    Thank you! You convinced us to get two wethers in addition to our does, instead of sticking to does only.

    Some Nigerian Dwarf goats can easily jump a 4 foot fence, I was kinda shocked. I had to put privacy lattice on top of the fence to make it taller! It is only one goat that can do it and she quickly jumps back in to be with the other goat lol, they really don't like to be solo. Anyone else have a jumper?

    Does disbutting the goats lessen their desire or ability to headbutt each other? That's one of my favorite things about them! ;-)

    If you fix the male, shouldn't you do the female also so she doesn't go into heat??

    How often do you feed them? And do they typically just use the bathroom in the barn and you clean the shavings or what is the clean up like?

    • @katerichardson6905
      @katerichardson6905  3 роки тому

      They always have access to fresh hay and minerals. If they're pregnant, nursing, or being milked, they also get grain once a day. And yes-- they potty in the barn and we just clear out all the shavings and replace them every week. It's about a two hour task for two people-- no small commitment!

    💁‍♂️ I'd love to get a weather one, but I don't think I will be wanting the milk from it. 😆 I don't see what the point of a weather is other than lawn mowed. 😁👍 What do you suggest about having a female and a weather as a pair? I'm concerned that 2 females would be too many babies since they will have to be pregnant to lactate...Right? 🤷‍♂️

    I’m from CT as well, so you have any breeder recommendations?

  • @nick92028

    So wether is best only because the going in heat and being vocal thing? No other difference?

    • @katerichardson6905
      @katerichardson6905  Рік тому +1

      Yes; if you don't breed them, there's not really a difference other than the doe's behavior while in heat. Wethers are a bit larger on average. I haven't noticed a difference in general disposition.

    @katerichardson6905 Hi, from Louth in Ireland.
    We have two males approx 10 months old. Both have been castrated. I've noticed if I put my hands down to them in a cupped position they are much more at ease. Prior to this they wanted to butt heads... They can be a little bit cheeky and I'd spray them with water sometimes... They also try to nibble on clothes quite a bit. Any more handling tips please... Thank you... ☘

    The Bible says that we are all guilty of breaking the Ten Commandments of God (Romans 3:23). As a result, we all deserve to go to Hell because none is righteous, no not one. (Romans 3:10). But the good news is that you do not have to go to Hell (John 3:16). Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died on the Cross for your sins and if you Repent of your sins and Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior then you will be saved (John 3:16). Jesus is calling on all to repent and you know longer have to live in despair but in love, joy, and peace through Jesus Christ. Amen.
