The 42 project: '' A national treasure digitised'' (2/3) | Hypsos Experience & Technology

Working for the Ecole 42's Campus opening in Abu Dhabi consisted in crafting two innovative products, and the most representative was the ''interactive tree''. Usually, for an opening of this size, the habits are to plant a tree that would grow and represent growth across time, but this time we did it differently.
Indeed, the concept was to ''plant'' a virtual smart tree and the choice was not random at all, as the decision was to plant a Ghaf tree, which is the national tree of UAE. The idea is that it would grow with time, the tree will never look the same twice as it is in constant evolution simultaneously with the school's activity and students are the source of this growth. Every person connected; every activity recorded on the 42 servers would be visible live and contribute to the tree's evolution.
To add a realistic side to the project, live characteristics from the weather and situation in UAE are taken into account and the tree responds to it by adapting its colors and live animations, to reproduce inside the facility, what is happening outside of it.
