me or random rounds hitting the walls near me as they ricochet. 🙄😬
Keep up the good work man we talked for a little bit about me moving to Idaho, overall you have a great personality and I’m sure your Chanel will go far I can also say I was your sixth sub 😂 🤘🏻.
You can see it really well in a scene from the superb Russian war movie Come and See. They were using a machine gun and they also shot a cow with it in that scene, but it gives you a great perspective. I’m not certain, but I think they really did shoot the cow.
Just normal RIFLE rounds at dusk or at night, you see a SUPER BRIGHT muzzle flash and red wires heading towards you. If you have the SENSE, it scares the SHEEET out of you! But if you AIM at the flash, all of the sudden, no more flashes from there! In the morning when you check bodies, you see people with HOLES where their faces used to be. "If he can hit you, you CAN KILL HIM!"-Small arms instructor...
(Army veteran) Remember these things. First, the bad guys use green tracers. Second, we use red tracers. Third "friendly fire" isn't. Fourth, ALL bullets have the right-of-way.
Not sure if the chemistry is still the same from decades ago. Back then some guys thought it smart to load a whole magazine with tracers. Which apparently proceeded to dirty up the action to the point the gun would jam. I've had tracers fired in my direction. Once was from a plane with miniguns. But though it was fired in my direction, the target was not close. The sound of the bullets cracking in very rapid succession was interesting. More like crackling. But from the side, the sound of the minigun was more of a groan. A loud groan The other time on a helicopter, someone fired full auto with some tracers at us. What was good, was that the shooter had never shot moving targets. ie birds or clay pigeons. So, he aimed at our current position, NOT where we would be when the bullets arrived. From the helicopter, his tracer stream seemed to curve back away from us. Where we had been a few second prior.
The scariest part of this video wasn't thinking about bullets flying at me, but watching this dude cut firewood.

The larger rounds look nothing like that 22. Idk what they use, but it looks way different than the 308 tracers I used.
