- We have had some questions about the differences between the 2 seater and 3 seater rear bench in the Volkswagen California Beach. So here is a short video about it. This is true for the VW T5 and T6 California Beach.

Really good explanations there. Still surprised how many people don't fully appreciate the differences between the 2 and 3 seat bench. In a few years the 2 seat will be more valuable as it's easier to add a full cabinet set to create a proper camper interior.

Really good. The seat being the full width gives a much better bed and I didn’t know about the two seater/three seater choice. Two seater every time
But I want fridge kitchen and toilet so the Beach is out. Then you’re stuck with a narrow bed. Oh dear....

Thank you for this video- did not realise there was a 3 Seat option. Can you please explain more about the seat configurations at 1:38? You said with the 3 seat bench, you can add 2 seats, but with the 2 seat bench you can only add one.

Hi ! Thank you for this Video. If the 2-seat bench is lower, what is the difference / max. height in the back between the floor and the multiboard / seat extension (i.e. if you want to have a heavy duty pull out in the back with a cooling box on top).
Can I remove everything from the back - the seats, the bed and storage to make one big loading area to use like a van?
If you remove the bench in the two-seater, can you move the seat to the window side, away from the door?
Thanks for explaining this clearly. I believe that the beach can have dual (left+right) sliding doors. This would only be 3 seat configuration. Correct?
Yes, this video is from 2017. The 2020 T6.1 has the option for 2 sliding doors with the 3 seat bench.
@@Camperseu Q. I've heard that the 7 seat interior is only possible on the FWD model only. Is this true and if so Why would this be?
@@bunsenburner2693 That really depends on the country where you buy it from. From the factory it is possible to get a 7 seater beach with 4Motion and 199HP. Registration (Co2) taxes make the version to expensive in some countries and so VW does not offer it everywhere. Hope that helps.

Hello Patrick, Yes, it is very easy to take out. It is connected to the rail in the floor. You can take it out without any tools. For sure a custom made fridge will fit there. You could check out maxxcamp.de they have solutions for it. Hope that helps.

The 3 seat is higher but what’s the headroom like when it’s used as a seat?
Headroom is of course very good. It is the same headroom as the seat of a Transporter, Caravelle or Multivan. The seating area goes up if you turn it into a bed. Hope that helps.
Is the 2-seater available with ISOFix Attachments? I think this is a fact to consider also if you want to use baby chairs
Yes, good point. And yes, both the 2 and 3 seater have ISOFIX attachments.

Hi, I'm currently deciding between the two and the three seat bench. I'm interested in putting my skys inside the van, can I place them underneath both the three and the two seat bench? Once I remove the box under the two seat bench is there a "passing" hole under the bench?

Both seats have an opening for your ski's. You don't have to remove the box with the 2 seat bench.

Yes, it is very easy to take out. It is connected to the rail in the floor. You can take it out without any tools. Hope that helps.

If I travel with 4 people, and put the bench the closest possible to front, how much space I will have for luggage, just behind the bench? Could you measure the distance from the bench to the end of trunk. I will appreciate for that. it is not so easy to find VWCali in my place. Best Regards
If you put the bench all the way to the front you will have 130cm from the back of the bench to the end of the trunk. Hope that helps. Martyn
How big (in litres) is the storage compartment on the 2 seater.
