  • Testosterone is a crucial hormone for men, but did you know that testosterone levels are declining at an alarming rate? In this informative video, Dr. George and Mike Kocsis discuss the factors that are contributing to low testosterone levels and what men can do to support healthy testosterone production. From diet and exercise to lifestyle factors, this video covers it all. Don't miss this essential discussion on testosterone and its impact on men's health.
    The main sex hormone in guys is testosterone. The brain's hypothalamus and pituitary gland control the creation of testosterone. These two glands act as a signal for the release of testosterone from the testes' Leydig cells, which serve as its primary repository. In addition, both sexes' adrenal glands also create very modest amounts of testosterone.
    Why Testosterone Levels Are At RISK NOW More Than Ever! | Dr. George & Mike Kocsis
    The unbound form of testosterone in your body is known as free testosterone. Unbound testosterone, as opposed to total testosterone, which is chemically attached to the SHBG or albumin receptors, can serve as a receptor to any cell in the body.
    Free testosterone can easily combine with any cell's accessible receptor sites, thus it can freely combine with any T molecule and carry out cellular processes like regulating metabolism. When testosterone is already attached to a protein, the biological activity can't normally be carried out.

    I got tested two times. First at around 11 am with with levels just below the bottom of the ref. The next test at 8pm some months later with levels just a bit above lowest bottom.
    GP told me I was just fine and got SSRIs for my symptoms but I only got worse from that medication.
    I ultimately started TRT myself and monitor my own health with private doctors. Still not able to find a doctor in Denmark willingly to do this outside of the private sector. So I pay my tax and still have to pay private labs and doctors for my trt monitoring. Also sadly have to get my testosterone elsewhere.
    Meanwhile I am feeling a lot better on TRT. It is not a magic pill but it takes time.

    Hi George / Mike , I am a patient of BMH.
    Suffered with every symptom of low T for years, test level was 9.7 ( 8.5-29 range was normal for NHS ) they refused to help me so you guys have. And Thankyou for it.
    Is growth hormone something that will be available one day on yourselves? I feel this has been an issue for me also but I’d get laughed at if i asked the NHS.
    Seen huge improvements 6 months in.

      Growth Hormone is highly controlled. If there is a medical need for this then we can offer blood testing to determine and then it would be at the discretion of the treating doctor. We try to balance all of the hormones and not just testosterone but it's important to demonstrate clinical need and to be aware of the cost implications of hgh.

      @@darrencrainey5391 I have been with BMH about 8 months. It’s made me want to live my life again, the NHS told me I was fine and did not need testosterone yet had symptoms for over 5 years. My level was almost what they would describe as minimum but because it wasn’t low enough the NHS tried to say I was depressed
      Honestly if you have low T, I highly recommend it. You will want to live your life again

    My heart doctor requested I stop TRT which I started in 2014, and its been 16 months since I stoped and I feel blank overall, nothing. I have gained another 16kg of weight by eating the same. My heart was pumping at 45%, had water retention in the legs was extreme, my oximeter would read 89 to 91 oxygen and dropped as low as 77 during my sleep apnea. I could not walk. I now take statins since then Triatec 2.5mg, Concor 5mg, Metphormin 800mg and a baby Asprin 80mg.... which I do not like and have tanked mt "T". age 62, weight 165kg.

    Hi mike i hope u fine, ur videoss really helpful for me and give me such a big confidence, because my level were 182ng/dl my age was 35 and i started trt 3 months ago, not all symptoms gone away but feeling much better i m using gel 50mg/5g,i did try everything b4 trt e.g exercise,diet supplement etc.but nt feel well even clomid 50mg for 2andhalf month feel better but after end my clomid i start feeling exhausted my level were more than 1000mg/dl but freet were 10pg/ml which was low.
    What do think that some people feel better on injection than gel? Or all trt same? What is freet level in pg/ml?
    THANKYOU

      Treatment modality depends on your symptom resolution, and your ability to adhere to it. Injections are the most direct route and are the most prescribed globally. If gels work for you then fine. Some men prefer compounded creams. Others dislike topicals or find the injections get the job done.

      @@balancemyhormones does this mean biotin supplements can cause falsely higher testosterone blood tests?

    • @balancemyhormones
      @balancemyhormones  Рік тому

      Yes, biotin supplements can potentially cause false high results for testosterone levels when measured in blood by a laboratory analyzer. This is known as the "biotin effect" or "biotin interference." It is important to inform your healthcare provider if you are taking biotin supplements, as this may affect the accuracy of certain laboratory test results. Your healthcare provider may recommend temporarily discontinuing biotin supplementation before undergoing certain laboratory tests.

      It's important to consult with your healthcare provider to understand why you might not be feeling the expected effects of the TRT injections, especially given your unique medical situation with the pituitary tumor.

    What to do to increase shbg on TRT? I was 23% bf 7 years ago when I started and my shbg was low and of course it got a lot worse after TRT. I gained weight and developed lipomastia and a complete inability to lose fat, especially subcutaneous fat.

    • @balancemyhormones
      @balancemyhormones  Рік тому +1

      You don’t try to raise SHBG but you try to match the dose To accommodate the low shbg and get to the source of why it’s low? Metabolic syndrome? Then correct the causes of this.

    • @balancemyhormones
      @balancemyhormones  Рік тому +2

      Testosterone does not increase insulin resistance it improves it by increasing insulin sensitivity in men.
      "There were significant interactions between testosterone and sex for all tested metabolic traits. Increasing testosterone was associated with less body fat, elevated insulin sensitivity, and reduced glycemia, independent of adiposity in men. "

      @@balancemyhormones As this doctor, Paulo Muzy, explains, with the shbg below 30 at the beginning of the trt, testosterone will cause an even greater drop and the lower the shbg, the greater the insulin resistance, as we can see in several studies that demonstrate the link between shbg low vs diabetes and metabolic syndrome.

    • @balancemyhormones
      @balancemyhormones  Рік тому +1

      The SHBG is dropping due to the testostosterone and it's impact on lowering shbg. DHT also lowers SHBG by But the shbg dropping as a result of the injection is not the same as someone who presents with low shbg and insulin resistance.testosterone can lower SHBG levels by decreasing production of SHBG in the liver, competing for binding sites on the protein, and modulating the activity of other hormones that affect SHBG production. However, the exact mechanism is not fully understood. Nornal TRT should not cause insulin resistance. Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is used to treat low testosterone levels in men. Some studies have suggested that TRT may increase the risk of insulin resistance. However, the evidence is not clear-cut, and other studies have found no significant association between TRT and insulin resistance.
      TRT can lead to an increase in muscle mass and a decrease in body fat, which can improve insulin sensitivity.
      It's important to note that TRT may have different effects in different men, and the risk of insulin resistance may vary depending on the individual's overall health and risk factors.
