Suikoden II Rebalanced (hard mod) - Luca

Some people been getting frustrated with Luca in the mod, so thought i'd demonstrate that he's beatable, although extremely tough and requires you to use everything the game mechanics have to offer, and then also some good rng. You can reduce the difficulty by using savestates or reducing his stats using the editor (link in the mod thread in one of the first posts).
Normally, in this fight, i liked using Gantetsu for Water+Chimera+Alert, and Hix+Tengaar or Valeria+AnyHealer, but i used someone else's save for this fight and Valeria/Gantetsu weren't available in it, so i had to try something a bit different.
Potential improvements:
- for Hero, Gale could be used instead of Fire Sealing, but then he'd also have to have Fire Emblem and more speed-based gear (to ensure he gets to act before Luca), so i'm not sure which is better
- could probably give up on Chimera and have Rina do some extra damage with Lightning lvl 4 and 2, a bit risky with Alert though, so that could be swapped for Wizard
- shouldn't have cleared Panic on Feather, especially when he had Boost, hardly anything bad could happen, meanwhile he would have had a good chance at casting a free Mother Earth lvl 3 or 4
- should have brought some Revenge Earth scrolls to use after Feather's magic runs out.
- could put Waking instead of Warrior on Bob, seeing how he had an extra turn in his human form at the end
- Friendship is more powerful than Kindness, so i should have used Friendship on Rina and Kindness on Bob, not the other way around
- Water on Eilie was redundant, so she should've had Friendship (or Kindness) instead, that would probably result in more damage compared to having it on Bob
- Using yet two more Lighting casters would've probably been better than using Shin and Genshu, or maybe a Lighting caster and Camus to get rid of the soldiers quicker - Ігри

This fight was NUTS. I use badeaux, feather, oulan, tengaar, and, riou.
Badeaux mainly for making feather berserk and some timely heals. Oulan for spamming angry dragon, feather doing feather things, and riou + tengaar to heal and make sure feather still have revenge earth active. Also poison rune on tengaar weapon so she can poison luca
Took me several tries, but it is very fun at the end. Thanks for the mod!
I really hope the official remaster has hard, insane and NG+ modes.

hello im playing suikoden 2 hard mode.. just arrived in south window i cant kill anybody. any tips?
If you use the rebalanced mod, psychedelist the modder said that he makes the monster in south window harder with purpose. We will roam the area for quite some time, so he wants to make sure the monster stay relevant
For me, i don't bother fighting them as they are very hard an give very little exp. So, i ran away from all of them, and progress the story by going to cave of the wind. The difficulty is more manageable

Is it a hard mod or is it a balance mod? I imagine it makes the game HARD, but would be interested in a mod that makes the game harder (and "balanced") instead of very challenging.
No it's incredibly hard, there is a lot of thoughts and it's an incredible mod, but it's too hard, getting to Luca was hard, I quitted when I tried over 10 times.
@@Zaryos Hm. Yeah, I see it's the hard mod by psychedelist. I know this mod. Yeah, it's a true hard mod. Extremely, extremely difficult but a well-crafted mod. I guess I thought rebalanced was something else.
The S2 mod is ridiculous. WAY TOO HARD. The S1 mod is reasonably done… a bit of grinding between dungeons, but enjoyable challenge.
@@Caba-Rojo yeah you need to approach the S2 hardmod as a tactician. WAY TOO HARD is a good way to put it. Also quite lengthy. Psychedelist put a lot of care into developing that mod and making it a challenge.
I really do like the S1 mod, but not sure if we're talking about the same one. Makes the cake beefier.
