And when assembling, do not forget to correctly position the locks of the rings so that they do not jump out into the "Windows". Even if something doesn't work out, you can always buy a simple Chinese engine of two series - 170 or 172 (250 cubic centimeters)- these are simple and fairly reliable engines - the only disadvantage is that you will have to digest the frame, since these engines are high..

If you like it buy it. I've down sized because of my age. But the 2015 harley street 750 fits me. I've always rode Hondas or Yamaha when younger. When I had kids I found a garage bike 73 Electra Glide. It was perfect for me. Wide tires always ran but then the family expanded I had to sell it. Now I'm having fun working on this street. I get alot of looks you make any bike into what you want. I'm layed backed old dude who can still ride so I like the relaxed style I can add to it
Yea those little streets are pretty nice bikes from what I hear! I think Harley could have kept making them because they are great for a smaller bike. I hope you get your miss fire problem figured out. Sorry I can't help you with it, neither my dad or I have ever worked on fuel injection is all.
The fourth comment (I'll just duplicate it here. I hope I didn't write it crookedly). Pay attention to absolutely everything. The parallelism of the wheels (if it is not a fierce chopper. Or some motorcycles already from the factory with non-parallel wheels - such as BMW type "Goose"), the integrity of the frame- possible curved welds (where it will be seen that the welding is curved by a human hand). You need to pay attention to the condition of the front suspension (so that the feathers are even. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on restoring a motorcycle). The presence of a "Frame number". "Shake" the motorcycle behind the steering wheel with your hands (to find out the condition of the wheel bearings and the condition of the rear pendulum). And only then proceed to inspect the engine. The fact that you checked for the sound of "Tightness of the spokes" is not in the first place.
Thanks, I will save this information for the next time I go to look at a bike. I think in this case I was lucky for someone who has not made many deals like this, because the bike is not in terrible condition. But I think it's obvious that you have much more experience in this haha.

Well it might be easy to get more motorcycles especially since this one could possibly be parts for that one that you already have but I would highly recommend that you're not start trying to buy more bikes finish your dad's bike work on your bikes
Cool little bike. The missing oil tank is odd. He says he was riding it 2 years ago, so it must have had the oil tank on it. Maybe reach out to him and ask if he has the oil tank laying around. Cause if he was telling the truth, he should know what happened to the tank. Will the tank from the parts bike work? It's a weird thing trying to properly look over a bike over with the owner standing there. Easy to miss stuff in the moment. Then you get it home and the real inspection begins.
Yea so true! I guess to some degree you have to not be afraid of possibly offending someone about what their stuff is actually if you want to make an honest or good deal. And apparently some people mix the fuel and remove the oil tank, so I am assuming that was the case here. But I still asked him about it anyway.
OMG Angel, you're going to love that bike, warts, JB weld fixes and all. My first real bike when I was 16 was a DT175. I still miss that bike to this very day. The best & most bulletproof bikes Yamaha has ever made. Can't wait to see you get it running!!. All the best bikes have knobbly tyres !!!😊.

Red they got rid of the oil injection and mix the fuel. Common move. I have done it too because they are known to fail or lean out to much or foul plugs on low end. Second that was a great price because in minnesota they go for $1500us. So good deal. I want a early 70s dt 250 enduro bad and have for years but way to expensive here to justify it. I grew up on Yamaha dirt bikes and there like a old friend to me. I love my shovel for the road but it's really not good off road lol😂

It's always funny when people who have clearly always known everything there is to know about anything leave condescending comments. You must have been born an absolute genius eh!
I guess I should have been a little more detailed in my comment. I was referring to the idiot who left the bike lying on the side of the road. Sorry for the misunderstanding ❤️
Please consider just having two of them, restore one and make it look nice and just keep the other one original but running so it doesn’t matter if you crash it or something. They’re both usable and saveable. They’re getting really hard to get and it would be a shame to have one used for parts in my opinion. Here the one you just bought would probably be around $1,500 aud. This is just my opinion of course and you can do what you want 😊
Haha thanks I appreciate the opinion. I don't really know a whole lot about these bikes, I was given the first one so that is what started this whole thing lol. It would be cool to get them both running! But I just will have to do whatever my budget can afford at this point. But I like the idea of having one to mess around with and another that is all nice and restored.
Do you follow my instagram? I thought you commented on something there once but I couldn't remember what. I was going to follow you back but couldn’t find your profile lol. I might follow you already 🤔
@@RedRiderCanadaBCNot sure why my comment didn’t post but I’ll try again. That’s crazy you were given the first one! 😮 The great thing about old two strokes like that, regardless of make is that they don’t need a lot to get running again. The one that’s complete I guarantee you if you clean the carby out and the fuel tank and put fresh fuel in and clean the spark plug, give it a few kicks and it should start. They are tough as nails! Obviously just make sure it’s got spark first and check for any air leaks from the rubber boots around the carby. They don’t need much which is why I love the old Yamahas. I saw another comment that said mix it at 50:1, please don’t do that! I’m not sure what this model runs but normally it’s about 32:1 or 40:1. It’s common to take the oil injection tank off, I did the same with my little ds 80 cause I don’t trust them haha It’s entirely up to you what you do with the bikes, I’ll support your decision either way. I completely understand about budget trust me, that’s why a lot of mine have sat for so long 😢 Regarding Instagram yeah I did comment, I would love a follow back!
Oh that's good to know! I was wondering about the oil tank and then it made me suspicious about how recently he had been riding it 🤔
@@RedRiderCanadaBC mix the fuel 50 to 1 and find a mercury outboard dealer and get the mercury hi perf 2 stroke oil not pwc but for outboards. Go have fun.
To buy off course.if you can pull it out of a ditch you must buy
Yessss
I had one of those back in the 80's it was a fun bike to run around on. For what you paid, you could part it out and come out ahead. I saw one similar sell in the states for $1750 US
Oh really!? Similar condition? I know they can be worth a bit when they are all fixed up.
@@RedRiderCanadaBC it was a ct175 but very similar. It had all the parts. Either way, I don't think you got hurt at $440(?)
It looks Kool classic motorcycle I have a project bike 77 Yamaha cafe racer 400 v twin duel carburetors euro style
These old Japanese bikes are perfect for turning into cafe racers
Their so wound tightly kinda wirey or a Husqvarna 400 from the late 70s that thing was a wild beast
It's really entertaining watching people who have no idea what they are doing
It's always funny when people who have clearly always known everything there is to know about anything leave condescending comments. You must have been born an absolute genius eh!
@@RedRiderCanadaBC Don't waste your nerves. You can't please everyone.
Angel definitely 💯 knows what she is doing. She gets excited when she sees a old motorcycle
😎Dave H
I guess I should have been a little more detailed in my comment. I was referring to the idiot who left the bike lying on the side of the road. Sorry for the misunderstanding ❤️
@@jasonweaver1532 Thanks for clarifying! Sorry about that. ✌
Hopefully you'll be able to salvage parts from both bikes in order to complete one good running and safe machine.
I think I will!!
@@RedRiderCanadaBC With you knowledge and abilities I'm confident you will. Wishing you all the best with this build ! 🇨🇦
Buy it
the one you just bought is a 74 the one you already had is a 77. almost all the parts are interchangable. great bikes I have owned many of them
Then send her a manual!
Cool!!
Congratulations time for some fun 👍🤘
Thanks 😁
YES.
Buy!
Good luck with your project
Thanks!
Why not why shouldn't you who told you you couldn't😂😊❤
😆
The great thing about old two strokes like that, regardless of make is that they don’t need a lot to get running again.
It’s common to take the oil injection tank off, I did the same with my little ds 80 cause I don’t trust them haha
It’s entirely up to you what you do with the bikes, I’ll support your decision either way. I completely understand about budget trust me, that’s why a lot of mine have sat for so long 😢
Regarding Instagram yeah I did comment, I would love a follow back! I commented using my personal account which is stelldyer
I haven’t posted anything yet but I will be starting soon as I just got a motorcycle mechanic apprenticeship!! And want to share my journey 😁
Oughta be fun. Enjoy!

Even your keg beer is strong! I had a shot of keg beer and hair started growing on my short tounge. I puked in the morning. Not from the beer. Gag reflex from shaving my tounge…. Thunderbay!
