Dr. Mandell ... After a year of dealing with neck discomfort and annoying pain I'm finally feeling significant improvement. I have been doing all your neck exercises daily. I tried different methods, acupuncture, physical therapy and others...Your techniques are helping me...Thank you..

I just did this for my sprained neck and I felt an immediate relief after staying in this position for a good 15 minutes with my neck down the bedside. Thanks again Dr.Mandell!

This was the very first video I saw from Dr. Mandell and definitely gives me relief in my neck. I just ordered the Over door Neck traction device, now I know it needs to be done facing the door. Great information doc! Thanks a lot for your time and help

Thank you Dr. Probably much better than what a physical therapist taught me, but useful also.
Even standing let the head drop forward. Place a couple of fingers where you showed at the base of both sides of the skull.
Then push forward and down with a little force; probably to make up for the force of gravity in your method.
Do this for a few seconds each time, if it feels better to do more than once.
This does offer a type of "emergency" help if one of your traction efforts can not be done at the time.
Thank you again for all your help.

My years as a dental hygienist wreaked havoc on my neck. A part of a cervical vertebrate actually snapped while cleaning a patient's teeth! Eighteen years later, I have a cervical herniation, stenosis, spondylosthesis and paralyzing constricture...on the worst days I cannot do the toilet paper routine if you get my drift!
How much pain can one widow take? I sure appreciate you and your videos, Doctor 💕

A little late to respond. X-rays screen only hard stuff the spine bones not the disc, nerves and spinal canal. It's not very reliable for full picture what's going on. Do some nuclear magnetic reosonance to view all spine structures. If you care indeed.

    HI there,
From X-ray, I have mild reversed lordosis centered C5 that could reflect muscle spasm. Right now in pain. I just got recently diagnosed. And there is moderate degenerate disc narrowing at C5-C6, C6-C7. Mild foramen narrowing left C3-C4, C5-C6. I am about to see a physician for further assessment. I tried this exercise out and it's a slight painful - i'm not going hard. Should I talk to my physician and chiropractor about this exercise and neck decompression on whether I can do those yet.

    Hello Dr. Mandell
i suffer from a chronic hands and fingers pain .I have a minimal disc bulge at C4-C5 level when i got my first mri results back in 2012. However, in 2015 i had a car accident, i was rear ended by car causing whiplash and neck and shoulder pain. after the crash, I had my 2nd mri and it showed a minimal disc bulge and straightening of the normal cervical lordosis. This month i had my 3rd mri test, and the results came different with 2 more small disc herniations in C3-4 and C5-C6 which results in pain and tightness on my neck shoulders muscles, and a straightening of the normal cervical lordosis. So doctor do you think the loss of cervical curve has affected my discs and lead to herniations? and how i can restore my neck curve?

Dr. Mandell has given video after video of things to alleviate neck, shoulder injuries. What a gift. Just try them, you may be surprised what it will do. I got into a major trampoline accident that torqued my shoulders, neck and jaw and in time cracked most of my teeth. My thumbs are always in pain also. I was a singer and lost my voice due it. I'm definitely going to try everything that he's shown to us. I just recently started yoga classes and just the week or so that I have been doing them as improved my posture and my voice is coming back. I can't wait to add dr. Mandel's suggestions. Love it. Life is a miracle and thank you Dr. Mandel.

Thank you, Dr. Mandell. You have a lot of very useful exercises. I have just watched the Most Important exercise for neck pain where you show a head stretch back with a towel. As far as I understand, the stretch back with a towel helps with neck pain that stems from having the head forward a lot (like when sitting at the computer). But this particular exercise with traction uses the stretch forward. Is it still useful for people with pain stemming for having the head tilted forward all the time anyways? I'm just trying to understand the mechanics of it. And if it is useful, can these two exercises be combined in a set (let's say do both of them after you wake up or before going to bed?). Should any other exercises be added into a set to get maximum relief for constant chronic neck pain? Thank you.

    • @motivationaldoc
      @motivationaldoc  7 років тому +3

Yes, you can diversify them. They can be used in different settings. Most important is preventing forward head posture
