I loved Keith Whitley! Thanks so much for showing us his memorial statue. He was so very talented. I still enjoy his music to this day. He was such a bright star. Never forgotten!

Never heard a cemetery referred to as a "burial ground," but my paternal great grandfather, a German immigrant, referred to a cemetery as the "resting plot." May be something when translated to English became cemetery.

I've heard a cemetery referred to a burial ground. Maybe it's a cultural thing - based on your ethnic heritage, area you grew up in.

Fun fact, the Hanks side of President Lincoln’s family ties directly to Tom Hanks the Actor. So they are distantly related.

That is so uncanny that Lincoln and his cousin were on opposite sides of the war. Beautiful lush land and greenery all around. Beautiful. I love this series!
Most of Mary Todd's family sided with Confederates
Many states that were neutral. It was brother against brother.
I thought there was a lot of irony to that.

The gorge is dare I say gorgeous LOL but that burying ground is perfect! I think my husband would be laughing at me, If I discovered something like that. I'd be clapping and jumping up and down. Cuthbert Million Hanks what a name! It's probably my second favorite thing about old cemeteries besides the headstones is the names

From Greenup Co. I know where Sandy Hook is, I've been to Red River Gorge and Sky Bridge. That is one bridge you don't want to trip on. I know who Keith Whitley was. May he rest in peace. He was good, just didn't live long enough. KY is far from bland. It is a beautiful state with a lot of beauty. WE have the largest cave system in the USA. Many beautiful state parks and lakes. We have a lot to offer. I even know where Grayson is. LOL Thank you for all you do.

That really was interesting. Didn't the term burial grounds begin with the Indians? It seems to me when I was in Connecticut visiting the graves of ancestral Indian burials they were referred to as burial grounds.

I grew up near a town in IL. Lincoln walked across the land I grew up on several times ❤❤❤
