Wow to be in that crowd again during this performance. It was electric, the crowd were going mad. Been to WestEnd Live many a time, but this was my absolute highlight. Lucie's voice was so clear and strong as well.
Am I the only one who wants a UK Wicked cast album?? Preferably by Helen and Lucie but I'll accept everyone with a British accent (cuz we already have an American one okay).
Everyone’s talking about Lucie Jones but let’s not forget about Helen who’s playing Galinda because she’s brilliant too
and her unique way to portray Glinda. More inspired by Billie Burke than Kristin Chenoweth. 🤯🤯 loved it
Yeah! Well said. She kept up, superbly, with Lucie in the overlapping part.
@@gianmariab2893 right? Such an interesting way to interpret the character
Lucie Jones knows how to rock a crowd anyway, never mind in an Iconic role as well. She’s such a talent!
She has the best smile in the business...even when she's green!
The happiest witch there ever was! So happy for her💚
Coolest elphaba on the history of the WestEnd live 🙌🏻👏🤩
Ever! She hits every note, perfect! 🫶🏻👏🏼
There is no doubt that Lucie Jones is one of the best Elphaba ever.
Erm no she can act the shit out of Elphaba but she CAN NOT sing Elphaba in any way shape or form
@@doyouhearthepeoplesing2 You must be listening to a different audio if you think Lucie cannot sing this role. Sure, she may not be to everyone’s taste (and that’s life), but there’s no denying she can sing the notes. :)
@@doyouhearthepeoplesing2 listen to some clips of her singing as elphie you’ll see why she’s one of the best.
@@mikeride101 no she cant
@@Antisocialbutterfly14 i suffered through her live darling her acting is great but she can not sing the role at all
This Elphaba is amazing. She smiled, my heart melted.
One of the best performances I've ever seen
Defying Gravity gave me chills!
lucie bloody jones!!!!! sensational!!
just saw lucie jones playing elphaba last week and she really is one of the best elphaba ive ever seen. SO GOOD
Headcanon: Oz finally accepts Elphie and this is one of her concerts.
i was there today, my first ever west end live. wicked is my favourite show, lucie and helen are an amazing pair! their energy was felt the minute they walked on stage, they looked genuinely happy to be there. lucies voice was so powerful, she filled trafalgar square. love them!
Just after seeing this show literally a few hours ago and came on to watch UA-cam videos. I really have to say Lucie Jones was Absolutely outstanding And also the performer who played Galinda. Two complete talents. A very enjoyable watch! The vocals where amazing .
I'm obsessed with how you can tell she's just having so much fun with it.
Lucie Jones is incredible
Absolutely brilliant. Lucie has so much energy bout her
If only there as the chance to have Sophie Evans sing alongside Lucie Jones. Sophie’s performance last year as Glinda with Lucie as Elphaba this year would be amazing.
they’re besties too! that would be so so so perfect for them
the dynamic between helen and lucie is just unmatched
Erm there is no connection between them at all nard zero zilch
@@doyouhearthepeoplesing2 we aren’t watching the same video
@@mimikabir3459 yeah we are darling I saw these two live in may and instead of crying with for good like I usually do I was bored ridged
@@doyouhearthepeoplesing2 i also saw them in may and was sobbing so i guess it’s personal preference! they’re both so talented and i’m in utter awe of them.
@@mimikabir3459 Them you clearly either 1) have never seen any other Elphaba or Glinda
2) are a Lucie fan and as such wearing Rose tinted glasses
Lucie Jones is incredible!!!!!
Sobbed my way throughout this. Had the honour of seeing Wicked in April, and this just brought back so many happy memories
Lucie Jones is actually unreal as Elphaba 😍😍
This performance of For Good was stunning ❤
I would give anything to go back to being in the crowd in this moment! It’s a shame you can’t hear it from the video but everyone was singing their lungs out in the crowd and it was honestly incredible and heartwarming moment
Saw Wicked in Gershwin in NYC and it was one of the best experiences of my life!!!! I'm not a giant musical fan, but Eicked is particularly special. For Samhain mny years I dressed as the Wivked Witch eith MAC makeup for show and I can say I feel mire pretty as the WWitch compared to normal complexion. Wish I could sing like this. This is lovely.
this performance is going down in history, i just know it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one spellbound by it
I’m playing Glinda in wicked concert at my house in 2023
I saw these two live at the Apollo in London and it was so good!
They didn’t just give a good performance; they just gave a wicked one!
💚🖤🤍💙🧹🧪🪄👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I know it’s because the tune out the audience but the ‘come on let me hear you part’ made me cackle 😂
I was there yesterday an let me tell you everyone was singing at the top of their lungs at that part, shame you can’t hear it 😅
Lucie is just having a blast 😂😂
I saw her last night at the Apollo Victoria and she's absolutely incredible her voice and her acting I fell in love with her elphaba within five minutes of her being on stage
I just adore Lucie's voice. She was amazing as Elle Wood in Legally Blond. Can't wait to see what she will play next!
I really wanna see her in les Mis :///// I saw her at west end live this year and let’s just say I have a new fav musical :)
I agree shes amazing!!been to see wicked again today shes fantastic n so beautiful x
LUCIE IS UNREAL
Went to go and see Lucie on Saturday and my word she is amazing. I've seen the show a number of times and her take on the role is one to def go and see she is a natural up there and is a credit to such a role.
I honestly can’t ever understand how amazing Helen and Lucie are together and also I love Helen’s voice in any song but Lucies voice blows me away. Every note is on point no matter what which most elohabas find hard to do.
Elphie rock star! I loved it! Hehehe
Lucie and Helen are Amazing. What an Amazing Musical.
this cast was flawless, so lucky got to see it live, left too soon
SCREAMING! Best musical in this entire world! Both were outstanding! 💚🙌🏼
What a performer Lucie is; and Helen was stunning
Lucie was born for this role💚💚
Wow Lucie Jones has come a long way since she first did The X Factor back in 2009 but sadly got knocked out by twins Jedward who was mentored by Louis Walsh. They went on further and sadly she didn't and was knocked out. But saying that it turned out better for her because look what's happened to her now having a better career in now doing stage shows like IE The Waitress, Les Miserables and of course this one Wicked, and possible many more hopefully still singing and doing theatre when she's finished this show when it ends, and The X Factor? Sadly no more thank god it got cancelled in the end. So on that note great video.
Ha, I was sooo annoyed and sad when Simon Cowell chose Jedward over Lucie!! 😤😤 ‘…that’s it, i’m not watching X factor ever again…’ ‘…they kept the crap entertainment in rather than the real talent…’ 😂😂😂
@@chrisbullPiano Yes I've never been much of a fan of him either, I'm glad I'm not the only one who disagree with him.
She also represented the UK at Eurovision 2017 and gave the UK it’s best result until this year with Sam Ryder
@@SimplethingsOfficial Oh did she ok I must of missed that that thanks for letting me know I'll have to check that out. Thanks again 👍 take care.
@@chrisbullPiano I have to agree with you not a fan of Simon but did you know that Lucy was not the only one to preform at west end live on the certain day that Simon sent home he has sent home quite a few people who are more successful on the west end now
had to go to tiktok after watching this to see how loud the crowd was and omg it was loud
I am crying 😭 She’s so amazing!!!! Yass Lucie!
I was there and this video even though its so amazing it just doesn't sum up how brilliant it was!!
I ve seen Lucie in Wicked in June and omg, she was amazing, i had goosebumps every single second of the show!
OUTSTANDING!
just saw it at the Apollo last month. knew nothing of the story but omdz I was hooked instantly and sobbing by the end. just incredible! really hope I get to see it again
Was saw this a couple of days ago. One of the best experiences of my life. Breathtaking 💚
Love her happy swirl 😍
I am completely obsessed with Lucie Jones as Elphaba 😍🧹
I'll be in London in September. Lucie just sold me a ticket to Wicked.
You'll LOVE it. It's just so clever and incredibly moving
I just saw Wicked in London and hour ago. AMAZING.
loved these two in wicked
Hell yes, best performance of the whole weekend by a country mile. Defying Gravity was off the chart
lucie really did that
Although I have not seen wicked, I love the songs
Fantastic
I loved this
Obsessed 💚💚💚💚
Oh my god this Elphaba is soooo good
This was incredible I hope to do this one day! ♥️💚
You will bestie
Yes, so good ✨💚✨
Elphaba lokona.🤣🤪 rock star. Tomou muita poção verde. ❤
Could hear Lucie belt defying gravity from
the Adelphi!
and they say eurovision destroy careers, luck at Lucie go, so happy for her :)
It so good 😊
God, she's amazing
WIth a beautiful story and amazing songs, whoever plays Elphaba, just appeared to be a fearless woman. Her green skin at least for me is making her stronger yet kindhearted
Why do they do the same songs every year 😂? Good singing by the way . Not hating bc I absolutely love this so much but I feel like they do these 2 songs every year .
They do the same exact thing for Matilda. Every year, they have one of the current girls from the show perform "Naughty". In 2019, "When I Grow Up" was performed with most of the cast. I love this show too but not as much as Matilda.
Most years they have a different cast x
Usually musicals do the same songs because they work best to do live. Shows tend to do the big numbers, or songs that show off the vibe and cast but don’t give away too much of the plot
@@izzythepsychicpotato7094 Exactly. just commen sense, right?
Brilliant.
I’m glad they are not trying to hide their British accents, I know that sometimes with American stories they use a fake American accent, but with stories like this there is really no need, Oz is a fictional place anyway, the only characters that would have an American accent is Dorthy and the wizard who are from Kansas, but even then I never understood why people use fake accents, it sounds much better to just use your natural one and doesn’t detract from the story at all 👍🏻
Lucie is phenomenal
So glad I went.
WOW!
Incredible performances from them both. So sad to see people watching it through their phones instead of enjoying the moment. The whole thing is professionally recorded, embrace the fact your there and put your phone away!
Kiw good morning good good morning love love you too love love your dad and dad is
Nah I'm with people wanting to record for their own posterity.
100% Agree. As if one of them would ever watch this back on their shitty phones, I mean why. Just be present in this moment.
Taking on a that vocally - demanding role with multiple performances per weak is not an easy walk in the park for any performer.
Can't wait for Matilda to come on tomorrow!!!
I heard they're performing "Telly" 😢.
wicked west end live 2022
Wicked大好きです💕
for good 感動です😍
日本でもWickedの舞台が観たいです✨
💚💚💚
I think this is my first time hearing “Up in the sky defying gravity, flying so high defying gravity” sung live.
Defying Gravity: Flying Solo Version
Hard to believe that when Lucie was on XFactor, the judges saved Jedward instead of her! Look whos laughing now!
Her voice would be brilliant for Pocahontas, possibly even more matching than for Wicked.
OH MY GOD LUCIE JONES
♥️
I would love to see Lucie as Pocahontas with Disney in a few years. I am sure she would vocally fit the role.
She’s white..
@@KatieIsabelle08 looks green to me!!
True. She is not the strongest Elphaba but she didn't sing the role particularly wrong.
So whatever people say: you do yours at the best of your skills.
PETITION: Lucie for Broadway. After Talia.

♥️xxx
It may not have been Idina or comparable to Wilhemijn at her best. But beyond every performer is a person. I am sure they are trying to deliver at the best of what they can. There is no attitude for total cruelty 'She cannot sing...?' towards someone who is a trained singer with maybe some singing flaws they needed to train off? But otherwise fitting vocally into the character well enough. People do have fluctuations in daily performances. People nowadays only accept absolute perfection in the times of auto-tune, multiple takes but together on an album to make it 'perfect.' People have never been more cruel than in times of modern social media. One note that is under the expectations of the viewers and you are getting scrutinised. And it is out there for everyone to see. This isn't easy. Putting yourself out there.
You cannot judge the overall skills of a performer by one performance only, anyway. Even if West End Live is a showcase for all the shows running. I find it a pity Elphaba gets a bit drowned out by Glinda duetting.
When the crowd wasn't absolutely SCREAMING Defying Gravity when she gave them the mic... I lost a little bit of faith in humanity
Oh don’t worry we definitely were. You just can’t hear it here 😂
Is that sign language interpreter?
But some comments are cruel. Most of the notes were not off. But hardly any performers are as perfectly trained up for Wicked as Idina or Wilhemijn. They both make perfect Elphaba. And comparing that to someone who hasn't got same x years of performing that role under the belt, yet... . It is difficult to say how things can develop. But to tell someone that they sing everywhere wrong...? If you want to criticise, at least criticise some points to work on, instead of just saying: she can't sing...? She may not have been technically the best singer she could still become, yet.
You are mad. You are doing the exact same thing as what you are criticizing
