Hi Jeff, I’m a Contact Center Solution Architect (Business not Technical). Is there free online training (with or without a certificate) available? I need to be able to articulate this information to clients across verticals (healthcare, travel and entertainment, financial and banking etc) and know what options are available definitely technology providers (the Tech SAs that make this stuff work). Any advice/suggestions for me? 🙏😊
I discovered generative AI last year, and today I simply can't live without it! The content creation for my social media-UA-cam, LinkedIn, blogs, Instagram-thanks for it! Thank you for your contribution to the video, it was enriching.
wow this gentleman did an amzing job, can tell he is well educated. Clear concise explanations. Not boring in mannerisms. First time seeing him would love to see more.
I never thought I would dive this deep into AI. I am so proud of myself and all those who are taking this serious. So many people tell me learning all these technologies are a waste of time and I can't understand how some people don't think AI is apart of us for good and has been for awhile now. This video was great
WOW ! What a simplistic and powerful explanation. Best learning experience after long time. The topics shared here I will never forget, it's that kind of delivery
When I broke the thumb on my right hand, I learned to write with my left. I thought then that left-handed people would find it easier to learn a reflected alphabet and write on a transparent surface from right to left. A right-handed reader would flip the page over and read from right to left. I'm pleased to see my idea in action!
Jeff Crume always breaks it down! Excellent analogy between music and LLMs. They don’t just regurgitate information just as new music is not simply regurgitated notes.
Actually a lot of it is :) and lately it's been just beats and monotony. Compare Taylor Swift to Mark Knopfler for example and you'll see that we are regressing on that front
I love these videos - one question I have always had (off-topic) is how these videos are shot. Is he writing in a reverse direction from his point of view? Is he writing Right to Left? It's almost like he is writing every letter in reverse direction, and we are seeing it right. Has anyone else wondered the same?
I thought about that too! I think they are shooting them from the other side of a clear board and then simply mirror imaging the resulting video. This would be the case if the speaker is right-handed.
A useful and welcome contribution - always great to try and agree the language of the world of AI hype - especially if we're trying to deliver value in Enterprises through 'AI'. Think this webinar might miss a key part- all those really useful ML models that aren't Deep Learning (categorization, time series forecasting, anomaly detection etc - that work on governed 'structured data'.
I took all those classes in the 80's. Prolog, probability, neural network, structure of computer and computation. I mostly programmed in Pascal on IBM VM/CMS
AI models can be used to find new discoveries, just as humans use relations and analogies between different physical entities, AI can be used to train on the same principles. If we give physical sensory input channels like sight sound touch etc, AI will grow faster

Wonderful expIaination ....i wrote programs in LIPS, Fortran and Pascal ...i did my diploma in 1998 ...I wrote the entire data structure in Pascal....then I learned c and cpp in 2000 era.

Thanks for explaining all this clearly and at a high level. Really useful. I don't like using copilot as a programmer (I was a student in the 80s too). It's like autocomplete on steroids - it's clear that it's "just" a pattern recognition machine and understands nothing. Really interesting also that we don't always understand where the answers come from. I suppose ultimately we (human brains) are just very sophisticated pattern recognition machines...
Great presentation.. The problem with the anology of music in comparing it to your opinion of GenAI, is that the music industry is controlled by producers and commercial interests.. That is a dangerous trajectory for information. Especially, when it is published on platforms that generate revenue from advertisements.
Very nice and informative video. I remember back in the 90's when I was recording sounds on my pc and messing around with a hex editor on it. I realized I could generate a sound record from any place on earth or generate a voice just by writing that hex code inside. Btw the screeching from the marker in that video cracks me up
"Fantastic breakdown of AI concepts! SmythOS is making multi-agent AI collaboration easier and more effective. Excited to see how generative AI will augment human creativity! #AITech"
Amazing explanation of FM and LLM "like auto-complete". I saw a video from the CTO of openai Mira Murati that was saying something similar like predicting the next word, and made me think, how is that prediction working?
Right, I didn’t mean to say they didn’t exist before then. I was referring to when they become popular. IBM has been working on foundation models for at least as long as that as well
Good video, but a small mistake: I learned neural network in the 90's. I'm no AI expert. I guess because neural network was not very efficient before GPU was used for DL computing, so it was not popular before 2010's.
Excellent! In the late '80s & early '90s I was involved with NN & HMM with the hope they would be useful for command & control applications. I also applied some resources on QIS. Again, this was not ready for practical use. Fortunately, I had enough successful projects based on more mature to maintain a quality staff & keep my job.
I did neural networking in the mid to late 80s. What he might not have mentioned that is most significant enabling technology is the speed and memory of current systems.
