I agree with what you've done. The only question for me would be about the 9" you had made. Why not have the rear made 2" narrower? Then all the 8" wheels with 4.25" backspace would work- and those are significantly more common.
It’s a duplicolor acrylic enamel (gloss black). I use it on everything and love the way it looks and holds up. They sell it at my local Napa auto parts.
I don't understand why everybody thinks this is such a big feet to put 275.60 under a 68 to 72 Nova. I have run a variety of combinations on my 69 I currently have 15 * 8 1/2 center lines with 4 7/8 backspace the wheel has a nice deep dish to it it fits the car perfectly and looks a million times better than some boring black painted steel wheels. Not to mention I had them delivered in a day I didn't wait a year for some goofy backspace
I have a 496 1969 Nova that runs 10.23 in quarter mile on drag radials with just 28" MT tires and stock suspension with slapper bars. You want 275 in rear for what? Are you drag racing this? Are you doing an LS turbo street racer? Wide tires are for traction and not looks. For a wide rim even with 5.5 spacing you have to relocate at least one shock on drivers side on 1969-72 Nova's or the bolt head will rub the rim.
Only reason for the bagpipe muffler is the car still has the 6 cylinder and powerglide in it. Once the drivetrain is upgraded so will the exhaust. Started with suspension, brakes, and rearend before making power upgrades.
On the rims I know a couple of people who can cut them and set them where you want within the ring. I want store up the holes where the lug studs go through. And my dad surprised me while I was gone off to whatever duty station ice TDY at. Here in head and cut it out a ring and put in a new rim face. Yeah I'm bragging a little bit. You can't tell what it done by time finish it. He's no longer here to do those things. Somebody bills dirt track cars should be able to do something like this I'm only mention it because if you're in a bind next time around and can't wait. They turned out beautiful that look great I know it's been a year or so ago. I have even wider tires on a little bit older car and the rims are built specifically and they do fine going down straight stretch like a quarter-mile but you get on a little bit of a turn here and there, they drag. They look great on your car
Don't put a fat girl in the back, she will cause you issues when going over uneven pavement or hitting pot holes. The outside of the tire will surely rub up in the outer wheelhouse. I have wheels my Uncle and I made that fit exactly like yours do. No problems until you hit a bump hard. With rear passengers its not good on the tires or the car. It makes me flinch when I hear them rub. It is not a set up for normal street or highway driving. It will teach you to slow down and dodge the rough stuff. Also, only petite girls in the back seat. Keep some air pressure in them so they stand tall until you get to the race track. Don't load up the trunk with heavy stuff. Don't fill your fuel tank completely full. These are all small things I have learned from 24 years of driving and racing with tires that barely fit but look AWESOME. Most people think its mini tubbed. It is not. I have the same back spacing on home made ( by me and my uncle at his machine shop) Rally Wheels. 15x8 with a 29/10.5/15 MT ET Drag Slick. I had to trim the lip at the top of the wheel well. Then tack weld the quarter and outer wheel house back together. I had cut away the spot welds up top. Well I hope you have finished the car by now. If you have, you will have already figured out most the pitfalls of running very tight tire clearance. But its worth every scuff and scrape to have "That Look". Build On!
I get a kick outta guys putting all the effort they do into building a "sleeper" because to be honest nothing says fast as fuck as a bare bones Nova runnin' steelies and dish hub caps. Looks cool but get rid of the dents at the very least.

It’s a duplicolor acrylic enamel (gloss black). I use it on everything and love the way it looks and holds up. They sell it at my local Napa auto parts.
What backspace did you end up going with on the front wheels? Also, what tire size did you choose on the front?
Front is a 215/70 on a 15x6 3.75 B.S.
Josh i mistyped the backspacing. It was 3.75" bs on the fronts not 4.75"
Looks great. Are those stock height or lowered rear leafs?
I went with the stock height leafs.
Mine hitting the inner fender with 5.5
Awesome man
Thanks!
You got nice 9" diff and old rust Scottish bagpipe muffler 🤣
Need good killer mufflers 👍
Only reason for the bagpipe muffler is the car still has the 6 cylinder and powerglide in it. Once the drivetrain is upgraded so will the exhaust. Started with suspension, brakes, and rearend before making power upgrades.
I’m gonna guess any hard cornering or people in the back is going to get you rubbing in a few places.
great info! looks bitchin for sure with those hoosiers. i wonder if that backspacing for a 18" would fit also or 17" wheel size.
Jeeeez that’s tight
Get any wheel from a 70-81 Camaro or trans am.
Great vodeo
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
this is for sure a great channel and beautiful videos.... SUBBED and LIKED , a fellow creator.
THANKS!! Glad you enjoy the content. Thanks for the feedback I truly appreciate it!
That's easy, 275/60/15
Wheel vintiques does not make custom off sets any more!
All that work painting them and they slap weights on the outer rim 😣
Did you say you waited a YEAR? F that..

Any idea the back spacing on the 15x7’s you removed?
Just got my first nova 2 weeks ago and it currently has 14’s. I don’t mind how the 15x7’s look so I’m consider them in some jegs wheels but curious on B.S. for them.
