My wife and I moved 100 hundred miles to Somerset to live our dream, it was a big scarry step. After moving in I set up the hifi and played this as it was a favourite that meant a lot. It summed up our feelings perfectly. Unfortunately 4 years later my wife died after a very short illness and I played it at her funeral. I still play it, I love it. It still makes me happy. But sometimes I also cry as well. Thanks Katie. X

Do you know how old is this song. It was first release by a guy called Collin Vearncombe alias Black back in 1987. It was a massive hit for him. He sadly passed away in 2015. RIP.

I saw a sadness behind her eyes. I'm a recent fan of Katie, but you see a driving trauma in her about life itself. It's magnificent to be able to take your turn at pain, but turn it into joy for millions of blissfully ignorant people. It's all in her last word of this song: "lie." I couldn't agree more.
Well, despite what many people think, it is a sad song.
@clasencoach it is a sad song and it is delivered in a subtle layered, emotionally intelligent manner. From a great loss and waste of life, joy can emerge. If we allow the lesson. We are creatures of exposure to forces we understand and forces we are learning from. Suffering and loss is life. Birth is pain. Joy is ever present in the moment.

@@paulstillwell3874 Black is very close to my heart. He attended Prescot Grammar School (10 mins from me), that my great auntie used to be a cleaner at. My late brother used to look very like Colin, in his late teens.
Colin passed on 26th of Jan 2016. My brother passed (45 years) exactly 6 months later on the 26th July 2016. My brother used to play his first album on cassette, and I always got to hear it. Colin had a fair few songs, that I still love to listen to now.
