I grew up with this Halloween movie, I was 12 or 13 years old. Almost everyday, I watched this in vhs with my sister. Good memories, most in the opening scene.
Watching this in 2020; listening to actors in this documentary reference the original Halloween "20 years ago" and how "long ago" it was... and realizing that I'm watching clips from 22 years ago... Feeling my 42 years right now, Halloween was released a few months after I was born.
Kevin Williamson wanted Sarah Michelle Gellar in the movie following her huge popularity from I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2. She was offered to play Jodie Lyn's character I believe but turned it down.
One of my favorite Halloween movies ever. I liked that it was set at the private school away from town out of the state where Haddonfield was. I like that it had a modern flair to it. I liked the actors all of them. Jamie Lee was great as usual but you saw her as an adult, fractured from the past, but stronger than ever. The cameo from Janet Leigh was so great. Halloween the original, this movie H2O, and Halloween 4 are my favorite movies in that order
Barnaby Joe Wigglesabit yeah and Halloween III is great without him not with him. Also you are right that 4 is close to the original because it’s basically a lame carbon copy of the first.
Barnaby Joe Wigglesabit well everyone likes Halloween 4 and says it’s so original even though it’s a worse copy of the original. Season of the witch gets hate even though hard work and passion and heart was put in it but h4 didn’t have much of that.
Pope Marinus III, yeah, but with the basis of SCREAM so heavily influenced by HALLOWEEN, it kind of makes sense, not to mention the writer of SCREAM penned it. However, the call-backs are on point “Everyone’s entitled to one good scare” -“I’ve had my share” ...her kid also being 17. I see 1, 2, and H20 as a trilogy. As for the new one, I really enjoyed it and all of the nods to the sequels, but I still like H20 as a sequel better than the 2018 sequel.
Film has always fascinated me. The behind the scenes, special effects, camera work, all of it. When I was a child, I wanted to be an actress, but my parents said no because of how dark/evil Hollywood is. I didn't understand back then. Now, I do. Although my perception has changed about Hollywood, I'm still so intrigued and taken with the makings of movies.
Steve Miner Also Directed Friday the 13th Part 2 and 3 and He Also Directed Lake Placid in 1999. He Directed and Produced a unreleased Godzilla Film in 1983 which was being filmed in 3D.
I remember the hype around this movie. I saw H20 stuff on MTV and E!, from what I recall, and a lot of specials covering the original Halloween. Good times. I enjoy the movie, though it's not without its faults.
29:10 Jamie was smart for asking did he want them to argue while Charlie could still hear them because wasn't that the whole point of sending Charlie ahead to the car? I always think about that when watching the scene and the director just brushes it off. He should've listened to Jamie I think waiting a minute would've made more sense if you look at the scene in the movie
This is: The best Halloween- movie. I could really connect with the caracters, i bought the story, and the performance of the actors 100%. Jamie Lee C, was absolutly amazing in this movie. Her traumatized caracter in this film, is so belivable. She is fantastic, I love her. 🎃
Wtf this isn’t even a top 5 halloween film o can appreciate the performances the grounded nature of the film of some aspects of it like the opening and gate scene but the film is such a bad halloween film, the worst Michael portrayal in the entire franchise along with the worst usage of shadows lighting and music Jesus the score, it didn’t have the elements halloween1,2,2018 had that made them as well as they were and completely under utilizes the secondary characters in the second act of the film it’s an ok film but not good at all
@@yeeyeebubba1885 The original is overrated. The acting was bad, and the movie was unnecessarily deep. And didn’t age well. Halloween 2 is just a sequel that was trying to dethrone Friday the 13th. With the same tacky approach. Halloween 2018 is a joke. It’s erasing all of the sequels, while stealing its ideas, and turning it into homages. Laurie’s trauma is overdone so much, it was like watching a lifetime movie. And the horror is nonexistent. No tension. H20 did everything this movie did, only in a more easy going way, just to entertain people. And pay homage to how Scream reinvented the genre. Just like Scream did with the original movie, that created said genre. And the cast and characters were more substantial than any other Halloween movies. That were either stereotypical or unlikeable.
I love Halloween H20! The only thing that I would have changed about it was I would add a few more scary scenes as well as more on screen kills and I also would have made it a little more suspenseful but other than that Halloween H20 is definitely one of my favorites from the Halloween movies.
@Star There The Horror. She got a good script and a character development you never get in slasher movies. But maybe I’m just overestimating this franchise. Maybe it’s the mediocre script and bad acting fans love so much about it…
This movie would've been better if they stuck to one mask and use the original score and not copy of scream micheal myers dont need to copy in nobody imo
H20 is SO close to being a great movie and finish to the series. I just wish it wasn't so short (80 mins is way too short for the storyline) and didn't jettison parts 4-6. It is dragged down by feeling too much like a WB TV movie.
@@josephprendergast2 What does that have to do with anything? many bad films make money. How will people see how bad a film is until they pay to go see it?

i wish they showed clips of chris durand wearing the mask and unmasked! you know being himself. :) and Halloween H20 1998 Interview of him.
35:06 I'm pretty sure that's the shot that was used in the film!!
H20 was THE truest to the original

Loooove this footage of the argument outside the restaurant and the different line readings they did. So cool!

@Bubba101 I prefer the real, original time line

I'd love to see a movie that told what the hell Michael Myers was doing between '78-'98.
The 29:07 mark. Man on left. Muscle guy. Who is he? Seen him standing around in other shots also. Bodyguard?

Michelle Williams was bae back in the day 😍😍😍😍
Chris Durand As Michael Myers
Jamie Lee Curtis As Laurie Storde Original Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

He was shooting the faculty and h20 at the same time they both came out in 98
thank you!
i like movie a lot
i believe people like to be scared cuase eventually they aint gone have no choice but to accept it
Incredible movie that was JAMIE’S idea but then now she says “oh I just did it for the money”. FUCK YOU!!!!!!

@Brandon Brooks that’s so false the scream score compares to the original doesn’t elevate the darkness or atmosphere well in this film
What does JLC say when they're running lines and the (director?) Is pretending to pull his hair out? "Oh relax, he's only....."?
Hey fox, great name change

*9:02** Rip Janet Leigh*
A little bit dissapointed that they wrote In Memory Of Donald Pleasance way way down
Really ? no interview with Jodi Lyn O'Keefe ?
hey guys do you know the movie profile it looks so much like the scream movie profile
Steve Miner's mom was a terrible mother.
They had good intentions with this film but it has its fair share of issues (mainly continuity wise)
I do like the mask in h20 the knb is ok the cgi mask if horse shit the Winston mask was amazing
I liked the hybrid mask from Halloween 6 they used in the opening shot of H20
Love h20

Mom of the year?
NOPE!
Of course they made a movie for the 40th anniversary
Laurie is a badass
H2O wasn’t scary to me..Michelle Williams (Molly) was annoying all around imo..not a fan of her at all in this movie...
