- This video explains how to use Wear Installer 2 to sideload apps to your Pixel Watch following the March 2023 firmware update.

I followed all your steps, though I'm getting "could not connect to watch". I'm able to successfully pair, and it says "currently connected" on the watch, but when I click on the app to extract the APK it fails. Any help would be much appreciated!
Hi, please send me an email at the address in the WI2 app (see 'About' menu item) and I'll help you get it working.
i hope this app lasts long on play store.
I must say that this software is a state of the art.
I am using Galaxy watch 6 and Galaxy 104 e smartphone, running Android 14.
After carefully following his video and the instructions, I was able to pair my watch with the phone. However, here is where my problem lies. I am trying to transfer all install a custom APK file on the watch, but the software is taking extremely long to establish connection with my watch.
However, I also believe that I may be missing out on few steps and the problem may not be firsthand, from the software.
Could anyone kindly assist me in solving this problem? The watch and phone are both paired already.
But on the line of transferring the file which I want to install, it is continuously telling me, establishing connection with your watch.
Enable to connect..crashing...
Please see this page, it will help you: freepoc.org/wear-installer-2-help-page/
Thank you very much. I had to specifically check, that watch and phone are on the same wifi network (watch tends to use 2.4Ghz, while the phone prefers the 5Ghz, so I had to manually sync them). But apart from that, works like a charm.
Thanks for letting me know!
Your network doesn't merge the 2.4 and 5ghz bands into one SSID?
If it's on the same actual network, it shouldn't matter, as the IP address should on on either connection.
Doesn't work or at least not for me I followed all your steps and no matter what i still get the "establishing connection with watch allow debugging? Select OK or always allow" popup used a randomized port and everything.

Samsung phone with Samsung watch wear os4 And the dexcom g6 apk
@@NikoletaČechová Depending on where in the world you live, you might find that Dexcom G6 can be installed directly to your watch from the Play Store (Dexcom made this change a few months ago). If this works in your case, it is the best solution. Otherwise, you can email me at the address in the Wear Installer 2 app and I will try to help you.
Hello Sir, Is there any way to use this with Pixel Watch 3? I am trying to get my Blink Camera app on my Pixel Watch 3? Thank you for response.
It should work on the PW3. But keep in mind that if you use Wear Installer 2 to install a *phone* app onto your watch, that app may not work well due to screen size and other issues.
Did all the steps but I keep on getting stuck at "establishing connection with watch", any fix?
This is nearly always because, after pairing, the new random port needs to be added after the ip address on WI2's home screen. See step 5 in this guide: freepoc.org/wear-installer-2-help-page/
Keeps saying pairing failed try again

I have a problem when trying to turn on wireless debugging. It says "please wait until the wifi connection has been established". What am I doing wrong?
You can wait a few seconds and then try again. If you still see this message, then it means that your watch can't connect to wifi at all. You'll need to trouble-shoot the wifi connection between watch and router. When you are able to connect your watch to wifi successfully, then you can use Wear Installer 2. An alternative method is to use the wifi hotspot on your phone, see here: ua-cam.com/video/OcA7MxhL7lc/v-deo.html
Thanks! Worked for me with the hotspot method. Great video and app :)

I would restart both your phone and your watch and try again, following the steps in the video
Thank you! I just followed your steps on the Pixel Watch 2 and side loaded Google Authenticator! Here are some quirks that didn't happen in your video. Bluetooth ADB Debugging is just called ADB Debugging. My watch after pairing instantaneously disabled wireless debugging, which required me to turn it back on and enter a new random port. Everything else worked as in your video. Again, this is fantastic and I'm freaking happy as heck to have my MFA available from my watch. I wish Google would make a ware version, but other than UX, UI and visual issues it works great.
Thanks for the great feedback, I'm pleased the app has helped you :-)
I'm on Galaxy Watch 4, I put in the correct info but it just says "pairing failed, please try again". I followed the guide on your website also but it didn't help.
Try restarting your watch, re-enabling ADB and wireless debugging. Then try the pairing again.
Fantastic, thanks!
You are welcome :-)
I there a third party app that changes the app layout to a squared one on the circular display? And if not can you possibly make one?
Tried but says pairing failed I'm I doing it wrong many thanks
I wrote in an e-mail earlier today,
It did eventually work, but it took a lot of retrying to get it going. As mentioned in the e-mail, I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung has some stuff hobbled or broken under the hood, but it will *eventually* work (and upon rewatching the video, a lot of the first half of said e-mail is basically invalid).
Thanks for the feedback (I also received your email). The new ADB pairing process that comes with WearOS 4 / OneUI 5 is unfortunately not intuitive. You have to first pair the watch to the phone over ADB wireless debugging using the random pairing code and random pairing port. Then you have to connect the watch using a (different) random port. I've tried to show the steps in the video. I'm pleased you got it working in the end.
Thank you for the explanation and your software! 👍
You are welcome :-)
I am on galaxy watch 5, and each time I use the app, it annoying keeps turning wireless debugging off. I turned off Bluetooth and restarting, and it turns off mid-install.
Hi there. Wear Installer 2 only runs on your Android phone, so it can't turn wireless debugging off on your watch. There must be another explanation, perhaps the watch is having difficulty maintaining a wifi connection with your router.
Thank you for this! Your app and tutorial let me get the new watch faces for my Pixel Watch 1 :)
Great, I'm pleased it helped you :-)
Hi there, I have done as said however, keep getting a message saying 'pairing failed' I have tried multiple times. What do I do? Many thanks
Hi there, here is a help page with advice to get things working: freepoc.org/wear-installer-2-help-page/
I got there in the end. I was following the Watch 4 instructions, and it just wasn't working, I was about to give up and I wondered if it had to do with the OS update I did recently, and then via the comments I found these instructions to follow. 😅
Maybe put a note on the other video letting people know that if they've updated their to Wear OS5, they should come here. 🤔
Yes, good idea. The latest version of WI2 now includes an initial screen which explains the new pairing process and also links to this video.

Hi Malcolm, can I to remove bloatware from my samsung galaxy watch 6 with WI2?
If yes, then how to re-install if needed?
Thanks
Hi there, I'm afraid WI2 won't help you debloat your watch. There are other tools for that, most (if not all) of them require a connection over ADB via a computer.
Hello, thank you for developing this tool. It's helped me immensely to monitor my blood sugars from a CGM without needing to take anything out of my pockets. It may seem small but it's been a major quality of life improvement for me. If you decide to setup a Bitcoin deposit address or Patreon, etc. I wouldn't mind contributing.
Hi Alex, I'm so pleased that WI2 has helped you. Thanks for the great feedback :-)
I'm trying this on the pixel watch 2 but it keep failing the wireless debugging pairing. All the same settings are there but it won't connect. Wonder why?
The main thing to check is that you have put the ip address of the watch correctly in WI2's home screen before starting the pairing process.
Thank you for the video.
I was wondering if you have a solution for the Fossil watch but Dexcom G7.
Last time I looked, Dexcom G7 didn't support WearOS watches at all. Sorry.
I'm getting Pairing failed on my PW1 running WearOS 4.
Normally that happens if you don't enter the ip address of the watch in Wear Installer's home screen before starting the pairing process.
@@Freepocdo you have to put the whole ip address numbers to the end
@@MTARaylz Initially just enter the ip address, without the port, into WI2's home screen. Then select 'Pair with watch' and go through the pairing process as shown in the video. Finally you'll get a new random port shown on the watch after the ip address. Put this port number into WI2's home screen in the box provided. Then you are good to go.

I have one question is there a way to stop that clicking noise every single time the screen locks my phone is on vibrate I turn off all system sounds and it still does that I know it the smap app .. I just want to know is there a way of turning that clicking sound that off
The clicking sound is a system bug that we have reported to Google. It happens if you have any app on your watch which uses accessibility settings. The sound is controlled by the media volume on the watch. I find that if I set the media volume to around 50% then I don't notice it so much.
Thanks for your video. I am able to pair with my GW6 Classic. However, I’m not able to install any apk since it shows “ Establishing connection with watch. Watch may show allow debugging? Select ok or always allow “ I have restarted a couple of times and clicked always allow on this network, but it won’t work 😢
WI2 has been confirmed to work with the new GW6. Please make sure that after pairing you check the ip address and randomised port on Wear Installer 2's home screen. Note that the port for the connection will be different from the port used for pairing.
Not working now after update oneui 5.0 on galaxy watch
It does work on watches with One Ui 5. Make sure you have the latest version of Wear Installer 2 from the Play Store and follow the steps in the video. In particular, make sure you enter the correct ip address for the watch on WI2's initial screen. Thanks.

"One or more split apks failed to install" and the app didnt start
Are you trying to install an app that's intended for phones to your watch? That's not guaranteed to work, depends on several factors. If you are trying to install a watch app, then please let me know which one.
Everything is going well but when I try to install I have a error massage say wear component not found
Samsung Galaxy watch 4
@@ubaidakhursheed6372 Are you selecting an app from the app list carousel? Wear Installer 2 will check whether the phone app has an embedded watch app (some legacy apps do, most modern apps do not). If you select the app again, WI2 will try to install the *phone* app to the watch. This might or might not work, most phone apps are too large for the small watch screen. Otherwise download a valid watch apk and use WI2 to install it from the Custom APK screen.
I used Wear Installer 2 on a Galaxy Watch 4 and it worked great. Just upgraded to a Galaxy7 watch with Wear OS 5. I am able to successfully pair using the port and pairing code and I see a paired device on the watch, but when I choose the APK and get the screen "Establishing connection with watch. Watch may show "allow debugging?" Select ok or always allow" Nothing happens on the watch and the apk does not load. I have tried forgetting the paired device and restarting both devices, but it still does not work for me. Any special steps for this OS or hints to get it working? Thank you!

@@ryanbrown8048 I am investigating. Thanks.

Hi, if you email me at the address in the WI2 app (menu > About) then I'll try to help.
I get my watch to pair and connect, but when I try to load an app it just shows a screen saying it's attempting to connect and if there's a popup I must select yes. This popup never arrives
Although you have successfully paired, you still need to enter the random port that's shown on the watch after the ip address into WI2's home screen in the space provided. If this is done correctly, WI2 should never need to show the 'Establishing connection' message. It might be worth restarting both your phone and your watch and trying the process again.
@@Freepoc Missed the random port instruction 😅 Thanks it's working! 😀
Where can I find the IP of my watch to connect? I tried checking in the Wifi settings on the watch to see what its IP is but it doesn't show. The main appeal of this app is not having to use my computer for it but I guess I'll have to still use it to find the IP on my router control panel I assume? I'm also assuming this is the local IP my router assigns to it right?
Once you have successfully paired your watch over ADB using Wear Installer 2, the ip address of the watch will be shown in the wireless debugging area as shown in the video. Here is a help page with some more advice: freepoc.org/wear-installer-2-help-page/
