The Music With Marky channel is dedicated to giving guitar students the guitar lessons they need to make good music. Each guitar lesson teaches guitar players how to play guitar in the most musical way possible. Shred guitar and guitar tricks are important, but great music is what makes all the guitar practice worth it!

Funny that you bring that up. Back in the day one of my dirty tricks to get a good track was to never let my friends know I was recording. No pressure, just having fun. Rock on.👍👍🤘✌️

I regularly do that for my studio clients, too... And when they say, "Hey, I didn't know you were recording" I say I record everything!

You’re one hell-of-a-teacher, Mark. You have a knack of explaining things to the slow members of the herd, like me.

I honestly couldn't remember if I came up with it or if it was common. Then when I went searching for it I couldn't find anything so I guess it was all mine lol

I like the first part a lot! I too suffer from red light syndrome. I joke that my playing is like quantum physics...it can't be recorded or observed. Soon as I record or someone watches me, my ability goes to trash. I have tried the speed up/slow down thing...and I have discovered that my slop inherent in playing beyond my limit stays with me once I slow down. I like it in theory though and I am sure it works for some.

Thanks for your tipps - I'll try. Actually it's getting worse and worse with the red lighty syndrom... it's really frustrating.....

That's a cool way to get past it, unfortunately not very useful if you're recording a video. I just recorded 80 (yes, 80) takes of a piece I practice everyday and I messed up every single one of them. 😵
    Good info tho, cheers

Oh man, I totally hear that! The number of times I have to repeat a piece that I'm teaching in a lesson on a video here when I know it perfectly well...
