This isn't a piece of art in engineering terms. But as some Picasso's works, it's just simply beautiful. Nothing about reliability, sportiness ans so on.. just pure design and pure pleasure for your eyes. I simply love every single angle of this masterpiece.
z8 is an instant classic. Old school design and has a hard top that makes it an amazing coupe. This is thing will be worth a million bucks soon. Just stunning all the way around.
Surprisingly these haven't reached "exotic" status, so prices for low mile samples have been hovering below $200K, which is pretty low for a collector's car considering how few of these were made (under 6,000 total worldwide). And it's a shame it was so short-lived. The BMW Z4, 3-series convertible, etc., just do not compare to the classic lines of this beauty.

Notice how the leather in the seat bottoms are stretched and warped, and there is still very little mileage on this car. In contrast, the seats in the Alfa Romeo 8C were built to remain crisp, taut, and structured.
Have had the opportunity to work on a few and test drive them I have to say I really enjoyed the engineering behind the z8 model when removing components it can get a bit tricky on them but well worth the driving experience

bmw at their peak. just throwing this beautiful thing together, specifically for driving casually and stylishly and quickly to the south of france or switzerland, direct, one shot, from munich hq. this engine has a gumball record under it's belt folks. it will do 300k on the autobahn for 1hr, and you will look cool doing it with this 50's throwback elegance that says "we can do better than the americans with no trouble!".
dash board is a bit of a dogs dinner but the rest of the car is beautiful, please mr BMW bring back the bloke who designed this and give us all a break from the current crop of corporate dull as dishwater efforts, please all your cars used to be beautiful in the 80's and a very good few years before and a couple after too
I dont think this car justifies the asking pricetag these cars demand. Even for Original MSRP they came with those measly brakes? for a 6 figure car with a 400hp v8? And acceleration is mediocre considering the M5 and even E46 M3s could do similar 0-60. Compare this against a newer Mercedes SLS amg or even new AMG GT and GTs. No comparison, and I am not saying technology or acceleration since the later models are over a decade newer so expected to be better. But even sheer lines and design.

Last I checked out 5-7 years ago you could find for about 80k. Now it's in 150-300k range, a worthwhile investment.
