- We head to a local Draft Horse Sale. We are super excited about this auction! There are suppose to be four clydesdale mares/fillys consigned and as you all know by now, we are hoping to add another clydesdale to our homestead this year. So let’s go check them out! FYI This is NOT the national clydesdale sale. This was the 2024 spring Booneville Draft Horse Sale we attended.

Heart-wrenching when you can't afford to bring this sweet baby home...so sad! But maybe there is a more perfect one waiting for you to come along...sure hope so.

Love your videos. I used to have 3 horses when I lived in Illinois. One just for riding, a pregnant mare, then her baby. Had to give it up after a car accident. Gave the riding horse to the stable where I kept her. I miss being around horses and getting to know you and your horses is almost like being there with them. ❤❤❤
Oh so sad you didn't get the yearling Gladys! Agree with you that she would've been a great fit for you. After attending this auction, are you rethinking your $4k budget? Is it reasonable to think you'll find a good one for that? The ones you were interested in at this auction all went for more. It'll be interesting to see what Clydesdale you end up buying and hope the perfect one comes thru for you. ❤️
It is great that the seller told you about the lameness the problem can be is they can give them steroids or something for the pain and so the lameness may not show up at the time

Sorry you couldn’t get her. Her hooves were so nice, that indicates,to me, her current owners treated her well. Such a beauty and so sweet. Good luck at the next auction. Oliver needs a pal.

Sorry you didn't find the mare you are looking for. All 3 on the video were good looking. My brother lived near Sedalia in Knob Noster. I have been to Sedalia in the past. Good memories there.❤❤😅😅😅

I was disappointed you didn't get her!!! But then there was Gladys: beauty, playfulness, eagerness, and personality. What a doll! Could imagine her playing with Oliver! But then every one of those filly's were pretty special. I'm a Thoroughbred girl but danged if I'm not falling in love with Clydesdales! Never expected those words to come out of my mouth. Can't wait to see what you eventually end up with!

The yearling filly was super nice! If I was looking for a 2nd Clydesdale, I would be looking at a yearling... building a bond of trust etc from younger up is usually a good idea!? Especially with such a big, strong breed of horse!? Maybe even a bit younger!?

Back in the day, decades ago I went to one auction that was a tack and horse sale. I bought some tack, but really couldn't afford another horse. Good thing I knew that I couldn't as the first one in the ring was a beautiful palomino that I would have loved to take home. So I get it when you cannot get the one you want. That filly really was a gorgeous thing. One thing I have discovered is that the final bidder really isn't the one who sets the price, it's the one who is the next to the last one as they quit bidding. So even if you had the money to try to get her, the price might have gone even higher.
And the Lord knows your desires, you'll find the right girl at the right time.
