We love Liberty of the Seas. A perfect sized ship. If you don't want to sail with a bunch of kids, book the first two weeks in December. It's exam time for most kids so parents don't want to take them out of school. The fee kids we have encountered are homeschooling and tend to be really well behaved
If cruising from San Juan PR make sure you arrive 1 or 2 days earlier. Stay at any hotel in the Old San Juan area. It's a walkable city so no need to rent a car. Just get a taxi from the airport to Old San Juan and the day you leave you can walk to the pier. No need to spend money on tours. San Juan has great options within walking distance like going to El Morro fort, walking to the Paseo La princesa, Pigeon Park (Parque de las Palomas), shopping and eating at either Barrachina (creators of the Piña Colada) or Raíces for great local food. Have a local beer 🍻 (Medalla) and then a great trip. Enjoy
Thanks Sherri! Just booked a fun mother/daughter cruise with my daughter, who will be 23 years old when we go on Oasis of the Seas. I appreciate the tips!!
Just so you know, we were on a RCI cruise last week and they still allowed us to bring water on board. We brought 16 bottles of water and 2 bottles of wine.
Hi Sheri and Matt thank you for sharing all your information. I love RCCL. I want to throw my 2 cents in here on tips. For Oasis and Allure, first stop go to Park Cafe for the famous Kummelweck Roast Beef sandwich. In your tips you said this was at Cafe Promenade but it is at Park Cafe only. After you try one you will probably get another before the cruise is over and if your lucky you will hear the chef yodel. (They also have delicious salads and fresh fruit cups) Cafe Promenade had great little finger sandwiches and pastries along with good coffee and a nice selective of flavored teas.
I love Royal Caribbean. My Father and I are Emerald and almost Diamond. I booked thee BOGO specialty dining package for $30 per peson. We love the 2 week cruises and booked our April Tamoa Amsterdam cruise on the Brillance.
Another tip for Royal Caribbean is to us the MyVegas games apps. These are games that you can play to earn what they call loyalty points. Along with using these for good times in Vegas, Royal Caribbean has some rewards as well. These points can be accumulated to earn on board credits, discounts, sometimes even free cruises on Royal Caribbean. The offers change quite a bit, but if you're diligent you can score some good time stuff!
It took me a couple years to accumulate enough MyVegas loyalty points for a free RCL cruise. (Prior, I used loyalty points for Vegas excursions, such as shows and buffets.) I took the cruise in December 2016 on Independence of the Seas and haven't seen any MyVegas RCL cruise offerings since. I'll be on the Freedom of the Seas in November 2018 and will use MyVegas for a 10% off RCL cruise package and $100 onboard credit. MyVegas used to offer $250 onboard credit.
we are diamond plus members and have never had a problem bringing a case of water and case of soda on board, took 2 cruises last fall and had no issues(i see this was published 3/17). just put a luggage tag with room # on un-opened case and send with your luggage, will deliver all to your room.. also u cannot just put a deposit down and cancel anymore, the best deals have a non refundable or cancellation policy
I love RCCL and thank you for those tips and tricks and your videos are always informative and interesting. You do a good job in front of the camera and your husband does an excellent job behind the camera.
Hi Sherri! Perfect timing...my Hubs and I are sailing RCL in June. Perfect video timing. RCL let me pay for my drink package and my husband did not. On CCL both adults have to purchase it if you are in the same stateroom. I'm gonna book our anniversary dinner before we go. Thx for the tip!
Saved almost $1500 by calling in and checking the price of my cruise at least once a week for the first couple of months...they change promotions monthly but the prices fluctuate daily
I've heard many people say, "get a good travel agent," and that is something that I plan on doing now. But how do you know if a travel agent is any good? Or rather, how do you find a good and reliable travel agent?
Hi Sheri ❤ I found this video that you uploaded 6 years ago, I was wondering if the rule of not being allowed to bring soft drink (soda), onboard is still enforce? Or if you are allowed to bring it now? Just wondering for our march cruise on quantum of the seas ❤
Jo I could be wrong but i'm assuming if you have a royal Caribbean card you would get perks. if you don't get a certain percentage off of specialty dining you get more points than most banks credit cards get.
Thank you so much for this! I'm planning a surprise cruise on RCCL for my hubby and these are some great tips. I will definitely buy our drinks package early.
I love you videos, your cute personality, bright smile and adorable giggle really makes me feel like YOU SO GET ME! LOL seriously. I wish we would have used a travel agency, and also wish we would have found your channel before booking and paying for our late August LOS cruise. Anyway, I keep having my husband watch your channel! Warmest greetings from Dallas TX
Great tips! My family and I are going on our first cruise at the end of this week on Majesty of the Seas. Since we booked later we had to go with the 8:30 dining time. Do we have to eat then or do we have other options? Thank you for any info you can give!
+Christina Broeker Once onboard, you can request to be switched to anytime Dining or you could choose to eat at one of the buffet or specialty restaurants if that dining time is too late for you. Bon voyage and have a wonderful cruise on majesty!!!
Hi, I really have enjoyed watching all of your cruise tip videos in preparation for my cruise in a few months on Norwegian. Maybe next make a Norwegian Cruise Line Tips video! Thanks!
Is there a way to get the daily activity letters prior to cruising? I know it wouldn't be 100% accurate as some things may change, but by and large most things will be scheduled the same as the prior weeks sailing. I would like to hear your thoughts.
If you don't use a app and don't know how to use the cruise planner can you go onto there site and call up early and save 10.00 with a account mgr? when going to a port that sells drinks can you bring Gatorade on board? why only the first 2 weeks of March? one thing Matt forgot is for the people who have the Bank of America royal Caribbean card you get a certain percentage off when doing specialty dining, drink packages and certain excursions a ton of perks.
We're thinking of returning to RCL before too long, especially 7 days in the Caribbean. I would love to do Navigator (or similar class ship) to Labadee and the ABC islands. We favor the inside promenade cabins, which makes for a relatively inexpensive. cruise.
Me and my mom did the Navigator two years ago and I enjoyed it greatly! We also got an inside cabin because it was cheaper, but this year my mom is going with an ocean view room so we will see how that goes.
I haven't done a true inside cabin yet, just the inside promenade, but probably will in 2019 when we do a cruise tour in Alaska. We're only on the ship for 3 days, so not worth the extra money. I think you'll like the Ocean View.
I keep hearing incredible things about Navigator. Do you listen to Matt's podcast, Royal Caribbean Blog? They just did a group cruise on it, and it sounded fab. Just the right size, and still some good amenities.
I've only been on Navigator through RCL, but it is a great ship. It was the right size, and had an ice rink, Quest was hilarious, Promenade parades, Flowrider, and I believe these classes are getting slides. We saw Freedom of the Seas on our last cruise (which is basically Navigator with an extra deck or two, plus a boxing ring), and thought, that would be fun to do again. I just subbed Matt's channel.
Thanks Sheri I LOVE RC!!!! its always worth every penny. We are going on liberty of the seas Oct. 2017 cant wait. ( Its always better to book on the ship you get to use your deposit right then and there or wait until your next cruise ) I wish they would let us bring on soda like carnival :-(
Thank you for the awesome tips Sheri! I can't wait until May to sail on Freedom from Barcelona! :) We pre-ordered a case of 12- 1 litre bottles of water to be delivered to our stateroom on Embarkation day. We are not big alcohol drinkers and we don't drink pop so this was a good deal for us. We will also be bringing 2 bottles of 750 ml wine on board. :)
Trying to decide between royal Caribbean or Norwegian for western Caribbean 7 day cruise. Can’t decide between the two. Please help who would you recommend over all?
I have a question, Are you allowed to bring a 12 pack of like coke,Sprite etc. On the brilliance of the seas, Royal Caribbean? You have been helping me alot with my cruise I am going on my first cruise in 20 days so I was just wandering😁 I love this channel 😚
Hi Sheri. Nice Vlog. I gave my loyalty to RCCL some time ago but I wanted to ask you and Matt about booking. Rather than do it his/your way, I usually book at the last minute to get great deals, usually with guaranteed cabins. What are your opinions about this? I'm on the east coast of FL so the only long drive would be to Tampa.
Money $aving tips for cruising: 1. Book future cruises while ON a cruise. Royal Caribbean has a NextCruise office on each of its ships, and they will usually give you a better deal on a future cruise than if you were to book that same cruise online yourself. Sometimes they'll even throw in small perks like extra cash for on-board spending. 2. If your schedule permits, try cruising during January or February. Not only is it cheaper because it's not during peak season, but the Caribbean is typically much calmer during the winter (no hurricanes), AND it's much milder than in the summer months (slightly lower temperatures and humidity levels). 3. $ave $$ by booking an interior room! You'll hardly ever be IN your stateroom anyway. So why waste extra $$ on a balcony that you won't be spending much time on?! 4. Unless you're buying toiletries or medicine that you FORGOT to pack, don't shop on board until the last day/night of the cruise. Toward the end of every cruise, most merchandise in shops will go on sale by approximately 50%. 5. Speaking of medicines, bring/buy OTC medicines BEFORE you get on the ship. Cruise lines will charge a premium for Dramamine, Ibuprofen, sun screen, etc.. 6. BINGO: Most RC cruises will have at least two or three BINGO games with the reward of the final BINGO game being a free cruise! Although your chances of winning a free cruise may be fairly low, paying $29-$69 for a cruise won in a BINGO game is a much better deal than paying hundreds of dollars for that same cruise.
Wife and I have only cruised Carnival (11)but thinking of cruising on liberty of the seas. We added ship mate app and cruiseline.com . We love balconies and wanted to know what restaurants are free and which ones do we pay? Is ice skating free?
My family will be on Liberty of the Seas in June. Is it still possible to bring empty water bottles on board and fill them with water from the Windjammer? Things have changed since we cruised last (over 8 years ago). While I will have a soda package we don't want to purchase water because $40 for 12 liters (which we would go through in one day) is expensive for our little family.
I'm so confused. I watch other UA-cam Channels about Cruising with Royal Caribbean, and the other channels say I CAN bring Water Bottles and Soda (up to 12) on Embarkation Day. Did the rules change recently? Our Harmony Cruise is in a few weeks.
Hi dear i have a question im about to taste this cruise on June 11, From Galveston to Honduras, Mexico, my question is: is this cruise going to pass thought this beautiful island? thanks in advance this is my dream travel going to USA just to make this cruise. Im From Mozambique in Africa.
Hello! I am just wondering, is the Allure of the Seas a good choice for cruising? I have 2 adults, 1 teen, 1 13 year old and a twelve year old. I am just wondering, what is extra. This will be our second cruise. Our first one was on the Carnival Splendor. What restaurants are included, and what aren't. Also, my kids are ice cream junkies. Is it free, or extra? Last question... What are the age brackets for the kids clubs?
+Slasher hello! Yes, it would be a great choice for your family. Here a link to the adventure ocean age brackets:www.royalcaribbean.com/contentSiteletSub.do?pagename=family_kids&pagenameMain=main_family&discriminators=2 What is extra: shore excursions, specialty dining (but there's tons of free food), booze, soda, coffee (premium), premium activities, and room service. You could easily cruise without spending a ton extra. I'm not sure about the ice cream but you could email Matt at Royal Caribbean block to get the answer on that I'm sure he knows. I would also recommend asking him the same questions because he is an absolute Royal Caribbean expert!
Hi Slasher, There are several choices on Royal's website showing all the restaurants that are included. As for the ice cream; the ice cream parlor on the "Boardwalk" you have too pay for BUT the Wipeout Cafe has soft serve for free and also there is frozen yogurt on the pool deck for free all day long. lol Enjoy your cruise!!
Sorry-forgot to ask about the drinks-my partner doesn't drink alcohol at all so we have bought a soft drinks package for her while i am quite a light drinker so i've decided to pay as i go. What i want to know is-where does she collect her glass/tumbler for this and also-are there many drinks machines dotted around the ship because if we are at a show or at the 'bouncing club' ;- ) i wouldn't want to walk miles to find a soft drinks machine-Thanks-Alan
They will be in your room, and no, there typically aren't many of those machines around. But you can get sodas and waters included in your package from any bar!
Good tips, Matt is spot on. I would personally also look at September for great deals at least from east coast FL ports. I have found the very best prices during the two weeks after Thanksgiving. I have a timeshare in Aruba those two weeks, not sure if that should make me happy or sad! LOL
Sheri, not really. We take a trip to the Caribbean every September. We had two weeks in August as well last year. If they have to cancel, we get the money back and we would just roll with it if they changed the itinerary. We had to leave Bermuda a day early a few years ago but enjoyed an extra sea day!
One caveat, I live near Hilton Head, SC and almost always drive to the ports, so a cancellation is much less of and issue for me. It would potentially be much more an issue for you flying in from the West Coast. If a cruise is cancelled, I would likely know before I left home. Also, I was fortunate to have a career that let me retire at 50 so I'm very flexible and don't have the additional worry of having taken vacation time and then not getting the vacation! If that is a concern, February and March are really nice times to cruises the Caribbean, the prices are good and the weather is not too hot. Might even be a little cool on embarkation/debarkation day. Keep up the great videos, I look forward to them every week!
Sailing on RC in 11 days. WOOHOO. I saw on several blogs that they don't enforce the "no bringing beverages on board" rule. Has anyone found that to be true? I'm wanting to bring some mini cartons of almond milk.
Hello... Where do I find the waivers for the zip line and flow rider on the cruise planner? I do not see it. I will be on Harmony soon and would like to sign these already. Thanks!!!
Hmmm..... I'm not too sure, but I would keep poking around. If your cruise is soon, they should be there. You may want to ask on the forums at royal caribbean blog
Hi! I just asked Shipmate and they stated that is still too soon. Im traveling in February 24. Maybe to give it 30 days before or so. I'll check again in few weeks. Thanks!!
This isn't really that related to your video, but I cannot figure out who to ask! we are leaving for our first cruise (Going to coco cays and Nassau), in 11 days. My husband and I are not sure if our 3 year old son will need his carseat in order to ride in taxis etc if we choose to do different excursions? I really don't want to lug it around but obviously want him safe! We live in a small town in Indiana, so public transportation is never something we do, ever lol sorry if this is a silly question I just really am unsure of who to ask!
+Kasidy Mullins that's an excellent question. I think it's more a matter of parental decision than the law. In most foreign countries, it is not required - so you have to decide if you want to take the car seat. I will tell you that we never have taken a car seat - we just buckle our son into a backseat seatbelt and say a little prayer. That may make me a terrible parent But I feel that life is risky everywhere.
CruiseTipsTV, thank you for getting back with me! That's what we're thinking too, out of all the videos i have watched I haven't ever heard anyone say they did take a carseat so I'm thinking it must not be something common for people to bring!
The deposit is only fully refundable if you book with a refundable deposit. If you book non refundable then you get credit back but they take some of the deposit.
I don't think the deposits are refundable anymore unless you pay extra in the first place for a refundable rate. Bummer if you want to book way early because you never know what will come up in life.
Like the the Tips. I don't have a travel agent how would I go about finding one? if I use a travel agent will I still be able to make payments on the cruise or have to have all the cost up front? Also my mother wants to go on the ship where you can sky dive, she is 67 now by the time we go she maybe 70 because we are booked with NCL and Carnival. Would she be to old to sky dive at 69 or 70.
Great work, as always!
+Royal Caribbean Blog Thanks so much Matt. So honored that you were a part of this. #yolobookit
Royal Caribbean Blog wow, you made the big tome , Matt!!
We love Liberty of the Seas. A perfect sized ship. If you don't want to sail with a bunch of kids, book the first two weeks in December. It's exam time for most kids so parents don't want to take them out of school. The fee kids we have encountered are homeschooling and tend to be really well behaved

No

christy gaul - which ship?
You're so full of life. I love ALL of your videos. You have to much useful information and cool backgrounds.
Your attitude and energy is worth watching this video 👍
Yes, in 2019 water and soda are allowed (12 less than 17oz) per cabin.
Nicole Twisk A question might sound repetitive, but is it only 12 sodas or 12 waters ....or can you bring the 12 sodas along with 12 waters?
You can take on bottled water. Canned soda and juices on harmony of the seas, I’ll be sailing March 2020
Hi Sheri and Matt thank you for sharing all your information. I love RCCL. I want to throw my 2 cents in here on tips. I've really enjoyed Matt's blog and Periscopes. he sure loves what he does.
You can take a 12-pack of non-alcoholic sodas or similar canned beverages on board now.
I love RCCL and thank you for those tips and tricks and your videos are always informative and interesting. You do a good job in front of the camera and your husband does an excellent job behind the camera.
+Orville Tait thank you for the kind words!!
You can still bring water onboard. We just went two months ago and brought a whole case of water!
Great tips. I love your energy. You man planning a cruise stress free. Your suggestion was very helpful. Thx so much for sharing dear.
Hi Sherri!

I'm gonna book our anniversary dinner before we go. Thx for the tip!
That's great that RCL let's one adult buy it. I don't like Carnival's policy much. Makes it hard when one party doesn't even drink!
Not so fast. That’s changed. 😩
We are Royal Caribbean cruisers. Thank you so much for all the great tips
Watching this in 2020 being hopeful for using these tips in 2021.
Or rather, how do you find a good and reliable travel agent?

great tips... you forgot 1 thing Royal actually as another private island called Coco Cay in the Bahamas :)

Yes you can try to search on sites for them.
RoyalCaribbeanblog has them
Download the RC app and all of the schedule will be on it, including dinner menus
Cherloe it depends on the ship not all ships are on the app
If you don't use a app and don't know how to use the cruise planner can you go onto there site and call up early and save 10.00
with a account mgr?
when going to a port that sells drinks can you bring Gatorade on board?
why only the first 2 weeks of March?
one thing Matt forgot is for the people who have the Bank of America royal Caribbean card you get a certain percentage off when doing specialty dining, drink packages and certain excursions a ton of perks.
I have the RC credit card and they never mentioned any of that to me. Is that something new?
I love her voice. Wonder if she does voice overs for commercials...too cute
Thank you so much! I don't do VO, but that would be fun.
She could be a top car sales gal...excellent marketing choice for having her describe info.

How was your trip?
Trying to decide between royal Caribbean or Norwegian for western Caribbean 7 day cruise. Can’t decide between the two. Please help who would you recommend over all?
I have a question,
Are you allowed to bring a 12 pack of like coke,Sprite etc. On the brilliance of the seas, Royal Caribbean? You have been helping me alot with my cruise I am going on my first cruise in 20 days so I was just wandering😁 I love this channel 😚
graciexlovxly You can. Check FAQs on the RC website. That’s where I found the info. I don’t know why she says you can’t.
I know I am late. I was just in Brialliance May 31 to June 12. We might have seen each other.
Yes you can bring
Please update the soda and water that you are allowed to bring on board.
Can we put water and half and half in our checked in luggage
so meaning it is allowed to bring soda or water on board?
Do they serve gluten free foods on royal Caribbean cruise?
Thank you so much for answering my question regarding Sapphire Princess! Heading to your Instagram page now..
Thank you for the RC video. We are going to Alaska on Radiance of the Seas in June. I enjoyed hearing your tips.
Wonderful! You might enjoy our Alaska livestream here on this channel 4/8 at noon, Pacific.
So, if someone books a cruise directly with RCCL, is it worth getting a TA involved after to keep an eye on new deals and changes? It is too late?
Do you have an update for 2022
Pretty sure that roller coaster footage is from mystic mountain in Jamaica🤔
Can you tell us where you great your bracelets?
Yes! Love them! They are from

Great tips!
Nice video
You are allowed to bring up to 12 bottles of water, I am going on a cruise dec 2019 and confirmed the water allowance
Thanks for the update! Have a wonderful cruise in December Carl!
Thank you for update. We r also going in dec
I love those little Roast beef sandwiches
love the tips!
Excellent video and tips, thank you!
Our pleasure Loren.

Do you need a drink package for the coffee at cafe promenade?
I'm so confused. I watch other UA-cam Channels about Cruising with Royal Caribbean, and the other channels say I CAN bring Water Bottles and Soda (up to 12) on Embarkation Day. Did the rules change recently? Our Harmony Cruise is in a few weeks.
Hey Rhonda! This video is pretty old and the good news is that most people report u CAN take water ❤️
@@CruiseTipsTV Ok. Thanks for your response. 😊
Cruise Critic is also good.
Hi dear i have a question im about to taste this cruise on June 11, From Galveston to Honduras, Mexico, my question is:
is this cruise going to pass thought this beautiful island? thanks in advance this is my dream travel going to USA just to make this cruise. Im From Mozambique in Africa.
They owe you!!! If they would just move a ship back over to California this would have made me ready to book!!!
ME too Ginger!
Here a link to the adventure ocean age brackets:www.royalcaribbean.com/contentSiteletSub.do?pagename=family_kids&pagenameMain=main_family&discriminators=2
What is extra: shore excursions, specialty dining (but there's tons of free food), booze, soda, coffee (premium), premium activities, and room service.
Great video !
I have a question....the cruise wifi is worth it to buy?? Or is too slow?
My experience is it's very slow. And hey, your on an amazing ship with tons to do, no need for WiFi
Sheri you are tempting me to book with Royal Caribbean
Haha, do it girl!
Do you have any tips for shopping on board and port shopping?
Sure! Watch for sales in your daily newsletter and special events
Awesome tips love RC!!
Thanks Rich!
ha!!! sheri this is an oldie but goodie tht helped me so much!!! #LabaDoozie 😂😂😂😂👍👍👍
+Deidre Smith Yah!
Hi sheri, I'm going on the adventure of the seas this april. l've a question for you. Can i bring my own wine to the windjammer restuarant? thank.
HEY Stephen! I'm not too sure. I suggest asking the great crew over in the forums at RoyalCaribbeanblog.com
@@CruiseTipsTV thanks
We just took two 12-packs of sodas on Allure of the Seas last week.
And btw, Labadee sucks butt.
Hey Alan- depends on the cruise line, but usually it is waiting for you in the room if you pre-purchased it.
LOL
+Boat Lover do you worry about hurricane season?
Sheri, not really. We take a trip to the Caribbean every September. We had two weeks in August as well last year. If they have to cancel, we get the money back and we would just roll with it if they changed the itinerary. We had to leave Bermuda a day early a few years ago but enjoyed an extra sea day!
GREAT point. I suppose it is totally worth the risk.
I'm wanting to bring some mini cartons of almond milk.
okay thanks look forward to it
Thanks!!
Do you have the same type of video for Carnival?
Thanks for the tips 😀
You are welcome!
Can you bring distilled water for hair iron?
You can probably put it in a hair bottle spray
Just wondering what cruise line is good with small kids.
Shavonna Asbury Disney, Royal Caribbean... in that order
The deposit is only fully refundable if you book with a refundable deposit. If you book non refundable then you get credit back but they take some of the deposit.
I had called RC for my cruise in 2018 - they told me we can bring 12 bottles of water? Have they changed it back?
Yes you can take it ❤️
You are really cool, thanks for sharing.
Always enjoy your videos
+DaAIRFORCECHICK thank u!
CruiseTipsTV freedom of the seas
Do you have to pre book shows???
No
I don't think the deposits are refundable anymore unless you pay extra in the first place for a refundable rate. Bummer if you want to book way early because you never know what will come up in life.
I think you get a better rate with a non refundable deposit but if you change your mind that deposit can be used for another cruise on RCCL.
+Adrienne Dastgir I'll answer your questions on Tuesday's vlog :-)
+Adrienne Dastgir an agent posted a promo in the comments on this video - you'll see it if you scroll down, & your episode comes out Tuesday.

You have done Media before! Great job!
What is the dress code for the windjammer ?
Casual- no swimsuits that aren’t covered 🙈 but otherwise extremely casual
My family and I booked a year in advance!
