as a danish person its funny but admirable when people want to learn our language - welcome to scandinavia! Im learning arabic (its my degree, and yes i do actually understand some of what the Abbasid units are saying!) and would love to learn a bit of chinese and more japanese as im currently also studying their history as elective courses at university.
as a native arabic speaker most of their words sound weird to me and i would struggle to register them because of their dialect or old words, so it's really impressive that you can understand it. good luck in your studies.
I am Chinese and so glad to hear someone try to learn our language. Chinese units dialogues are pretty different from modern mandarin both in sounds and in context, but I can assure you that those dialogues are historically accurate. I can find their sounds in so many dialects such as Hakka(spoken in Taiwan), Cantonese (Hong Kong), Wu Yu(ShangHai) and so on. Some words are not commonly used now, but I knew their meanings because every Chinese were taught ancient chapters since their childhood.
