The laser is designed so you can easily remove the little shield around the laser so you can see the spot for alignment. It's not a quick disconnect. It's held on with screws. I took mine off and never put it back. It is supposed to be a safety feature (probably required by some law or other) but the designers realized it is a real pain so they made it removable. The spacing tool is designed to work with the shield off as well as on.
ATEZR has went to the orange shield for the 35w and they may be changing to it for the 20W. I have talked to a lot of people who say they have taken the shield off and just use safety glasses. Thanks for the comment, it will help others.
Nice review. This is probably melting the thin steel due to its poor heat conduction rather than ablating it. With a pulsed laser the peak power is in the kW range and the metal is literally evaporated.
Thanks for that information.
Getting into the Laser business as a side hustle. Just found your page and thanks for the review . Are you a fellow Santa 🎅
lol, no sir. Although I have fat and semi jolly. My schedule wouldn't support it. Although I do have many friends here in SC that are.
To cut through metal with a20 you should feed O2 instead of air. It works.
Thanks for the tip.
Which laser would you recommend, the 130w atomstack X20 pro or the 10w Xtool D1 pro?
Check out my answer to your question on the xTool video.
so far out of all the machines you have which one do you like the best?
I would say the ATEZR P20. If you are talking more budget I'd Say Longer Ray5 10W

A20 or S20PRO what the difference?
The Atomstack A20 Pro, X20 Pro, and S20 Pro are identical, differing only in the color of the frame.
My dad's a jeweler and owns his own store. I am also a jeweler, and recently have started working for him. (In hopes I can learn enough before he retires to keep the business running, haha 😂) Well I convinced him a laser engraver is perfect for simple engravings, as well as custom projects. However..... We haven't figured out how to engrave and carve into metal! 🙄 Please help 🥺!
Depending what you are trying to do you may want to look at Fiber/IR lasers. I have a review for the Atomstack M4. Check it out.
Yeah that's kind of the problem... 🙄.. my dad's given up on the machine and wants to sell it underpriced to put the money towards a fiber engraver but I know this one is capable of it I just don't know how...
nah not a killer there are other machines out there that seem to be better than both the xtool and adomstack....
Thanks for your input. Have you seen any of my other reviews? There is one laser I find better than most.
Which ones are better? I'm looking for a replacement of my Jinsoku lc40
Can you help us we are planning to pick for electrical labels mostly Anodize material need two thing which machine and to cut label to sizes and make holes for mounting / revoting ???
I have not tried to engrave Anodizes aluminum with this laser. I think that would be better suits for a fiber of a CO2 laser.
