- In this one we go into an in depth explanation of the brand new Jones Solution Splitboard.
Its been redesigned this season, and there's lots of new tech to go over- including brand new 3D contouring, and lockable clips!
The Solution has been one of the best selling, and most awarded splitboards on the market for over ten years. The new version of the Solution has been in development by Jeremy Jones for the last three years, and its new shape and design represent the pinnacle of technology and innovation in the splitboard industry.
Follow along as I go over the various technologies, and explain how these features translate into rideability and feel when on the snow.
This video originally started as a quick preview of the board, but as I got more and more into explaining the tech- it quickly evolved into a full fledged product knowledge seminar.
Hopefully you find it fun and engaging, while also being easy to understand and educational.
Huge shout out to my friend Lou, for helping me film some awesome B Roll. You can catch her at: / donderlab

C'mon down to Comor sports!! Best outro ever made on the internet!
hahaha thanks man!
You got the Women’s solution 146?
Man, best review about this board on the internet! You're the type of 1 in 100 retail person everyone wish they'd get consulted by - 100% passion and 100% knowledge
Lets take a moment to appreciate the length of the Nitro Cannon in the back !
203cm!
I have to agree, best outro for sure 😅😅 and I confirm about the free sticker because we are all big kids.
Thanks man! I felt like it was more fun by just free balling it.
Best review and I’ve been searching for a bit. Cheers
- if snowboarding was was a religion bound by philosophy, principles and ideals (I guess it kind of is)... then Andreas would be it’s Yoda. Great review, sick looking stick!
Snowboardology. Its the one truth in this world. After I started practicing its teachings and ways- everything became clear. Reality comes in to focus, binding the will of the rider to the super consciousness of the over soul. All is one and one is pow. As above, so pillow.
Andreas Schubert love it!!! ‘As above, so pillow’... hahaha!!!
Mr Comor must be really pleased with your gear videos shot inside his store.
Really awesome video man! Nice board!
Always love these vids!
thanks man!
That topsheet is gorgeous!! And that outro.....🔥

hahaha yeah man, it was a little bit like interdimensional cable....
Holy crap that thing is gorgeous
yeah man. Havoc Hendricks is a wicked artist.
Great Informative Video Andreas! Without a doubt you are the best guy out there for board information!! Nothing better than a Andreas/Chris/Dot Video too :) I agree with Tim below, that board is MINT!
Thanks bro! Glad you like the content! Hopefully I'll get out with Chris for some more Dot adventures soon!
@@AndreasSchubertSnow Can't wait!! I have been coming to Whistler for the past 4 years 3 times a year 2 weeks each outing. The wife and I got married in Pembe last year, we just Love Whistler/Pemberton. I work overseas and get to come back to the states every 90 days. So on my Leaves we always come to Whistler. I stumbled across you and Chris a few years ago. You guys are my connection to Snowboarding and Whistler while I'm away. So I truly live vicariously through you both! If this COVID thing ever gets figured out and CAN opens it's borders for USA Tourists I will definitely be stopping in to see you guys. Been waiting to purchase a new board and Bindings. Your video on the Now Bindings sold me as far as bindings go. I will have to discuss the board pick though as I do have some questions for you. When I come in I would like to make a contribution to your and Chris's Channels. I truly appreciate you both as snowboarders bringing detailed information to us out here about products. As well as just showcasing your days in Whistler and BC. In Afghanistan after work there is nothing to do but watch movies on your laptop and sleep. So your channels make life so much better and give me something to look forward too. Thank You to you both!! You guys are the best!!
@@nathangarza8104 Wow, thanks man! I appreciate you too bro. Comments like yours really help me to stay motivated to keep riding and making videos. I couldn't imagine being in the military, or having to go to Afghanistan, or deal with any of that heavy stuff that exists in the world. I am humbled that you watch my videos, and that I can provide you that connection to Whistler. Chris and I are just dirt bags living our simple lives in the Whistler bubble- so to know that I can somehow make a difference in hard times out there in the world means a lot to me. Send me a line next time your coming to town, and I'll let you know when I'm in the shop!
@@AndreasSchubertSnow LOL we are all dirtbags in our own ways bro that is for sure. Living what you call your simple lives are what sets you both apart from other You Tubers. You truly can see the genuine love of your lives and where you live. That's what makes you both so great. Don't ever change bro!! Without a doubt you and your videos do make a huge difference during hard times. I will for sure shoot you a line when I am coming into Town. Hopefully after the 1st of the New Year the Borders will be open for CAN and here. Keep Throw'n out that great Material man!! Thanks for taking the time to reply as well. Truly means allot!!
the Salomon Dancehaul in the background looks sick
Yeah the gold is pretty shwaggy
@@AndreasSchubertSnow other than the color what do you think of the Dancehaul Andreas ? Any chance we get a review ?
@@nicolaspronovost3463 I would say that its Salomon's attempt at creating something like the Lib Tech Orca, but without the hybrid xc2 shape. Its free ride inspired, has extra width so that it can be downsized- uses a classic radial sidecut, and a more traditional cam rock profile.
@@nicolaspronovost3463 theres probably a review coming soon
That top-sheet is dope. Makes me wanna sell my Hovercraft split.
yeah its pretty dank and nasty.
I’m hoping to pick up a jones solution split for this season but they pretty limited stock eh? Thanks for everything you do brother!
Would this or the frontier be a better splitboard to start on? I rented a board over the holidays to try touring for the first time and I really liked it. The Jones frontier splitboard is a little cheaper and has a similar profile and stuff to my normal board. Wondering how it stacks up against the solution
Raaad! You got any more of these in store, or Hovercraft splitboards? Comor website doesn't show any. More coming? TBH I preferred last year's Solution artwork it was beautiful but the new shaping tech and clips def makes this year's pretty alluring too
Nice in-depth look at a beautiful board! Binding recommendation?
Burton Hitch Hiker, or Spark Surge. Or you could go the route of Karakoram-I have a set of Primes- but they're expensive!
Don't forget Plum
I want a jones board!! POW
I want one of each!
Would you recommend it to someone who wants to begin splitboarding?
Splitting on a Lib Tech Split BRD 159 for the past two seasons (and quite happy with it), I was wondering if moving to Jones Solution Split (161), or even Jones Ultra Solution is worth the change?..
Hi Andreas hey i am really unsure about sizing on this.... i am about 86kg with all my gear on band 175cm tall and use 32 boots in size us 10.5 unsure whether to go for a 158w or 162w or a 164 ... i think 161 waist width is too narrow ...Kevin got the 164 didn't he ? Im in new Zealand so alot of varied icey steep wind affected terrain ... would love the 156 orca split but with rocker under the feet in walk mode i don't think it's good for nz conditions and icey traverses .... love the traction tech being on both sides of the solution in ski mode
What will the whole setup cost . Board , binding , skins and shoes?
King Andreas is back
from outer space
Hey man, just wanted to say love your channel!
I was hoping you could help me with a sizing question... I'm ready to pull the trigger on my first splitboard but I'm torn between the Jones solution or the Jones hovercraft split. I really like the idea of 3D base/nose on the solution but then like how nimble the hovercraft sounds...
I'm 5'11, 175lb-180lb ish without gear, wear a vans size 9 boot, and currently riding a 156 niche story. I'm pretty happy with the 156 size but the size guide on the Jones website says I should be on a 161 solution and I'm wondering if 161 would be too big for me? or if the 158 would sacrifice too much float?? or if I should grab the split hovercraft to keep a similar length??
Orrrrr maybe the Bryan iguchi split??
And if you have any binding suggestions I'm all ears as well!
Looking forward to the advice, Thanks a lot:)!
Sounds to me like 158 should be more than enough for float. I recommend Spark bindings or the Burton Hitch Hiker. Both work on Voille pucks
@@AndreasSchubertSnow thanks again!
sizing I'm 92 kg shoes 45 height 183. What do you recommend?
Think you guys will bring in the new Dart split?
Its a possibility. I think our buyer is seeing how his first round of splitboards sell. So far its looking promising.
Do you have any Jones 158cm or 159cm in stock?
Hey guys,
I'm 195cm at 76kg boot size 12, so a tall lightweight with big feet, which is often a problem when torn between weight scale and board width. I've been on a Burton Flight Attendant 162w for 2 years now and like it a lot. I'm not an aggressive rider, nor a freestyler. I like smooth big pow turns and also tree runs. No really steep stuff, though. And love snowboards with some taper and directional shape. I really wanna get into splitboarding this year and am looking for a daily driver, a one-board-to handle it all. I'm currently torn between the Jones Solution and the Burton Hometown Hero. Love the versatility of the channel system but also think that the traction tech will be a great stabalizer. I don't really know how the Solution compares to the Hometown Hero. Wanna have good stability when hiking up and also a handle-it-all-weapon when going down (usually on fresh snow or chunder, and not when the conditions are icy) :) Which length would you recommend? I'll usually be hiking with ski buddies of mine. Any suggestions or help would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot and have a great winter!
You are better off with the Solution, because they offer a wide version. You need a wide because of your foot size. They make a 159 wide, which would work nicely for your height and still be within your weight range. The Hometown Hero, doesn't come in a wide- so you are more likely to get some toe drag...
@@AndreasSchubertSnow thanks a lot for the advice and quick response!!! But the Burton is Liste Witz 26.2 and the Solution 159w/162w with 26.3, so not mich if a difference there... is the Hometown Hero more forgiving? Would you go for a solution or a lib tech brd? Or the Frontier which is said to be less aggressive and fatiguing?
Oh man, so many boards, so many choices...Maybe you can find the time for one more reply and advice. Thanks a bunch!
Can you use normal bindings if you use in resort /piste mode ?
technically you could, but you would have to get a riser/ adapter plate, Its not really recommended- I would stick to a splitboarding binding if at all possible...
@@AndreasSchubertSnow thanks for the technical info😃
Didn’t know you listened to Sam tripoli, joeroegan, George Carlin. Hel yea 👍
Yeah man. I'm pretty big into pod casts and conspiracies. I'm a bit of a nut.
Whens the spc collab happening? Also when is the whats hot for 2021 dropping andreas!?
all in the works
Unfortunately the added taper also results in a narrower width under the back foot, making it now less suitable for big feet.
Other than that I wouldn't ride a splitboard in resorts too much, as it would get used way quicker. Consider the amount of vertical drop in resorts compared to a day touring.
I love you Andreas
The big pink in the back stand tall
lol yeah its 6.66 feet!
so are all the splits sold out yet? theyve been selling like hot cakes in europe thanks to corona
Wish they made them in the USA and not Dubai
My opinion is that Hercules clips have overtaken Karakoram, and if you prefer lightweight climbing when going up the mountain, check out Phantom Snow (www.phantomsnow.com/) for their hard boot tech. Truly revolutionary! Nice video and love the outro!
What else to say...haha
1% that is not few
Make it 6 minutes next time jeeez
