Replaying an Underrated Fighting Game on the Nintendo 64. Fighters Destiny has a very unique point system and game mechanics
that differ from other fighting games. Released in 1998, it seemed to go under the radar from the Fighting Game community

This game deserves a modern update
Alot of games do but I don't think there's a big enough fan base. 😅
I recently wanted to look at what the original developer of the game does, well when I tried clicking on their website it apparently was hacked and my browser told me to not touch a single thing and just leave the site.
So I suppose they don't do much nowadays and the Copyright is now just waiting to run out

Wow, this is bringing back memories. One of the most underrated N64 games with so much to do and characters to master. I love the flow of the game and point system, like an actual fighting game tournament.
One of those games that really stood out for me.
@@AcidGlow Definitely. Played it at another community when my parents went to go for a meeting and absolutely loved it, to the point that I stole the game from visiting back in late '99
@@Unaliq that's when I first played Hexen 64. And I got into that also 😄
@@AcidGlow Hexen 64 was so much fun but also difficult cause it had a different combat system compared to the usual Run & Gun FPS at the time. I've since grown to appreciate the game and that it's one of the best and unique N64 FPS games to grace the console. I wish Nintendo could add Hexen and Fighter's Destiny to the library. At least we got Wave Race ever since Blue Storm's release back on the GameCube.

Loved this game as a kid and i still love it, it is a great game. I think i played the ninja. I remember getting so mad and attacking my stepdad when he was winning.

I was like 5 years old when I first had an N64, and I had a few mario games, and Fighters Destiny. I always mained default BORO without playing master challenge, and I kept spamming her raiders heel and rainbow somersault, because I didn't understand the game back then.
Also fun fact: Repeatedly tapping both a and b can recover your health faster.
its been over a decade since your first FD64 video and you have come back to this gem. I loved this game so much as a kid but never had anyone to play it with... How I wish a modern version of this style would be in EVO
I did revisit this game for a few videos 6 and 7 years ago. It's a unique game and I will always like it. Just not sure if I should do a full guide on the mechanics though. 🤷♂️
Come on Nintendo, get this for the 64 emulator! People can really appreciate these games now.
This game was fantastic!! I loved those blue attacks that could randomly KO the opponent with one hit.. Never really understood how it worked, but it was great. Such a good game. The replays and “get out if grabble” mechanics was also outstanding 👌

Sometimes I think i can beat that clown easily but his moves are so tricky. Reminds me of Eddy Gordo in Tekken. 😆

I play this a lot on emulator in retroarch. That works great with ps4controllers. The graphics are good to and can be adjusted after taste.

1:57, well there are actually 2 others. Abdul has the Flying Fish from Hell, and Tomahawk has the Throw Away Giant Swing, but yeah it's pretty crazy to think that there are only 3 Specials that can be done against a non dizzy opponent.

Phantom weed input is insane
After i thought I'd seen it all, there's so many kooky motion inputs out there
Even if the opponent survives the combo,they just hit low kick to stop the final attack... 😵💫

The thing about counter attacks is that you can prevent yourself from getting knocked out if you press A+B at the right time. You'll still be at a disadvantage but you'll prevent a quick 3 point loss and that's what happened agains tBoro. Personalyl I have an easier time reversing counter atacks that knock me sideways as opposed to the ones that knock you backwards. The timing is really tight.
Man this & so many other games Nintendo can bring back & more polished for Switch.
I remember when i unlocked the Joker with Leon. I beated 113 in survival mode. I was screeming when i had him!

Underrated and really fun! I still enjoy Fighter's Destiny to this very day, everything from the characters, stages and soundtracks are all so memorable to me! And I still boot it up to play with my father, such good times! 😌💖

I remember being 5 years old playing this and my dad and cousin would mercilessly slaughter me because I'd always act like a cocky shithead. Now I play Tekken. 10/10 would get yeeted off the stage again.

I honestly believe a recreation of this game could easily become an esport. The design could lead to multiple epic moments in a single match. Most underrated fighting game ever made.
Does anybody know how to reset the unlocks for this game if using a used copy? I have a copy with some characters unlocked and I can’t seem to find a menu option to reset the unlocks.
Its saved on the memory pack. Delete the save file?
@@AcidGlow I don’t have a memory pak in the controller at the moment, and it still shows the unlocked characters.

It almost reminds me of an arcade title I've been trying to locate since I forgot it's name after playing in 99. It's not quite it though. I'll have to try this out anyway though.

@@AcidGlow It was 3D models in a 2.5D arena iirc. It played a little like Tekken but there was a soul consumption sort of thing going on and as you advanced through each round you became more powerful. Losing started you from base character level. It was absolutely not Soul Edge or Soul Caliber. It wasn't a Bloody Roar game either. I was pretty into the character upgrade mechanic in a fighting game.
@@Rogar555 No. That has ring arenas and the locations were more scenic, like on rope bridges between mountains or underneath sunsets. Can't say those were there for sure but that's the general idea.
This was my 2nd favorite fighting game aside from Killer Instinct which comes in at number 1. This game was the shit

For me, this game seem to be a plagiarism of virtua figther. this is exactly same moves sets with huges similiraties for imputs strings. Even caracters have same design...
