We've been using the T4 for about a year now and we love it. Quality has been really good. Have used it in the rain without any issues--as long as you zip up properly. Zippers have not had a problem at all. Highly reccomend.
I have a new T3X that i have used for two nights. Even though the doors are awkward I do enjoy not crawling in and out. Also, being able to bring a chair inside in lousy weather is pretty nice. Finally, size and weight are no problem compared to the T4 I once owned. I hope the fabric near the doors will stretch over time. Great review.
I'm glad that you finally bought yourself a Gazelle. I have had my Gazelle for a couple of years and I can't live without it. In regards to the zipper, I have not had any issues. I have an overland edition as well. I have had every type of tent in the forty plus years of outdoors and Gazelle is the best to date. I will never go back to those pesky roof tops.
Glad to hear you haven't run into any issues with yours. I suspect (hope) that the zipper will loosen up a bit with a few more nights use. But yeah, ease of setup and teardown and the sheer amount of room inside is pretty incredible. Loving it so far!
I have the same Gazelle you have. Zero issues with the zipper. BUT I have almost gone back to a small ground tent because of size! Ease didn't outweigh the space!
Same here .... although with enough wind, the walls will pop in. Has happened twice to us .... but even still, it holds up better than our old tent did.
I have the gazelle t4 overland edition for the past 3 years and it is hands down my favorite tent. With the zippers I always get the wrong zipper (like I mix up the screen with the door). The other thing is it’s a bit of a challenge to fit my cot inside due to door size. But honestly I haven’t had any issues with my tent and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
I would like to see a future follow up on how it does in wind and rain. Seems that door location would allow water into tent. Thanks for the comparison!
For there to be so many defects on a tent with that price point is a little much. My family has run a CORE9 instant tent from costco for two years now and have had zero issues and for a third of the price. With the door issue and tears and space it takes thats a hard pass for me. That being said hope it works out for you. Its crazy Gazelle actually sold that at an expo.
Great Review (New Subscriber here) - I have been looking to purchase a new tent for overlanding, and I think I am going to pull the trigger on this one! Great Video!
Personally, my husband and I were too cramped in the T3, so we got a T4 instead. We have an Exped Megamat Duo 10 which is the length and width of a standard full-sized mattress. In the T3, that bed took up almost the whole tent. In the T4 there's space on either side of the bed for each of our bags, and along the foot of the bed for walking. It definitely doesn't feel too big for us!
rcan you comment on the overland version over the regular? I know that the footprint, stakes, and bag are must haves, but do you like the blue color over the green? Does it feel "unnatural" compared to the green when you're inside?
I got a T4X on I think it is wores the the Eurika tent I have had for 10 years and will be going back to my Eurika tent even though it takes longe to set up. The Problems I have is the door big time ( I tripped going out of it several time and almost fell over) it is just to hard to get the cot setup inside the tent. Also it seamed on side of the tent didnt match up where the poles lined up and one of the tie down riped off when I tied the string to it before it even was put in the ground. Also the sive at 5ft it has to sit cross ways in the bed of my truck and just takes to much room when it only gains me 5 minutes setup time. I do like the video though. For me the downsides just are to much copaired to my other tent... so I am going to sell the Overland version I have and my Eurika is still good to use. I think I fell into the trap that it is a beeter tent becouse everyone said it was. On the plus side my zippers did work great.
Yeah, you bring up a good point. There is NO one "perfect" tent / sleep setup. For some the Gazelle is great, for others it's a different tent, or RTT, or trailer, etc... Ultimately, it's all about finding the option that you like the most and sticking with it!
There are very few tents I have seen as polarizing as the Gazelle. Maybe the Shiftpod. They seemed to be absolutely loved or absolutely hated. One of the big issues I have heard is condensation. I am guessing you haven't noticed any issue with that? How big is it packed?
We haven't had any condensation issues, but we've not yet put it through its paces on a really wet / humid / damp day. So we'll see! The packed size is probably the biggest drawback. It is NOT small when packed up. I don't have dimensions off the top of my head, but we store ours in the rear seat footwell and it pretty much takes up the entire thing
@@WheretoNextOverlandheh, I have used Kodiak canvas tents for years, so size isn't so much an issue for me. :) As long as it will fit between the doors of my JL I am happy.
Gazelle's definitely feel like you're packing an EZ-up canopy in your rig. Our T4 is actually larger packed up than our camping canopy packed up lol. The trade-off is me, wifey & 2 kids feel like we have a hotel room when we're camping.

No issues with wind? Waterproofing good?
Was at Zion last week in strong winds. Tie downs work perfectly. Have had a couple rain showers over the years with no leaks.

Thanks! Sounds like you've had some of the same issues we did (especially the door and zipper)

Glad to hear you didn't have any zipper issues with the Gazelle. I hear you about the space it takes up in a vehicle though ... it's massive
I've had great luck with my Gazelle. High winds, not a problem.

Yeah, we're curious to see how it does over time and in rainy conditions as well. Maybe we'll revisit with another video after a year of use

Thanks! I don't think you can go wrong with a Gazelle
T3 plenty big for the two of you and all your stuff, or do you wish you had the t4?
Plenty big. Has room for a queen airmattress and enough extra space for our stuff. I think the T4 would be overkill for just the 2 of us

Yeah that's fair. In the T3, our queen air mattress does take the majority of the space. Can only set our stuff on one side of it

Personally, I prefer the look of the blue over the green. Haven't noticed or thought about it much when inside the tent
😂 the zipper segment 💯 On all points 😅

I have rhe regular t4. Its been a good tent for me. I dont like it in winter cause all the heats rises haha. I like my gofsr Aspen lite rtt
We haven't tried using the Gazelle in winter yet .... don't really want to either haha
Love the blue color. I have the T3 green. Don’t like the doors on mine. Too short for me.
Yeah, the blue looks good. I agree that the doors are a bit awkward

What is the size of the duffle bag the tent comes in?
@@poweredbyjoy9682 idk exactly, but it's pretty big. It BARELY fits in the backseat footwell of our Lexus.
Christine, can you please share what your insulted suit/wearable cozy thingamabob is? That looks perfect for cold camps.
Haha..nevermind, I found it in your other video. Thanks!
Christine swears by that Selk bag!
@WheretoNextOverland I believe it! I looks so cozy.
They use roof top tents because thats what's instagram told them to.

I mean, I WISH Gazelle would sponsor us. But nah, no money or product was exchanged for the making of this video.
