One thing I noticed when you were cutting the 3/4" pine, the focal point of the laser beam looked to be just above the board. Also when you engraved on the ss the burn marks were a lot straighter with A20 than with the other machine which tells me the A20 is a more stable machine. Just a tip...before you do a circle or squareness test, you need to calibrate the steppers in the x and y axis. If you are telling the head to travel 230mm in the x axis and it is traveling 231.6mm you are never going to get a true square or circle. LightBurn makes it easy to adjust the stepper motors to get the exact steps per millimeter. It's the first thing I check on any type of cnc machine. Good video.
I have this unit on order. I got it to primarily make gaskets and clean light surface rust for my Small Engine Class. I have been using a Glowforge Pro that I share with the wood shop and science teachers. I feel pretty confident that this unit will cut gaskets just fine based on everything I've researched about it. If I remember I'll let you know. No promises though. 😂
@jeffmanges874 I just finished setting the X20 Pro up and cut a gasket out with it. I used 100% power and 5mm/sec speed. Might need to slow it down a touch more but it worked. This was the 1/32" Fel-Pro material.
I have a question for you - I have the atomstack 20Pro - I also have the big black box air assist. For the life of me I cant figure out how to hook it up to the laser. Would you be able to help me Thanking you in advance for any help you can give me. TY
A daft question if I may... I see safety goggles in red, green and amber tint. What is the difference between these? (haven't taken delivery of my laser machine yet)
I love the info you included on this X20, just a note to you mine did not have the tightness of the laser slide, in fact mine may seem a little loose, as I was thinking for duplicating items, if you adjust mine in between items you could be off on the others, that is how loose I feel mine is. I think I would rather have your tight mount.. may be something I look into shimming to tighten it up.
@Platttraining 0 seconds ago Good video. I am looking at an x20 or x30 Atomstack for classroom projects. I primarily need to cut and engrave 3mm and the 5mm HomeDepot Purebond 3 ply (hardwood veneer with poplar core) plywood. Of course engraving. Would both work and it is just about speed?
Hi, thank you very much for your time in reviewing this wonderful Laser Cutter, my wife use Coreldraw 2019 but I do not find the software to do the Laser Cutting, can you give some advice please, witout needing for a new programin software please
I haven't used Coreldraw. There is a software called LaserGRBL that is free that you could use. I use a software called Lightburn. It's pretty easy to use and it's affordable plus there is a lot of information about it on the Internet.
What a great video so far. I'll watch the rest when i get home. Thanks. I have been wanting one of these for a while now.
I think I got something about somebody wanting me to test one of these. Good to see how it does.
Atomstack now has a 70W (optical output) diode laser.
Looks like a nice job David.
Thank you Randy!

Can it cut gaskets out of FelPro gasket materials?

@@AmericasTeamAdventure Cool thank you, Are you thinking of posting a video to your channel?
A link to your TED talk??

Hi great video. I thought I heard you say that it has lightburn available for install on the USB. Is that correct.

How different is the frame and motion from the a5 if one was considering upgrading the laser module?
This x20 frame is all 20x40 extrusion where the A5 has some 20x20 pieces. The laser 20w module is a good bit larger and heavier.
@@Neo7CNC Thank you! Maybe I’ll email the company and see if they can provide the parts.

Looks like Atezr just dropped a new 35 watt unit. Maybe that's why the P20 is on backorder. I wonder who will be next with a 35 or 40 watt unit
I just saw that too. Looks like a beast!
