A little feedback, I’d say maybe put the pattern for each round on the top of the screen or in one of the corners so that people watching can have both the auditory instruction and the visual instruction. Just helps to accommodate people who learn easier with seeing something written down. Overall great pattern tho, super easy ❤
Thank you! I was able to make my mom such a fun and unique gift because of your WONDERFUL tutorial. It was so low stress and clear to understand, even to an adventurous newbie. I hope you continue making them, it was SO helpful. To anyone interested, I made some arms for mine to hold a leaf umbrella (made of felt and floral wire). Arms - x2 in Body Color 4sc in Magic Circle (4) Inc around (8) (Sc, inc) x 4 (12) Sc around (12) (3sc, inc) x 3 (15) Sc around (15) (3sc, invisible dec) x 3 (12) FO, stuff lightly, pinch flat-ish like the ears, sew to sides as desired I put the top of my version’s arms level with the bottom of the eyes, 3 stitches back.
THANK YOU!!! This is perfect timing. My daughter was just telling me recently how Totoro is her most precious memory of childhood so I’m going to make this immediately and surprise her. Excellent video and teaching style. 👏👏
I’ve been really wanting to make a big totoro plushie but couldn’t really find a pattern that I liked. Super convenient timing as I bought the yarns for totoro today 😼 Thanks for the pattern
My "best friend's" (girl I have a huge crush on) birthday is in a few weeks. And I'm a pretty slow crocheter so following a pattern this simple and clear is life saving ! Thank you

Thank you for this easy but rewarding project! It's my first amigurumi from scratch (I got a wooble kit for Christmas) and it's been straight forward and simple. I love it!
Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this great tutorial. It's very pleasing to crochet together with you. Your tutotial is easy to follow, even if I just crocheted one piece in my life before. I just love how totoro came out and can't wait to do another one, bigger in size 😍 Wish you the best

thank you so much for an easy and super helpful tutorial!! this is my 2nd amigurumi and my first was kinda horrible because the tutorial was awful. it's so incredibly helpful that you put the written pattern, and explained how you did things. this was nice and easy and not stressful at all, which i greatly appreciate lol. ty!!
I just finished this pattern and it is SO cute. I am a beginner and your instructions were thorough and easy to follow. Thank you so much!! I am excited to make more projects from your channel - keep up the great work.
i couldn't find any pattern that was at my liking and then i found your video thank you for posting it and it is very beginner friendly so thanks for that too
Love this so much! I started crocheting just under a month ago, and your patterns are so beginner friendly, and lovely! Thank you for your time and for sharing! I'm looking forward to all your future patterns whenever that may be!
Working in the round. Joining each round. Using a single crochet stitch. I’m actually only doing the ears. For a hat. I’m glad you zoomed in since you didn’t mention that you’re joining, every round
The way I figured out how to make it easy for me to get the increases right is to start counting on the first stitch of the round as 1, then 2, 3, 4, etc. Then when I'm on the last stitch for that count, say the 3rd stitch, I start the count over in THE SAME STITCH, in this case "3". So I'll be doing the count: 123, (same stitch) 123, (same stitch) 123. So if you started out with a count of 6 stitches in the 1st row, the 2nd row will have 6 pairs of stitches (12 stitches), the 3rd row will have 12 groups of 3 stitches, with 2 stitches in ONE of the doubled up stitches in the previous row, depending on whether you turned your piece or not (in this example, 18 stitches in this 3rd row). Regardless, you should be finishing your round with a stitch in the same stitch as the starting one, creating the last double stitch (increase). There should be no corners or strange shapes formed by this technique, just a round circle. And if you want to form a flat circle, you make these increases depending on the number of the Row you're on. Row 3 should have increases every 3 stitches, Row 4 every 4 stitches, Row 5 every 5 sts, etc. I hope this helps someone who's struggling with increasing to form a flat circle. ❤
Thank you so much for this pattern. My daughter is having a baby and doing the babies room in Totoro. Any chance you have a pattern for a baby blanket and a Mobil to hang above the baby bed?
really nice project and tutorial, thank you! I have a question btw, how much chunky grey yarn you used? I bought 200 grams (7.05 ounces) and I don't know if it's enugh...
I love this! I made it and it's so cute! Can we have a pattern for some arms too! He looks a bit incomplete or even a variant where he's holding a leaf :D Also love the rest of your patterns, would love a No Face or Calcifer or anything else from ghibli and sanrio!
You are so beautiful 😻 ❤❤ and THANK YOU do not stop with your cool videos I like your vibe so much and your eyes and your hoodie I just like you, it’s sounds weird but I’m not a crazy person but yeah
Can you tell me what is the length of thw yarn used in the project? It will be really helpful. And i LOVED your design, waiting for more ghibli charecter amigurumis!!
I ❤your UA-cam name, super clever. Can you do a Simba crochet 🧶? I’m so happy I found your channel, I’ve crocheted a few things in my time but never done a urigumi and obvi I was today years when I found out what that word meant.
(talking about the beginning) isnt a single crochet the same as an increase but to do an increase you single crochet twice? So then for the single crochet increase bit do you just mean do three single crochets??
It's hard to express commas in videos! Check out the written pattern. I mean single crochet THEN increase. So I say single crochet, increase! It would be over two stitches!
The stitches look a little different. Take a good look at what your single crochet looks like and then find where you know you have done an increase (usually the last stitch of your increase round). Once you are familiar with your stitches it's easier to identify them

Hahah thanks so much! I've pretty much only done amigurumi. I get that serotonin from finishing projects that wearables could never give me 🤣
Great tutorial! Thank you!
Hi There, so if I want to make a bigger Totoro, do i just double or triple the pattern?
The easiest way is to use bigger yarn!!
Love the pattern! Just a quick question, where did you get the eyes? I've been looking around and can't find them
Amazon! I can't seem to find ones I like in brick and mortar stores around me
Is the instructions the same when making it with the bulky yarn? size 5 or 6?
if i was to make the big one like you have in the thumbnail what size eyes should i use ?
I think I used 12mm eyes. It really depends on the yarn you're using though!!
I want to make hands too. How can I make those? Any pattern for hands please
can you please also make the chuncky version as a tutorial
@@bengsoo1249 it's the same just with chunky yarn!!! 😊
Is that the pattern too for the big totoro using chunky yarn?
Yep!
What’s the size/ ply of your acrylic yarn?
If I'm making a big version with sweet snuggles lite, do you have instructions for how to crochet the eyes? Sorry I'm a complete beginner! Thanks
I make a magic circle of 8 and tie off! Then sew in the same way as the belly
@@FalseBubbles Tysm!
Thank you ❤
What does Mc8 with grey colour mean?? I'm confused
Anyone that done this, can you tell me how long it took you? 😊
thank you
(talking about the beginning) isnt a single crochet the same as an increase but to do an increase you single crochet twice? So then for the single crochet increase bit do you just mean do three single crochets??
It's hard to express commas in videos! Check out the written pattern. I mean single crochet THEN increase. So I say single crochet, increase! It would be over two stitches!

What size for the eyes? Is it 6mm?
you asked do people crochet with left hands my daughter does she's a lefty
What size is it when your finished??
hello! how do you make the eyeballs on the bigger/chunkier ones? thank you!!
I think I just did a magic circle of 8! And then put in a safety eye!
@@FalseBubbles you are a life saver!!!!! thank you so much

The stitches look a little different. Take a good look at what your single crochet looks like and then find where you know you have done an increase (usually the last stitch of your increase round). Once you are familiar with your stitches it's easier to identify them

Can someone tell me what single crochet 2 and then increase means
Sc in one stitch then sc in the next stitch then increase in the next stitch
can you share with arms? thank you
How many skeins of wool are needed for totoro 😢
How many single crochet in the magic ring for the eyes?
I think I did 8!
Whats the size of the eyes? Was it 9mm?
Im using plush yarn btw so mine is very big
Depends on the yarn. Your plush yarn could be bigger. I like to get a set of different sizes and try them all out. I think I used 15mm
Is this the same pattern if I use the chunky yarn?
Yep! I just used a magic circle for the eyes on the chunky version!!
does it matter what yarn needle size you use?
For sewing in? Not at all! Just as long as the yarn fits!
how long the height of this plushie
thank. you
I can't wait to make this but I have like 329045873495734895 other things I wanna make!!!!!!! LOL.
